what an absolute Joke! been tring for over 2 hours now to update!!! still no joy. Would be nice if blizz actually acknowledged, there is a problem!

Bummer. Was looking forward to create a evoker today, but looks like that’s not going to happen.
Been stuck for 45 min. Restarting bnet gets it stuck at waiting for another download to finish…
Glad I’m not the only one stuck in the initializing loop. Swear blizz never used to have this much of an issue with updates and video game launches. Thought they would’ve made some improvements after OW2’s awful launch.

I am running wow on Linux, so I suggested it’s a Linux problem. But it’s not. With W11, the result is the same. Blizzard seems to have a network issue. The update servers are unreachable.

I have tried restarting my pc, disabling the firewall and running as admin there has been no joy still stuck on initializing. I have also tried repairing my game and still no joy :(. I am just thinking that there are so many requests being made to the servers to do the download there is a delay which is causing the problem and we just need to wait.
Soo… this happens everytime at the night of a pre-patch lately. I know it will work in a few hours or tomorrow morning eventualy, but it seems there are people playing right now in my friend’s list. So a blue post about what is the actual issue would be appreciated.
This notion of knowing people can get in the game and not me makes me waste my time with reinstalling, clearing caches and doing weird voodoo stuff with my pc.

Another “me too” here, both me and my other half on completely different systems. I was expecting things to be too crowded for me to want to do much tonight, but had hoped to at least be able to log in…

any ideas how to get around this, i’ve been stuck on initializing for 40 mins. I already reset the computer, renamed the game folder, and reset bnet, I prefer not to delete wow who knows how much it will download at this rate

The entire launcher is not working. It’s stuck on updating but if you pause it and for example try to uninstall the dragonflight beta or any other product the launcher also freezes up
Not working here “Initializing” Tried all the tricks here. Fix, rename etc. Either “Initializing” or "Waiting for another download (and there is no other download)

Me too. The “update” is just stuck at 0 %.
Same stuck on “Initializing” and I Just pre purchased the expansion so I could enjoy playing this evening. Explanation please Blizz, not a great customer experience.

Same here…
I’m so deflated at this point. Blizz are unbelievably good at tricking us all into buying a 1st class ticket on the hype train… but that’s all they’re good at these days. EVERY single expac, I come back expecting to be treat like an appreciated customer… and every year, they let me down.

Same here. Stuck on Initializing, restarted battlenet, did nothing, several times.
Uninstalled Battlenet thinking it would help if I reinstalled but now it’s stuck on installing the damn launcher itself nevermind updating Warcraft for me to play.

Be patient guys, Blizzard is a small indie company with very limited resources. They do their best to solve this issue.
