My download just started after a long time of initializing.

At first my update went fine. But after it completed it was stuck on initializing. I tried to scan and repair the game and it keeps stopping at 98% with error “Whoops! Looks like something broke. Give it another shot.” for an hour straight.
I’ve tried ending the processes on Task manager, running as administrator, pausing the download, uninstalling and reinstalling and none of them worked. I really really wanted to play a Drakthyr today.
Will we be compensated? Thanks in advance.

Even when you get past initialising and it starts to update, cross your fingers for the game to even start. When you press Play nothing happens.

My and my wife have the same problem.
I’m having the same problem. No solutions have helped so far. Guess I’ll just try leaving it on like everyone else and hope it works after a while.
Guess I am not playing tonight unless it changes fast. Been a long day at work, stood 1,5 hours in a traffic jam on a 20 min commute and now initializing for almost an hour. Hoped to relax for a bit before going to sleep and work again…

Wow! Now i cant even install Battle.net aplication. Stucks on 0%. Jesus Christ. What an unbelievable incompetency from blizzard.

Stuck on initializing screen and now ‘waiting on another update’
cant even play wrath classic, that i also pay for, because it needs an update. absolute joke from a game that costs more than netflix.

Nothing is being done by blizzard, cant even keep their launcher working. They got their money for the expac and now give a big middle finger to everyone who already pre purchased. THIS IS WHY you dont pre purchase, as soon as they have the money they stop working,

unbelievable… I can understand issue with launch day of expansion but on pre-patch and even blizzard cannot put simple blue post about this problem. I hope they know we pay for this game and we just wanna play. So shame.

So it finally started downloading after 2 hours but very slowly.
Before I had tried to restart it and it got even more stuck and had to restart PC and after that, 1.5h and not it’s at least doing something.
as i expected today i am playing total war not world of warcraft. Thank god I left work 2 hours earlier
(I downloaded 35gb from steam faster than 180mb from battle.net)
I am very concerned because I uninstalled it and trying to reinstall now, it’s still stuck on Initializing but seems to be making very very tiny little progress so I’ll just leave it there but I’m afraid it’ll take several hours to download the whole game for me
