WoW download stuck on "initializing"

Im on 0% instalation process at bnet. For like an hour. I was sure my app was dead so i decided to reinstall it. Tried all guides …

Hey guys,
After 2 hours being stuck, I installed Windscribe too, used “New York - Empire” position, and it worked without any issue, i’m in game right now.

Keep up mates.

I tried the Windscribe thing, and tried with several different locations, and with several different battle.net locations and nothing worked -.-’ Seems to be random who gets through :frowning:

My issue seemed to be as PTR & Beta were also hanging on updates, changed region to America, restarted BNET, paused all updates, uninstalled them both, then clicked update on Dragonflight and now it’s working

Edit: Downloading super slow, so paused logged out and changed back to Europe, resumed download ( 30 sec of init ) and now it’s downloading fine

I just left mine alone for a few hours after trying all the “fixes”, it’s now installing at 151kb/s

And I had hoped to play today. Transparency is cool and all, but they’re literally saying “we knew the influx for CDN data will be huge, and did nothing to mitigate the issue - but it’s okay since we’ve been inept at this precise problem for years now, so players will understand”.

Blizzard is the single game dev studio which continuously cannot push out big updates / expansions due to the absolute lack of care for increased traffic on their servers / CDNs. It’s unprofessional, yes, but also heinous. That’s not how you treat your customers.

Blizzard you are a fing disgrace. What to expect from a indie company? Any updates any timetables anything or do we need to beg to use the product we paid money for?

2 hours ago… still not solution?

Same issue. I opened the BattleNet launcher at 10 pm GMT on the 16th, and it’s been stuck on “initialising” for the last 37 minutes.

Blue posted on US forums. Not EU because Blizzard are known for only checking EU forums once a quarter.

Same problem here since 9pm, and my girlfriend downloaded an update just some minute before. Tried every suggested solution but the VPN. I also read the Twitter post (ty 4 link guys). For the first time I feel so tired to deal with Blizzard’s problems.

You did not try the only solution , i.e, VPN, which is the only working one

Absolutely ridiculous!

So much for the adverts and marketing?! So much for play Evoker 16.11.22? How can they make up for this?

Many people who work were EXCITED to play a PRODUCT that they PAID for only to come home and have this nonsense?

Mine was stuck on update, so I followed all the guides, nothing worked, moved on to youtube videos, nothing worked. Checked reddit, Nothing worked. Came to the forums, no blue post?! Just a twitter update telling us what we have already figured out?! Thanks Sherlock!

Its 22:44pm now and I must go bed! Why? Because I have work in the morning! Blizzard have once again dissapointed. They lure us in with excellent market strategies and let us down. It is crazy how there has not been a blue response on EU yet!

I used VPNBook .com (remove the space) a free openVPN catalog that offer some server in Canada, US and EU.

I’m based in Italy, use Canadian server, 8mb/s update done. No need to restart agent, battlenet and so on.

ah, the service is free of charge and does not require registration. It’s not just click and forget but there is a good guide that explain all the step. If you are stuck may it worth give a try.
