I have just now realised my PVP server (Flameslash) is dead. No alliance and little horde. It was already bad playing in a really imbalanced PVP realm but this does it.
Instead of trying to solve the problem you ruin the server and the experience of many.
I cannot comprehend why you had to ruin our server to make another better. I do understand the problem from the alliance side but maybe you could merge the two servers instead of deeming one dead.
What are we supposed to do now? I logged in today after some days of a lot of work when I was not able to log in. I realised you killed our server.
Next time please do something that will collectively benefit the server. You have now ruined the remaining peoples experience. We, the remainders, are people that refused to go through the mess of losing valuables (items and gold), refused to leave our friends, refused to follow the idea of going to a larger server while killing our initial server for our realm-mates, didnât have time to organise a whole guild transfer or just did not know.
Personally I didnt even know this was happening and did not have time to respond even if I wanted to change realm.
I dont want to believe that you are going to leave us stranded like that. I hope it was all a miscalculation and that you will find a place for us too.
P.S. the server looks nothing like what it looked liked some days ago.
Youâd be surprised. Spending 95% of your time âPvPingâ actually just running around trying to find someone to fight isnât exactly riveting gameplay either.
I know a lot of Horde who would switch from Stonespine (70/30?) to a 50/50 or even 40/60 server if they where given the chances.
Lol the low pop servers had transfers open from Stonespine for over a month, Bloodfang and Dragonfang are close to 50/50, where are these horde willing to transfer? xD
To echo what someone said above: Most people didnât know.
I didnât know there was a general(?) transfer occurring that ended on the 6th, and I bet most of my guildies didnât either.
Blizzard are really bad at announcing these things.
Most people donât visit the forums. Where are the in-game messages and links? Or the messages and links on Battlenet?
Also, these transfers where before PvP launched.
Before PvP launched, the last census showed a 54/46 balance ratio for Stonespine, (it was pretty outdated, but it was the only one we had), so why would anyone leave?
I dont understand it. Why waiting for a external fix when you (they) could have fixed the issue themselves. Why roll on the dominant faction and then hope for them to fix it for you? Donât tell me âwe didnât know horde was dominantâ cuz Iâd be cackling at it. Beside those legit players who can/must only play shaman, everyone else could have played the exact same but on alliance?
I started my classic career on Stonespine the first week after launch.
Server was balanced at the time, and continued to be so for quite some time.
I could re-roll now and try to get my guild to go with me (unlikely), but with 2 60âs and a ton of hours /played (with all that entails), Iâd rather just quit than start over, especially given the volatile nature of the game currently.
And no, I didnât know Horde would be this dominant. Cackle all you want, but understand this; Most people havenât been playing vanilla private servers for the last decade. Our only point of reference is actual vanilla, and it was no where near this unbalanced, at least not on the servers I played on back then (AlâAkir and The Venture Co.)
Itâs not a game decision, its a community decision. In all the time passed before classic went live, in every single 3d there was someone shouting âno changesâ.
The community didnât want any changes, they gave us no changes. Vanilla had no faction cap, but population inbalance wasnât so much harsh because people started without knowing the future.
Today we know everything, have a tons more horde player was just a matter of time.

You know just as well as the rest of us that levelling in classic is a ball ache, even once i reached level 30 i will refuse to re roll, too much effort that itâs not worth.
By level 30 i had no clue of the horde:alliance ratio, infact when i was in stonetalon it was dominated by ally the entire time i was there, i was none the wiser.
And blizzard refuse to release official realm statistics.
They dont keep us informed that the servers are heading this way.
They keep it on the hush, allow transfers for both factions without making it clear that these transfers are open to the majority of players (i do not frequent the forums).
So that the alliance have planned this in trade chat and the majority of the horde had no clue it was happening until the deadline was announced yesterday, 24 hours before the closure.

And yes, i am one of the people who would happily change to alliance, i would happily be on the underdog faction, but iâm not going to level again.
I would much rather be able to form a small group and find wpvp traffic in the less popular zones (blasted lands / ungoro) and risk them forming a bigger group to counter us, at which point we could just leave the area.
As opposed to scouring the entire map to find a spot that isnt heaving with your own faction so you can attempt to get some wpvp action that isnt scavving over a tag for 18 honor points.
Let me faction transfer and i happily will, along with plenty of others⌠just dont offer ally --> horde transfers also.
Offer free faction transfers for horde, make an announcement about it, and people will go.
Not checking the forums or any other platform in the matter is not a justification; rather an aggravating. Your fault for not informing, especially when the server was announced half a year in advance.

Why should it be expected of me to keep up to date with news that isnt being presented to me when it is important enough that it has now broken multiple servers.
Your opinion is incredibly blinkered.
Not even 10% of the community keeps up to date with the official forums.
The gave the deadline announcement 24 hours before the transfer window closed.
How many people do you think frequent the forums daily?
The only reason a large chunk of the alliance population knew about this was becasue they had discussed it in trade/global.
Ok so how can it be addressed? blizzard contacting all of you individually everytime? Same could be said with in-game messages, eh but I keep my chat on another tab, eh but there is so much spam i couldnt see that message, eh but I wasnât online at that time, etc. Same could be said with any other form of comunication from Blizzard, actually forums is the easiest even compared to in game messages, the blue posts are always pinned. Oneâs fault to DECIDE not to read them.

You know when they plan a maintenance every weds and that box pops up on your character select and login screen?
That.

I pay to play a game, i dont pay to have to keep up to date with the forums every day for the off chance that they might announce something game breaking with 24 hours notice. Just becasue you use the forums doesnt mean everyone else shouldâŚ
So you are suggesting
that people that are now stuck without their consent in a dead server while they had chosen a high popularity PVP server, enduring the queues and everything a high popularity server is connected with
is just fine?
im still paying for the game and I would like it to respect my decisions and not alter them without me being informed
