Can we ban Auctioneer?

Addon preferences is where I draw the line in #VanillaExperience personally.
I bet that there were also AH addons during the lifetime of pre TBC WoW

It’s also not Classic to have 99.9% of the gaming machines we have today.

There comes a point when trying to be faithful to Vanilla becomes stupid and destructive. A small AH improvement isn’t going to ruin anything.

I used the Tradeskillmaster a lot in retail when I played that.

And I agree to OP, I think this should not be allowed in Classic or there should be limits to what it can do.

The problem is the mass posting and undercutting the auction seconds after you post a new auction. You don’t have much chance to sell anything if you are not using the addon yourself.

I think there should be a limit to how many actions you can create pr hour, and it should be low. Maybe 10-15 pr hour. That would also encourage people to post in stacks.

Sure I agree but I think your complaints will fall on deaf ears, sorry.

That’s not a problem with the add-on it’s a problem with the user’s understanding of supply and demand.

Perhaps there were.
I for one, never used an addon in my life - gotta say I love it

Well this thread exists, it’s not the first of its kind I have seen, and I don’t see any listing all the non-Vanilla stuff Classic players are taking advantage of right now and complaining about it.

So maybe not.

The same addons that you want banned, allow you to filter auctions by stack sizes. So go install Auctioneer, Aux or something similar, problem solved.

And if your answer is “I don’t want to play with an Auctioneering Addon”, then sorry to tell you this, but it’s not Blizzards job to cater to the needs of the 3% of people who enjoy Auctionhouse-based masochism.

For cloth and leather its annoying, but as an engineer, i make bronze tubes. Trying to sell them per stack is nearly impossible, people only buy them because there needed for a quest and they only need 1.

More filter options would be nice, but thats exactly what the auctioneer addon your wanting to ban does.

it’s a retail meme that won’t work in classic as most people aren’t gonna buy single items for their professions, you put up everything in single items so only people with auction addons can properly do mass buyouts in classic? expect nothing to sell my dude cause that’s what i’ve been seeing, just loads of retail kiddies with 0 understanding of virtual economies PUTTING STUFF ON THE AUCTION HOUSE LOWER THAN VENDOR PRICE

LOWER THAN THE PRICE THEY GET FROM SELLING THE SAME ITEMS TO THE VENDOR YOU HEARD THAT RIGHT FOLKS PEOPLE ARE REALLY STUPID

you absolutely love to see it folks, so many deals to be made right now, king of the deals here getting tired of winning so many deals.

Even while having AH addons myself I will only be posting in the largest stacks I can, classic style.

Yeah I do not get what is the major malfunction of the people who put stuff on AH at their vendor or less price.

Because posting in stacks of one is literally cheaper in vanila . Example linen cloth deposit price of stack of 1 is 0 copper (free) while if u post a stack of 20 is like 20copper.

That would make sense then if it’s to save money.

That is one hell of an assumption.

I know several people who doesn’t use auction add-ons who post single items instead of a full stack.

It is annoying but you don’t need auction add-ons to do that.

Yeah I’ve seen that too, the worst was Hillmans shoulders. I’m an LW so wanted to sell all the ones I made.
They vendor for 11s99c and deposit is 2s35c. People were listing them at 12s50c so it’s too high for me to buy and sell to vendor for profit, but it’s also too low for them to make profit because of deposit. So nobody wins.

So the auction house wont take that much of a cut.

But if the stacks of 1 isn’t selling… you aren’t going to lose anything.

You’re gaining the 20 copper back once ye sell it.

they are selling in my experience never had a non sold stacks of 1 ofc if i have to sell like 200+ i would sell them in stack of 20 mostly

Yeah, that’s what people are doing.
They’re selling 200 in stacks of 1.

Which is what people are hating.
