Outside Shadowlands it has the best performance out of all versions.
And do you need 10 bosses per raid with a 1-minute encounter like in Vanilla? 10+ minute encounters in HC/Mythic are more memorable and way better than pressing 1111111111111111111111.
Yet it’s extremely popular and since Legion became a core part of the game. It’s not like guilds want bindings or a few loot pieces and will want to clear MC weekly for a year. Now that’s boring…
And not everyone wants to play the game on a schedule and raid weekly. Times change and now rarely do people want to be forced to play a video game week by week. Classic is no different - raids are speedrun, players seek speedrun guilds or GDKP to get gear and stop touching the raid.
Both retail and classic are played in the same way and have the same type of players. Years ago “raiding guild” raided multiple days a week. Nowadays 2 days is already “a lot” while more and more people want 2 hours in one day or less. And in retail, you don’t even have to raid. There is M+, Delves, and whatever they come up with.
People actually do (and the dungeons rotate between seasons). And not like in Anniversary right now the majority of RMT customers are buying because of FOMO - that they will miss a reset on an ancient raid often dropping junk items. People won’t chill even when knowing TBC will reset the gear.
TWW has lower number of m+ and raiding characters than the last season of DF and much lower than shadowlands had. You just say nonsense. TWW is a terrible expansion. All real critics (like Asmon for example) have quit already and only blizzard shills left to praise this expansion. That’s how it became “good”.
You just need to play the game to realize, that m+ now is in the WORST shape in it’s history. Absolutely worst iteration it ever had. Even DF which I despise had amazing m+. Class balance is also in shambles, where you play prot pala or you suffer endless one-shot casts (after changes to mobs spellqueue). 15sec death penalty is also probably the worst thing devs had made for m+ (on par with creation of Aug evoker).
M+ fun ended somewhere in BfA/end of Legion but the mode itself was and is a good idea for end-game content.
The game got overcomplicated, bloated with excess everything and tries way to much with "competitive"attitude. If they don’t reboot the game after “The Final Titan” then it’s game over. Other MMOs already fighting for newer generations of players with console versions and soon dedicated clones for touch screen/mobile. Classic is good for milking 30-40yo WoW population but that is getting smaller with every year. Soon WoW Classic Classic Classic will have a colab promoting colonoscopy…
Last 5 expansions? My man you don’t know what you are talking about, but that’s the classic andys in general they don’t know what they are talking about but making wild assumptions.
Legion has 5 raids in different sizes aswell as MORE than 8 dungeons. They were also introducing a lot of new things in comparison to former expansions.
Retail has consistently the biggest playerbase out of all versions and when retail is dead then i would consider classic an walking corpse at best… but why is retail consistently the biggest? Maybe because it’s not that bad after all? to call everyone who plays it a shill is cope because the sample size is too big. For my part i don’t play retail anymore but i don’t call it bad, i just prefer classic at the moment because i played dragonflight and realized they actually did some steps towards the right directions since shadowlands. that being said we already moved past shadowlands lil bro.
tbh these “shills” can give a better review of the expansions then classic shills who don’t play TWW at all and don’t know what they are talking about.
It’s dead, got temporarily rebooted when players invented HC challenge. And when it got more players they quickly moved to PvE due to Naxx boys ganking freshmans.
And most players start to quit before AQ when vanilla is progressing.
Come back when you know what you are talking about.
Classic Era is definarely not dead. What you see is a lack of new levellers on Era - they pick Fresh. But that’s only temporarely. When the Anniversary realms are gone (moved to TBC) then Era (and HC) is still the only place with the Classic experience.
When Classic MoP will be out people will go play that, when Anniversary TBC will be out people will go play that. Era will have 4K vs 4K on IronForge while whatever recent Classic will have 20K vs 20K or more.
3.3k raiders per week are 83, 40 man raids, per week.
And by the way - You need to check your history, since you obviously do not know what you are talking about. Here is a link to a post from December '22 about where Era was back then, 8 months before Hardcore got officially released. It has 192 likes and 225 comments, from a thriving community.
We have been listening to the “its dead” song for a long time - Yet here we are. Must be rough for the haters.
MMO in Europe having 8K population is not a viable business.
I leveled a hunter on Era more than a year ago when it was on the popularity wave. Even before I picked Era for my hunter I saw your posts and it looks like you are constantly subscribed and constantly seeking validation for your Era.
Someone makes a stupid “changes” topic - you are there triggered. Someone isn’t happy with Era pop/wants fresh/is happy playing other version - you show up trying to advertise Era in every cringe way possible.
Before Anniversary announcement people were constantly asking about fresh on reddit, no one really wanted to play on Era. Now Anniversary has full layers and even less care for Era. Then MoP, then TBC. Era will exist but will always be the lowest population.
Actually it is you who has been attacking Era in most posts in the past few weeks.
I said here not to forget Era and Hardcore,in case anybody out there may want to consider them → Your answer: “its dead”.
This is the perfect example as to why I engage. I have been constant in saying I am happy if people are enjoying Anniversary, or SoD or whatever they choose to play. If you were simply cool/positive about Era as well, despite all the bad sides it has, I would only have liked your posts. End of. But you are not, so that’s that.
And you have already mentioned the hunter story a few times. It sounds like trauma. Had I known about you when you were playing, I would have tried to help out to make things better. I am serious about this.
On other topics by the way I think you are on point. In fact, as you know, I have liked some of your posts. But bashing Era for no reason is calling for Bananoid to show up.
Some people say they want gdkp banned because it affects the economy. It’s a lie. They want it banned because in SR runs the lazy, toxic and memers have the same chance on loot as those who put in effort. It’s more difficult getting DFT on your melee weaving hunter in gdkp than in an abundance of SR runs.
They could even make their own SR runs but they don’t want to put in the effort.
Identical situation to when they banned wbuffs for SOM. The slackers were tired of putting in effort, and instead of shaping up, or making their own non-wbuff runs/guilds which there was nothing preventing them from doing, they asked for a blanket wbuff ban.
In terms of what OP wrote, it’s really silly for the many GDKPers who don’t buy gold – which contrary to popular belief of the intellectually deficient is not the majority – where the economy is completed busted WITHOUT gdkp and I have no way to cover consumes other than farming for hours. I.e. i cba playing fresh.
Blizzard simply doesn’t care to remove RMT, they get too much income out of it aswell

that should link to a very interesting YT video about it.
It’s very sad that a game with a subscription AND in-game store also wants to milk the illicit pay-to-win happening in its game…
