AH add-ons that are ruining Classic

I’m amazed how some things are listed below vendor price as well. What is the point in using the AH at that point.

i remember using Auctioneer in vanilla, so NO it is as it was. BUT people use it in another way.

Actually they could do that and more…

They absolutely existed. You are either a troll or delusional if you thought they did not.

Every guild member we had used auctioneer, it was a basic and pretty standard add-on. Look at the number of downloads it has jeez

So did LFG add-on.

Just because something technically existed, doesn’t mean its not destructive. If something is used by only few players, it doesn’t cause problems. It was also a completely different add-on.

Today AH is unusable without add-on. There are too many players posting single stack auctions. Blizzard did change UI to what it was in vanilla, so sorting is terrible without add-on. That makes AH add-on mandatory for being able to use auction house, which is not acceptable.

LFG technically existed in vanilla as well. Argument that something existed is invalid because it doesn’t take into account changes that happened in last 15 years. Modern add-ons are not the same, more people are using them, more people are misusing them to annoy other players.

Use your brain before calling someone a troll.

You categorically denied it’s existence, after being told countless times and by so many people, based on this (you know, brain + logic) I said you are either delusional, or a troll.

I think you should take your own advice and use your brain

Then read my posts again. Reading comprehension doesn’t seem to be something you are familiar with.

I actually just re-read your 2nd or 3rd post and you quite clearly said they did exist in vanilla. So my apologies

For clarity, I was replying to your response about something being another incorrect post (in regards to AH’ing existing in vanilla), hence the confusion on my end

It’s perfectly acceptable since is was the same in Vanilla. We got Classic, and now people like you want to mold it into something that is not Classic just to fit their little crusade against whatever part they don’t like.

Please, go back to Retail, or something else. Stop trying to change Classic into “Not Classic”. Addons like these have always been part of the game. They are free to download for everyone, so there’s no discrimination, no pay to win. There’s no problem, stop the drama.

You have memory problems. Auctionnator had exactly the same functionalities in Vanilla, and MORE because many more things could be fully automated back then.

As I said, whine less, play more. Or just go away. Don’t change Classic, it has already been changed enough compared to Vanilla.

exactly this.
Binksi acts like hes some special smart guy but in reality these things were there in the past just less people used addons in general.

Heck i even have a physical GUIDE from a german games newsmagazine from 2005 here with 10pages tips for AH business and they even recommend 4 different addons x)

I don’t remember there being hundreds of single stack pages. Maybe it was common on some realms though. I used to play on Khadgar realm back then.

That’s the thing: even if add-on could do that, fewer people used it, so they weren’t causing any problems. Just like LFG add-on. Today there are many players using it and are causing problems. Number of people using add-on makes massive difference.

I think the single stack issue is more exasperating due to server size and launch.

I still only see it on certain items though, wool cloth in particular, doesnt seem like a huge issue.

Classic shouldn’t have had Add-ons API for the first phase at all. I seems like everyone is running around with some questing add-on and bunch of other “quality of life improvements” that just alter the way the game works.

The argument is that “well Vanilla had add-ons too”, but that wasn’t the experience anyone had first time playing the game

I use none, not even equipcompare.

Just sad that nowadays Addons are mandatory and everyone take for an Alien if you ask for a direction not GPS coords.

The only add-ons I really miss are anything to give me a debuff timer (the lil shadowclock) and the vendor price when you mouse over an item!
