Zul’Gurub and AQ20

Lets say you cant get into raids, but only 5 man will you be able to try out Zul’Gurub and AQ20 with only dungeon gear. From what i see no new 5 man and there will be players so far behind they wont get into MC and BWL let alone get gear…

Yes, assuming we’re talking about pre-raid BiS. Pre-raid BiS is much stronger than some ppl assume, especially in phase 5 once the catch-up gear (so-called “Naxx blues”) is implemented - which generally predates AQ20 by at least a couple weeks, depending on how fast the War Effort event is cleared on your server

Yes, you will be able to complete those raids with non-epic dungeon gear.

ZG and AQ20 are ment as sidegrades to 40 man raids and mostly catch up gear. So yes you can do these raids in dungeon gear.

people will not invite you if you dont MASSIVELY outgear ZG and AQ20! by at LEAST t3!

  1. ZG is doable with dungeon equipment and delivers some substantial upgrades over dungeon equipment as drops and crafting

  2. AQ20 is doable with dungeon and ZG equipment, and there’s an additional source of high quality pre-raid equipment available from doing Silithus summoning and doing quests and gaining reputation with the Cenarion Circle

As always having better gear equipment available to start out with will allow faster progression in new content, but vanilla WoW was quite good at adding catch-up mechanics to the degree that some bitter raiders grumbled about Silithus “Naxx blues” devaluing their experience

It was a time where you could wipe at ZG if only one player made a mistake and you couldn’t reach the last 2 AQ20 boss without T2 gear.

Classic is the LFR mode of Vanilla.

Lolwut. You could kill ossi naked. And in retail vanilla 2 crystals spawn that made him a free loot vendor. You were a complete dumb if you needed t2 for that.

I can imagine doing it with less than 20, but with 5 man in blue gear as op asks?

The game just released, how do you mean “so far behind”? If you use current raid guilds as measure, you are behind. if you look globally, there’s still many players not even 60 yet that will also form raid groups and progress at their own pace. Keep in mind, this is Classic, you have all the time to do the content, there will not be a expansion rendering content obsolete, at all or for a very long time.
