Also this!
And you knew that every single MMO has these issues at launch. All of them.
Why not just wait a week until it settles? You lose all of 4 euros worth of sub in that time. The horror.
People blow this stuff up like it’s a crack in their Rolex, rather than a cinema ticket for a disappointing movie they wish they hadn’t gone to see.
I have one thing to say. F BLIZZARD
Same for me now. Dc at 16.00 back to queue. Finally got in 23.00 and I got dc now 30min later. Let’s see if I keep playing or not.
You still need to wait 20k players to get a DC on the firs login. How You are planning to fix the full realm issue? Do You offer immediate and free character transfers to the new servers?
Everytime i get in from 14k+ queue my wife gets DCed (i belive kicked)… some kinda security issue to prevent mutliloggers or something… cuz it has happened 3 times now in row… I log in, she gets DC the same second. then i get dced when she gets in… etc…
I don’t see the reasoning behind the nitpicking here. Besides that people will most definitly have hit 60 within a week. Not many, sure, but there will be a few people.
Then let’s say it’s level 50s that are camping scarlet monastery entrance.
Level 40s that are zerging down the barrens.
More realistically, everyone is in the same boat.
And there’s the point. Many people are in said boat, but others aren’t. The whole server going down and people being unable to play? Annoying, yes, but not influencing gameplay experience.
Your own “shard” oder “layer” or whatever you may call it crashing, while others don’t, throwing you at the very back of an 8 hour queue, you receiving the world server down message while others don’t, etc. is what directly influences gameplay experience negatively.
As an example: I’ve been ingame at 0:00 AM. Played for one and a half hour while friends that I was in a call with were sitting in a queue since they’ve logged in much later than I did.
At 1:30 AM my layer crashed, logging me out and putting me at the very back of a 13k queue. At the same time, their queue time immediately jumped from 2000 to 0 and they were logged in. They were able to play the whole time, from 1:30 AM to 6 AM, where I was able to log back in. When I was able to log back in, I was greeted with a message that said “shutdown in 15 minutes”.
Now you tell me this isn’t frustrating. Is it the end of the world? Of course not. Chances are their headstart (which is 10 levels at this point, since I’ve been in a queue for close to 6 hours again now) will probably diminish over time, but I can safely guarantee you that the whole 5 of us would’ve enjoyed the game a fair bit more if we would’ve been able to play the game with each other. And that’s just the social part of the game, that’s being diminished. The level advantage and thus PvP part is another story, that’s also straight up negatively influencing a players experience.
So yes, while of course you can wait and bide your time, it’s still a bunch of things that are directly, negatively, influencing my very own gameplay experience, and negatively influencing a players gameplay experience is something that bad, that Blizzard themselves chose to put it into their very own ToS, that doing something such as that deliberately is prohibited.
Now of course I’m not saying Activizzard is doing this deliberately, I’m just saying with proper planning and more competent people in the right spots, this would’ve been much less of a mess.
Then… talk to each other. Say “Hey chaps, the servers are knackered, shall we all leave it until Saturday?”
You don’t have to do this thing of tapping your feet, frowning at the queue message, and then muttering about your friends not being able to join you.
BUT - I do agree that a lot of this is because of a total failure to listen to the community and believe that Classic is wanted. Hopefully there will be some very embarrassed people at Blizzard HQ when they have to admit that demand is 10x more than they thought.
It IS poor, it IS frustrating… but it’s not something that needs to ruin your whole experience
who the hell sits 6h in Q? Even if its in the background of w/e you do???
Hello mate the problem is not the queue its the size of it! 27k queue is insane thats 8 hours and as someone who works i will not be able to play at all and this isnt like a BFA expansion where you log on for 2 days get to level 120 and chill, people will not play like this and the spanish situation didnt help they should have there own realm.
thanks!
Do you have any plan to combat the 5 hour queue times?
Of course not. And it won’t. But it puts a major dent into the whole experience, which is a damn shame. And saying that’s okay is just a lie, because it most definitly not okay. It might not be the worst, it might not be the end of the world, but it’s made something that could have and would’ve been a much greater experience into something that’s just screaming incompetent decisionmaking. And that is something incredibly sad to me.
And well the
Statement is pretty close to
Hey I can’t get in, I know you enjoy playing the game right now and you’ve been looking forward to it, but let’s all wait until Saturday, where there’s no guarantee that there’s less of a queue waiting for us
And well that’s not the kind of person I am.
I noted timestamps of my queues today.
I took the week off from work to play Classic. I woke up early today at 7AM to start my journey instead of experiencing the chaos that was launch at 00:00 CEST.
At 07:12 I received a 1-hour queue. No biggie I thought. I got some breakfast and then I got in. I played until 12:15, then I got disconnected. Hit hard in the face with a 9000 queue until 14:34. Whatever, I suppose it was time for a break anyway. I cleaned my house and cooked some lunch.
Between 14:34 and 17:51 I had roughly 3.5 hours of gametime. Then I was disconnected AGAIN!
Between 17:51 to 22:47 today I had to sit a 16000 queue. I got in and played for 20 freaking minutes and then disconnected. At the moment of writing this my position is 7839 on Gehennas.
No, you’re right, the current situation is NOT ok. It stinks of poor planning, failing to listen to the community, and underfunding.
But I’m so sick of whiny “NOW NOW NOW” and “REFUND!” threads that I’m kind of losing sympathy with everyone.
I’ll be in my corner, playing Kerbal Space Program, or Minecraft, or some other game I enjoy until it calms down. I can only suggest that others do the same. Maybe people just need to remember that they can voluntarily wait for their friends, rather than wind up being 20 levels apart and not playing together until 60
the random dc and then into que again should be a priority for fix
I noticed some medium population realms when I login it says realm is full in I get in queue. Is it possible for medium population realm to have queue?
strong textOH YOU SAY? I HAVE BEEN QUEUING FOR 11 HRS AND GET DCED TWICE TODAY? HOW DO YOU THINK I FEEL???
I know exactly how you feel. I was also 11 hours in queue today… And I took a day of from work, so there’s that aswell.
I want a workday refund. Next 6 months subscription is on you blizzard.
Problem being falling behind on a pvp server in classic is not ideal at all, maybe most people have forgotten from years of retail but you cannot just hop on your little dragon and fly away.
Ganking and corpse camping will be huge, and falling behind is going to make leveling misery for the most part.
The people saying that are sucking Blizzards dick so hard it’s sad to watch. Giving them your money and then excusing every last crappy behaviour they do as “well what did you expect” is outright pathetic.
