Here, my Golemagg char. I’m not hiding, simply don’t care to switch.
Blizzard not playing catch up? You kidding me? Lets list just a handful of things;
2 servers at launch per area…
Layering at launch.
Unplayable lag in large PvP engagements.
Ridiculous, forced batching with far higher ticks than is required.
Some class matchup literally breaking due to batching / leeway / class bugs.
That’s just to name a few. The pservers are like a data trove of information. Did u think ungoro mafia was a joke? Blizzard did. They dedided to more than double the respawn rates of Devilsaurs in a hotfix to try stop the “problem”.
Literally everything Blizzard has done so far has not been enough. They are probably still running a skeleton crew on Classic.
As for the buff thing, thats part of that “fun to flourish” part I was talking about. It is not fun not getting ur buffs when u pop a head. It is not fun ganking a raid and then realising “oh, we didnt actually take any of their buffs cause they couldnt get them”.
Once again, go to a lower populated server and you get what you want. Don’t punish the hardcore player by being a casual player on a competitve realm. It’s so simple but all you do is cry because others have more time than yourself.
Would u please be so kind as to not hide behind an alt? Post on ur real char so we can see how you and your guild plays. I wana check the logs of a hardcore player like yourself.
If you check me, I’m in on Golemagg. Tell me if i’m hardcore enough to compete.
That is because you actually are. The Devil and the end of ‘as close as possible’.
That is precisely why it must be resisted.
Exactly. Stay locked in the uncomfortable beds you guys made for yourself. Classic is NOT about pirate mega servers. You were asked to leave and you didn’t, Blizzard is not going to do the opposite and accomodate your pirate server style coup.
You are not supposed to have fun. You are supposed to spread out to low pop servers. Or quit, that would be fine too.
That is not Blizzlike but Piratelike.
Good. If you won’t get out they will ‘starve’ you out.
It sucks but the issue happened very early when they released small amounts of servers that people refused to leave. Population wise there could have been twice as many servers(hyperbole) and while the most popular may have these population issues it could be addressed in small ways that dont affect other servers or how that server compares to others.
Edit: because on my own personal experience, my server is completely fine. Some things can be weird in price but I think that actually has more to do with smaller numbers rather than larger.
Pserver Community =/= Classic Server X Community =/= Classic Server Y Community.
What makes “Hardcore” Johny happy doesn’t make “Casual” Ricky Happy. Just saying
I’m talking directly about how things like spawns times / nodes and cooldowns affect a server.
Agree but it’s Really to early to find that balance at this Point . Look at Reason 1. What worked for a Nostalrius server won’t always work for a other server or for a Wow Classic Server.
Look at point 2. Some people like the internal Ony CD removed. Others do not. We ain’t all “Hardcore” Johny or “Casual” Ricky. You’ll always end up making someone unhappy with every decision made.(Think of people going #Nochanges)
Blizzard isn’t playing Catch up. They just a different company all together. They seem to be facing a good ol Illidan poster . But in reality i expect their looking at it from a different angle then the average Playerbase. It’s probably looking more trough Bussiness models, Market Strategies etcetera. Rather then Should we Release also I’m expecting them to never keep “Classic” running as long as some Private servers did.
Did you read my post? “They seem to be facing a good Ol’ Illidan Poster.” A.k.a. You are Not Prepared. And TBH no one could ever prepare for “Hype” Situations. Layering was a solution and a measure that. Yes it did affect the server Economy and it did lower the price of some mats as everyone i know is farming the same stuff over and over. Into Market Saturation where there’s more availability then Demand . Layering was a Needed Measure for the Tourists/Hypers. And as i said it’s a lot more cost effective to Supply on demand then oversupply.
On a game that from my perspective does give em some more Subs but does mean people will spend less since o yea that Ingame Story thing that people used to buy from. Well it ain’t in classic. So me for example ain’t spending loads anymore cause i play classic. Which means Way less Income/profit.
What lag? Other then my Guild with friends Strolling down ironforge i haven’t really seen much of that Large Pvp Engagement thing. I don’t have any clue what Batching Is and how it works Neither do i care.
About 5? Can you be a bit more specific.
Well they don’t have the Pserver Data do they? And do they really care about it? TBH Don’t QQ and hate the Company. QQ and hate the playerbase. I have seen 0 Devilsaur mafia going on in golemagg. I’ve always had plenty of buffs go around.
Personally i feel like "Welcome to Classic, Private Server Person. Finally you can play the Blizzard Entertainment Version of Wow Again. It’s 100% Impossible to recreate Vanilla as the Playerbase has “(D)evolved” . So Suck it up buttercup. And enjoy the ride Cause whatever you think it was. It isn’t/wasn’t. And you’ll just have to make due that it will never be Exactly what you wanted and it will always be a “near/as close” to Vanilla as Possible Experience. And so far it’s been spot on. Other then we don’t have Massive Lag when raiding MC. (Don’t miss the 1FPS fights) And i don’t miss anything . So far they did a good job. And hell i’m having fun Left right and center.
Literally only Blizzard and a hand full of people (in this very thread) thought that Classic wouldn’t be massive and require a ton of servers. Blizzard, in their “infinite and unfalable” wisdom, decided that 2 servers for name reservations would be enough -.-
That being said, we would still have mega servers even if they introduced a lot of servers. It’s just the best part of the game imo, seeing a lot of real players as apposed to basically bots u see in retail atm.
This would have been the end result regardless, though to a lesser degree as we are seeing it now.
@Shroomie, I am glad you are having fun. I am also having fun, but there needs to be some things implemented (like the dynamic spawn adjustments to big servers) to make it stay fun. (i cant really answer ur post since it’s a text wall).
Yeah it seems that some will want the higher population no matter what. I remember people thinking that 8k is average/low at one time.
I had my fun with high pop and I had never done it with a more controlled population before, I think it was really interesting seeing the differences in pattern availability for example between servers. On my server, every rare raid pattern was a big deal.
Sorry About Wall of text that’s somehow my thing. I’m called Essay man. Tried to make it a bit more Readable or Understandable. xD Don’t kill me it’s already hard for me to Communicate as i Don’t have a Filter. Just saying any and all deviations is always going to Piss off some people and they’ll have a never ending cycle of complaints regardless of what they do. So it’s more or less finding something that’s good Economical and that’s good Quality aswell.
I don’t think so because those would have most likely been capped Vanilla style.
The only reason you people got a chance to mimic your pirate server crap is because of layering and Blizzard beeing extremely afraid of ending up with a lot of dead servers again.
I can only imagine the trauma they seem to have suffered from that seeing how they went out of their way to avoid that this time around.
Agree, the fix is a no-brainer. Set the concurrent player cap to around 3k like in Vanilla. We were promised the authentic Vanilla experience, not this overcrowded Frankenstein’s monster.
Player X: Our server is too crowded, we can’t farm X and also Y is too expensive! Please fix, Blizzard! Make this game more retail because private server Z also broke basic mechanics to cater to their playerbase!
Player Y: You have a free transfer to completely normal-pop servers that don’t have a queue and a healthy economy and stable raider base.
Player X: LMAO DEAD SERVER R U RETARDED?~!!!11111111
Why would anyone leave a mega server? It’s way more fun in a world thats just crawling with activity. I mean there are other arguments to not transfer but for me this is the main one.
Considering the fix as I said in the OP, this should be a no-brainer to anyone.
Absolutely, I can see where you’re coming from. It’s awesome to see a faction city full of people and have all the LFG channels buzzing with people all the time. It’s great.
The downside is, there are more people competing for resources. And Blizzard have given you the choice to avoid it by transferring to a server where you have less competition.
What you’re proposing is not a “fix”, it’s a QoL change arbitrarily made in a private server. The next thread will be for LFR because “I can’t make it on time with my own guild because the queue is bad, please fix Blizzard.”
