WoW lost half it's subs

Yea you might be right actually on all your points

Imagine still not having a solo queue system for PVP in 2021 when all the other games in the world have 1.
World of Warcraft is so old outdated and they are refusing to do any changes and in the process, they are losing players-subs and money :joy: :poop:

After 10 years of playing I think I’m near the end…shame really as I’ve loved it on the whole.
My main gripe is the futility of it. Each expansion virtually nullifies all the grind and effort on previous expansions to get where you were and the scaling of mobs adds to that.
And all the old tokens , coins, supplies become nigh on worthless, just sitting in your currency tab.
It doesn’t help with the vast difference in ilvls for the same level means there’s levels within a level. Hence why some think SL is easy and others hard. Not sure what the solution is though.
Other gripes incl pants professions, the world is so cluttered with ups and downs (bring on flying), no flight whistle to mention a couple…
Anyway roll on end of lockdown, pubs open and summer coming…

Was thinking about actually going for 15+ achievement for the Fomo mount but then knowing that 1, it will take way too long with pugging and 2. All my work will be wasted once next major patch drops.

Kind of killed the mood.

Also not fun to see the coolest dragon mounts being locked behind gladiator… again.

The cycle is there because we are foolish enough to think that blizz actually fixed their errors not because we finish the content until their next content drop. There is a difference

And the way patches are laid you pretty much makes it best to just wait until x.5 to start playing cause then the story might be unlocked or whatever broken new system have been partially fixed.

This is the first time i already quit in the second month of a new expansion. Blizz simply ruined everything i liked in this game for no real reason.

We need happy places in this game to make devs not depressed about making the game, if they’re forced to draw dark & gloomy places, they get scared of innovating, best bet would be make them design lush jungles with animals & trolls and stuff (Stranglethorn Vale expansion) it’s pretty much a win-win, no more dark & depressing stuff, retain more subs

#Put more Gnomes into the game

This is coming from some1 that spends too much time in the maw cause I farm gold there to pay for classic sub

Also would be nice if the best farm spots are in a jungle in future expansions, would make people more interested in gold farming

Don’t forget the extra pay they get via honor points

how is that different from any other expansion? besides legion, what more did you have to do in others? honestly think about it. it might be just the nostalgia you are remembering from “the good ones”. i remember having a blast even fishing in wotlk of all things… it’s not “rip shadowlands” when it’s literally been 1 patch that started off pretty great too… if you don’t raid and do 1 mythic dungeon per week that doesn’t mean the game is bad, you just aren’t really invested… which is fine if you personally don’t enjoy it but it’s always the people that don’t really play much that complain the most somehow…maybe create an alt and see other covenants, do old content, achievements, reps, farm mounts and mogs idk i always have what to do man. yeah i might not always feel like it but there’s still plenty of stuff to do in this game if you want to be developing your characters. and for the record i don’t raid either and i’m still sometimes overwhelmed by how much i could do in a reset. if you don’t raid, barely do dungeons, don’t pvp, don’t have alts and don’t do casual content… yeah you should probably unsub at this point.

that makes no sense… yeah having to put effort sure kills the mood right…it’s not like we have idk months to get it or anything and giving yourself a goal to achieve is just not an option…
tell me how would all your work be wasted when you would would have an achievement that is no longer obtainable in game to show for it + a no longer obtainable mount… by that logic why do anything challenging when there’s always a next patch to apparently somehow erase all you did?

And yet your main is ilvl 220 and caught up on renown. If you’re going to throw around hot takes like that at least practice what you preach.

Bellular makes a video when the weather changes.

That asides? The expansion honeymoon is over and other games offer new experiences. I’m not really surprised there’s been a drop in active players at this point in the expansion, though I will say that Blizzard may want to reconsider their current game structure.

Not really an argument, if he had a lower ilevel and renown you could also just say ‘oh how would you know, you’ve hardly played the game!’

I don’t think anybody who creates content for WoW or posts in the forum wants the game to die. Most of the people (including myself) are deeply worried about the state of the game and it’s hard to say that the game is good right now. The entire gearing philosophie is a terrible and costumer unfriendly mess, it combines timegates with RNG, punishes people for going on a vacation, is made so difficult that boosting is out of control etc.

I’m new to the game and it feels like coming late to a (rather bad) party which is almost over. When looking at previous expansions it doesn’t look like the game got any better or did learn from the past. In my view (as a new player) the gearing was never great, it’s always been timegates and RNG over and over and WoW players got so used to this nonsense that they forgot how a good game looks like.

That might have been a point had he not posted on an alt in order to conceal the hypocrisy of the abovementioned hot take. Trying to hide it only makes him seem perfectly aware.

While this is absolutely true, it doesn’t change the fact that the game has its problems right now. Be it time-gating or unrewarding ingame activities (or broken promises regarding customisation features), it does feel as though a course correction is sorely overdue.

I only play when I’m enjoying the game. If there is content that I want to do, that is what keeps me playing.

That is not to say I like every single aspect of an expansion or patch but it has more things I like than dislike.

No wonder people are leaving.

They have no motivation to stick around because :

15 world bosses killed (in total) on 3 different chars - Not a single item nor a conduit.

10 mythic + completed weekly - sometimes i don’t get even 1 item for 10 hours of more spent playing.

10 raid bosses killed, not a single item or conduit.

PvP full of boosters.

Only people sticking around are people who like to be humiliated and dominated.

I don’t see any other reason to pay 15 euros a month.

Last reset i got from weekly vault

3 pvp trinkets,220 ilvl shield with horrible stat combination (i had to vendor it) and 220 ilvl cloak (i got lege already)

3 crappy raid items, even 1600 pvp gear is better than any of those.

Blizzard obviously don’t care about people who are making them money (aka us)

If they did, they wouldn’t try so hard to push people away with 0 rewards for people’s effort.

Its too late giving more loot and balancing game 5 months after release, because most people already left and wont be comming back.

Big issue for me is the lack of loot from M+, with no bonus rolls or gradual way of accumulating something to buy a 226 piece.
I mean, do endless +15 M+ and you get maximum 210 gear which won’t be an upgrade, which will only come in the RNG Great Vault.

No wonder people just do one M+ run a week and wait for the loot god to favour them.

Blizzard has gotten out of touch with its fan base in general.
When looking at the statistics you see what people enjoyed in previous expansions and what not yet even the simple things they fail to do.

Keep in mind though , it’s the company that

  • Reskinned a Chinese game and named it Diablo immortal
  • Tells the majority of its pc facebase ’ don’t you have phones’
  • Release a remake of one of the most beloved RTS games and straight up ruined it.
  • Has a WOW lead designed that comes over as a narcissist that never seems to take responsibility or admit a mistake.

Now Shadowlands design.

  • Half the specs aren’t very good to pick for Mythic + and Mythic raids while this is easily fixable for DPS. Specs like mistweaver are completely ignored.
There is no need for a frost mage or firemage to have a big DPS gap for example

  • No crossfaction dungeons while alliance raiding community is on its last legs.

  • In the past the dev team stated that absorbs/spirit shell were a mistake.
In shadow lands it is back again breaking other healers their mastery and basically being grossly overpowered.

  • Promises more character customizations, takes it back

  • Wants to make Shadowlands alt friendly compared to BFA, does the opposite.

  • Makes something as tedious as the maw and think it was a good idea

  • No tier sets since apparently designing them is a problem

  • 35 Anima for a +15 key finished until recently

  • Pretty much locked on a covenant

  • Telling the community ’ end Shadowlands you can farm legion raids’

  • Quality of encounters went down hill, healing design is con existent on the majority of the bosses.

I can go on why people quit this game.
I like raiding myself but that is about it.
