The update is never taking too long, it is finished exactly when it is meant to.

Waited around 30 mins and it finally started downloading, at around 200KB/s
Mine has started working.
This actually worked for me ! The update is now complete but it took a long time for 180mb to be downloaded with a ridiculously 145ko/s… Cardboard Blizzard servers… Thanks m8
What worked for me was opening the Task Manager and under Background Processes I ended the task Battle.net Update Agent.
It popped back up by itself and after a minute or so it started downloading…slowly, mind you.
It took about half an hour to download a 170-something MB’s but at least it worked.
Hopefully this works for others as well.
Same here. Finally started to download the update at a snails pace.

check the bandwidth settings, I just had a look to see if it was a problem and it says pre patch content is set to 100kB/s not sure if it is that causing slow downloads
yeah same for me, for an hour now, restarted PC, restarted louncher, tried to swap a country with VPN as someone sugessted…nothing

Imagine being on your 9th expansion and not being able to cope with what, by now, must be very predictable volumes of traffic. So stupid, its not even launch day!

Same problem here
I hopped onto an openvpn (plenty of free ones out there) and it looks like it’s loading now.
I’m in Germany and hopped to the Netherlands. I guess they have a Region-Based CDN and you get a different Cluster this way.
May be wort a shot!
Tried but no dice, restarted the first part of the update (setting the files / etc with the 1,72 mb size) then back to initializing
