Is it time for Ion step down ? you did good on Legion and that’s about it.
Ion wasnt even lead designer back then. Chillton was, and im pretty sure all bad stuff in Legion was Ion’s ideas (AP, Legendary RNG), since all of that came to BFA and SL with Ion, while everything good in Legion was Chillton’s one creation.
Ion is a complete failure of a game designer, i guess he is able to boost metrics good enough with timegated and rng stuff, but completely unable to make a good WoW expansion.
Started mid/late vanilla, and me and my brother shared 1 account that we kept alive right until cata on our allowances alone. Played MoP and WoD on private servers, when legion launched my brother decided to revive our old account where I tried the expansion and was impressed so much i decided that it was time to make an acc for myself. BfA was garbage no argument there, but I tought to myself “well its ussually good expansion bad expansion, so I can weather this storm”, seeing SL, testing it and now playing it, it’s clear that Blizzard have no intention of breaking their cycle of bad decisions, soo I think I’m out for good this time.
I would suggest learning how to log yourself, that way your sure that your best attempts will be recorded and the your parces will improve (I mean I pugged BoD and ET for the most part and had purple sometimes orange parces). Unless you mean something else entirely.
How about no, it is so unnecessary. IT IS A GAME. I don’t want to be judged, I don’t want an interview just to do heroic. I WANT TO PLAY. Let the mythic people deal with all that. It is just bonkers what is happening to the game. Blizzard are doing plenty wrong, but the community with its ‘standards, rules and gatekeeping’ are doing a pretty good job at killing the game as well.
Just feels like it is time for WoW to die, people take it far to seriously and have forgetting it is supposed to be a leisure past time, that relaxes people and they enjoy.
Sorry that came across harsh. I’m frustrated. Spent the last two hours trying to get into an heroic group. It is so annoying.
Well I’m sorry to say but thats unavoidable in the PuG sphere, especially if you are dps, but these 3rd party websites like IO and wowlogs exist for a reason, there are allot of people out there that lets say are less skilled (I mean I have seen so many pugers that dont know how to use their cc or even know they have a kick). The best way to avoid judgements is to find a decent guild, but I understand that this too can be difficult.

They have destroyed PVP that’s why… Even in 50-59 bg’s they are FULL of level 60 premades just cheesing it… I’m also unsubbing now gg blizz

Ion wasn’t even the director during the development process of Legion, he took office only after the release.
yep - people dont realise that by having game more convinient they have muhc more fun in game
instead realising that 50% of playerbase decided to stop playing game as even more convinient way to have fun
dd Ion - you beat WoD record - wod lost only 30 % of playerbase in first 3 months . you managed to loose 50%+

M+ also came late in the dev cycle, most likely Ion’s brainchild.
One thing is certain - you shouldn’t trust game design to a lawyer with “elitist jerks” tag.
Its very frustrating because there are elements of a great game but the way they implemented everything is not fun. For the first time in a long time i also have no desire to play any other class

It’s starting to get a bit stale for me as well after I came back a couple of years ago during BFA and playing until now most of the game is starting to feel a bit boring. Rolled this alt the other day and tried a few other older characters but I can’t seem to get the magic back.
A shame I used my excess gold to buy quite a few WoW tokens a few months back, so I’m paid up until June. I wish I could at least give that time to someone else because I have a feeling I’m not going to need it.
I would also like to add another issue to me, is the way they laid Shadowlands out. 4 zones that aren’t really relevant to each other at all, 1 circular and in my opinion boring city and 1 daily quest hub zone.
It just feels a bit soulless to me, when you fly from say Ardenweald to Maldraxxus, you go through a blue portal, fly over Oribos and then into another portal. Maybe that’s just me but I preferred the old style of big continents.

I’m not hater of SL at all but
Let’s take a legion or BFA world Q system and compare it to SL
LEGION and BFA was fast easy and that means fun cause you completed your daily grind faster and those Q were more fun for example Kill 1 rare.
SL WQ system is bad not becuase WQ itself but how long they take to complete and mobs in world even if you are 210+ take a lot of time to kill and travel between is terrible.
another example is removal of flyin whistle why? it was not bad at all
cause it made your game better …it made you feel better when you pressed it
now flyin between those zone is terrible and runing to WQ is even more
The game needs to give you IM FEELING GOOD type of gameplay not like
FFS why is this Q so far away or why do i need to kill 15 mobs collect 9 items and convert them into 3 bigger items to use them on object
Another example is Island expeditions from BFA it was content for casuals to farm cool tmogs and mounts and pets
there is no such thing in SL
Darkshore rares / arathi rares / Uldum and valley rares

Why so many people played M+ in legion and BFA but many people don’t do more than 10 now?
It’s because m+ rewards are terrible and it’s a fact cause no one in their right mind wants to play wow on weekly basis to collect best reward
put the loot into dungeons and remove vault.
BFA chest was terrible when it gives you duplicate yes
but loot from dungeons was helping you progress in m+ so BFA chest was just small bonus at the end of the week
vault is ultimate gearing system…
And i can talk and talk and talk

I was in guild at the start of this expansion
100+ people online before blizzard released this Season
after that peopel tried 3-4 IDs killed normal and maybe 1-4 hc bosses they quit because no loot
only those Hardcore dudes play now and they have problem to put together Mythic progress so they are stuck at 1/10 right now
and those hardcore dudes killed mythic n’zoth last expansion

Yeah I meant that with daily hub. Initially I thought it was cool and didn’t get why people were complaining, I was doing it every day to get the gem sockets and even upgrade my conduits but after 2 months of doing it almost daily it’s gotten very old
