Either way we are both making broad statements and in his case he is making a broad statement that Blizzard has worse bot dectection which overall wasnt true. If were gonna pick Nost/Kronos as the ones to example then specify that but for OP to say Private servers had better bot dectection just simply isn’t true.
And to be honest its down to OP to make that distinction between a select couple which weren’t massively corrupt and werent riddled with issues and not make us have to assume something when he uses a broad statement like he has.

Oh I do agree, the OP could have been specific, but the point is, this is just nitpicking over semantics. Most people will mean “the good ones” when talking about private servers being much better at banning bots and hackers than Blizz.
They absolutely were better. Even something smaller like TruWoW, despite some - shall we say - unpleasant devs (like Nea), did a pretty good job stripping wintraders off their hard-wintraded gear and banned fly hackers quite promptly, for example. Some GMs with a sense of humour locked them up in jail on the GM island and took their hearthstones away.
I don’t think many are concerned about what the trashy servers did simply because they were trash anyway.

My guess is that Blizzard really really want the token in Classic so this all makes sense. Implement it in China, push most bots and gold farmers to EU/NA to go wild, pretend to care, implement the token as a solution when people beg for it.
China uses a vastly different sub/pay method than we do, which is why it was implemented in the first place

I absolutely agree this is nitpicking but it has to be done when OP is using broad statements and Im sorry but you can’t say most people will mean as you don’t know that for a fact and whilst that is probably the case its not 100% in most cases.
