AH add-ons that are ruining Classic

Pretty sure much of the AH issues right now is that everyone is trying to sell exactly the same things, and they can’t afford selling higher stacks etc.(you lose the deposit regardless of selling, iirc?)

Topping that, people aren’t buying much either because they simply can’t afford it, and there you have a crowded AH that hasn’t stabilized yet. Just wait for it to stabilize before you critisize people.

I was trying to sell Malachite a couple of days ago, then realized there was more than 800 units out. No way I’ll be able to sell mine, so after one attempt I left it in the bank instead, for as long as I have space for it. Otherwise it will go to friends for free, or vendor.

No it’s more about making it such a pain in the butt to shop that you will give up and just buy multiples of 1.

I actually don’t buy at all if I can’t buy stacks when I want stacks.

Though atm I can’t afford stacks, so if I would buy, I would buy singles.

i have to agree, These AH addons are ruining the game, This is part of the Reason i don’t play Retail, The AH makes me angry, It’s hard to use and you KNOW that some people only play the game for eearning money in the AH, They just own and control the market, and earn money just by using addons that make it able to mass control AH listing.

And it never bothered me, I just downloaded an addon for it…

If you download it too, then you can see what is cheapest because it will calculate it for you.

Screw Auctioneer addons, a lot of people play the game that don’t even know about addons (eg older gamers) and this stuff affects them as well. We should be able to use the auctioneer as intended without having to worry about people automating selling, auto bidding, mass loading with singles while they use their own filter/search system to bypass it, etc.

But many affect the gameplay for the rest of the people which shouldnt exist in Classic.

In which way affects the gameplay?

It doesn’t affect leveling, grouping, crafting, farming, etc. and if you use the same Addons it’s easy to find the mats with the best Prices.

You simply don’t understand the intent of the 1 stack auctions. This works the same way on retail, you build a wall with low price of 1 stack, and then camp the AH and wait for posts of that item below your price. It takes some time to buy that wall even with AH addons so unless that price is super low, your wall will remain, while you can buyout for cheaper to flip it.

This is a fundamental problem of the AH design. We have all the listings and can choose which one to buy, so it is open to this kind of abuse. The only way to solve it would be to redesign the AH so there would be buy and sell orders, e.g. you want to buy X for Y price and wait for it to fill, from multiple people and various quantities. Same for selling.

In effect barring people from using the AH unless they use an AddOn themselves is a definite ‘red flag’ of a disruptive AddOn.

I knwo it gets annoying but just to make sure those spammers dont get any profit i just flag their names as “Addon users” and dont buy anything from them. Capitalism at its finest. I recommend you to do the same

Just keep on learning to navigate the AH without addons guys, I need addonless people on the AH so I can win many bids on blues

Edit:Keep up your undercutting eachother on bid price rather than buyout long enough and I will be able to do the same with epics

Even back then I said please Blizz implement a quantity thing on AH.

I use both LFG addon and AH addon, I don’t either is going away lol.
Just use an addon to filter ah better

they havent taken action against these addons since vanilla launch in 2004 so why should they now suddenly? all these ah addons have been around since then and obviously dont hurt anyone except some wannabe purists who forgot that already in 2004 people spamed 5pages of single stacks and used auctioneer and other addons.
