by fair i mean a match should be composed by teams that were formed the same way, thus has equal chances of winning. they must rely on skill and comunication to win.
however, a PUG team won’t ever have voice coms and how fast a team is able to communicate directly affects their chances of winning. if a team must type while the other can talk, that’s clearly unfair. if one team is composed by guys that never played with each other, by a matchmaker that has no criteria, while the other team plays together every day (with a proper comp), 10 hours a day, that match can’t possibly be fair.
Since blizzard clearly wanted to make the pvp experience viable both for solo and groups, i find it very unsatisfying from the solo player perspective to be matched against challenges they’re very very very unlikely to win. And imo this is some clear design flaw that couldn’t emerge back in 2006 simply cause people were too busy having fun and discovering wow, but it was always there, plus the content updated too fast.
Thats why I really believe the matchmaker should be improved. Forcing premades to fight premade only and giving them some extra honor bonus would fix the issue and make BG enjoyable once again. Cause we gotta agree on this: premade vs premade / pug vs pug are tottaly different mindsets and both are fun. Theres no need to hurt any side.
And btw, there is more than a single way of dealing with this problem, fixing this can’t hurt the game, this is making PvP fun for every player style, which should be a goal for every gaming company… anyways, its up to blizzard and their game developers to decide if they wanna keep their subscribers glad till tbc (and also how)

Fair is a system where each and every player is on even playing ground, where each player has the same opporunities. Such a thing cannot exist in an MMORPG, not whilst retaining factions, races and classes.
What Blizzard wanted to do back in the day is utterly irrelevant and completely pointless.
What Blizzard intended with Classic was to bring the game back and keep people off of Classic private servers. Not to appease modern players.
As I’ve said hundreds of times over, that creates more problems. That changes the meta, that encourages AFKers in BGs, that once again makes honor botting viable.
Not without causing more damage.

Besides of that, that the balance in PvP is equal 0 - there is no balance at all (if we would like to consider also World PvP as a source of honor). PvP now is completly pointless if there is no premade vs premade system. You’re joining AB/WSG as a pug and then waiting xx time in the GY until opposite fraction will finish BG - like a bots - that was Blizzard intention?
By the way if you’re getting Rank +12 playing like this - so winning with AFKING IN THE GY opposite team - you’re really pro then! It’s pure PvP, for sure

Changes that make the game more like it used to be are good changes. You expressed several times that that is “impossible”, but it’s not and you’re just being stupid when you say so.
Then why are spell baching and melee leeway so hated?

Your memory of Vanilla is different to somebody else’s. Your memory of Vanilla contradicts somebody else’s, you can’t have your memory of vanilla at the cost of somebody else’s.
You also can’t change every aspect of what people are doing now to try and force people to play differently. The world doesn’t work like that.
Premade teams tends to play many premades to gain ranks, while pug’s is not the same pug’s playing through the day, and imo more solo queuer’s also play less bg’s when they know its 80-90% premades, they just stop.
so it is not a horrible argument, just because you dont realise that premades do many bg’s all the time so its the same players queueing for bg’s to do more premades, where pug’s quit fast because the fun in getting GY camped is not really fun, so next premade team facing a pug, most likely met all new pug’s.
Its just getting worse now because pug’s end up not doing those bg’s anymore.

Today I played 62 games in WSG of which 15 were pugs. Of those pug games 4 were part premade. So 47 premades and 4 part premade = 51/62 premades. A lot of GY time.
I played Vanilla and ground out my purple pidgeon shoulders and I did it solo.
Yes it took time and yes you came up against premades but nothing like and nowhere near the number we get now. It was a challenge and I enjoyed it. Anybody that claims what we have now is the same we had in Vanilla is frankly lying or just didnt play.
There is one big diff between 2006 and 2020 that didnt exist even when classic was rolled out. Im going to restate it…again…covid19. The extra free time people have today was never in the game plan of either Vanilla or Classic and as a result premades have become an absolute cancer in the current state of self isolation.
I suggest we all just ignore the idiotic and baseless arguments being put forward by the two chief “no change” proponents here, as they plainly and clearly have no desire to experience the challenge that Vanilla actually was. Why would they? too busy camping GYs in AB and WSG to even think about it.
There is no logical reason why premades shouldnt be made to face premades. Keeps the solo players happy, keeps the premade players happy and whats more gives them the challenge that Vanilla actually intended. I don`t care if that means the poor little itsy bitsy premades get ganked by the elite ranking premades. They keep telling us Classic was never meant to be fair lol.
Start posting your daily pvp/pug tallies perhaps, so we can get an actual handle on how out of hand the situation has got. Its hard facts that count not the opinion of a couple of winteam easy ride chumps
