[H-RP] ⚔ [Warband RP] The Ashen - Showing up for the Horde!

Who are the Ashen?

The Ashen is a group that’s been around on and off since Legion [2017].
Throughout our journey we’ve encountered many different types of enemies be it from the Alliance, Cultists, Demons and even the Scourge to magical beasts we managed to conquer throughout our many journeys and win many battles whilst also facing gruelling losses over the years.

We also, explored the vast new lands such as the Broken Isles, Zuldazar and the forgotten kingdom of Kul’Tiras in efforts for the 4th and continue on to this day finding new lands, areas and enemies to clash against!

The Ashen’s rules, settings and core fundamentals are that it has always and always will be a form of Warband that rely solely on their bonds forged from battle and losses alike.

Which means it is the characters that drive the Ashen’s story forwards rather than the concept.

What do we The Ashen offer?

What we offer to Roleplayers and to players in general is a vibrant community that is always making a come back and always doing all sorts of stuff together.

A lot of us have been friends for a multitude of years and others have been in the guild in more recent times and become main stay ons for the group and characters we cannot go without.

We offer constant events and things to do whilst online and around be it from the OOC content below or through RP with us setting off for mini one shot adventures to keep our hands busy for the night.

We actively partake in a bit of side stuff away from RP if people want.
Things such as M+ and Raids and multiple deaths & wipes with our fellow PuG’s.

We offer a community and a great place to just vibe out and relax.

Finally what good is a Warband without a cast of characters that love a good drink and love a chance to forge their friendships both IC and OOC? :beers:

It’s always a place that can offer great character building and interwoven stories with the chaotic ragtags and stoic warriors alike.

What are we looking for?

Here at the Ashen we’re looking for people who are just happy to vibe, create stories and have fun. We’re a group dedicated on keeping things laidback and relaxed but with the action packing a nice smack!

We all have busy lives and things going on that can detract our attention from the game and sometimes we could do with our attention detracted from the real world.

What we look for in our members from an OOC standpoint are people who are looking to be part of the Community and not just a number in the guild. They want to do things proactively and they want to RP.

We also are looking for people who are looking for some good storylines and narrative arcs that involve your character and eventually the progress of them becoming a core part of our merry group.

We don’t want people feeling the burnout and we don’t want the expectation of people to be online all the time and attending things all the time. WoW and RP is a hobby firstly and foremostly and you are not going to be scorned for not being about.

All we ask is a bit of communication about when people are about and wanting to do stuff and to keep the RP focused in the guild.

Recruitment & The Ashen

The Ashen are welcoming of MOST who walks the path to better themselves and better the Horde .
Meaning we do NOT exclude MOST Race or Class combination that makes sense in Lore and the WoW universe.

People will be held at certain standards however these can range from complex hero classes and certain races to what your character can offer the Ashen in general.

An example of what we won’t accept; A civillian like character and/or character who cannot Fight / Heal / Assist the cause.

An Example of what we would accept; A character who is eager to learn how to fight and has some experience in the battlefield that can be built and progressed on.

We are currently No longer accepting Vulpera. This is due to many issues with previous Vulpera characters and people that have joined. We do not judge everyone but we have decided it is for the best that we no longer accept the Vulpera race within the Ashen. Thusly, we will give you an apology if you’re a Vulpera player.

If you are looking to join the Ashen please contact the following;

  • Myself in game; Felentrick (Alternatively my Discord; Scuffather0)

  • Khewehe (Khe’weh)

  • Xentü (Xen’tu)

The Story

[It’s been a year confirmed since Dragonflight occurred and inbetween that The Ashen was on hiatus in July and we was away when Pre-patch was happening. Though realistically it’s been a couple of months we’ve came up with our story and thesis of how things will go.]

The General after the events of Iridikron’s depature to the Void and the Horde returning home, had left to track down the Cult of the Drowned after the Ashen encountered them in a plethora of missions and jobs that was cropping up in similar locations, a real case of Deja Vu.

Having figured out it was infact the return of the Cult he had to leave and see where they was planning on striking next.

With the General departing he took along with him some of the more elite troops of the Ashen as a form of death squad and left the others to look after things whilst he was away.

It’s been a year and a lot of the Ashen have disbanded and gone their separate ways.
A not so uncommon thing to occur when the leader is vacant and the Group is left to sit in a Fort bored out of their minds.

Though Felentrick, returned with a few of the squad that set out with him and aims to reband his former Companions and Battle-Kin and take the fight to Khaz Algar and the Cult of the Drowned.

With, such rumours of new people, new faiths, new trade and potentially allies. The Ashen are to set out as soon as they’ve rebanded and resettled for a moment.

Ranks of the Ashen

Officer Team – Officer Ranks are also purely IC they will only assist with OOC cases should it be asked / needed.

General - Overall Leader

Centurion - The Iron Fist, the devout, the justicar and bringer of battle the Centurion is the General’s Right Hand.

Legionnaire - The Legionnares are a branch of the Ashen who have stood through the test of time and became one of the main Officers within the Warband.

Sergeant - The Sergeant is a lesser ranking and a first stepping stone in the officer path of the Ashen. This is where they begin to feel the burdens of leadership. Tasked with keeping the Ashen’s wild group in line whilst maintaining respect, honor and keeping good face for the Division. Is this the rank that makes or breaks you in our path?

CORE RANKS / Non Officers

Honorsworn - The Honorsworn of the Ashen are those who have personally pledged their alleigance and oaths of fealty to the General instead of the Horde or alike. The Honorsworn are some of the most trusted and respected warriors in the Ashen and are similar to the Battle-kin with being role models and it The Highest honorary ranking one could attain.

Battle-Kin - A role model and stand out soldier for others to follow. People who have followed with no waiver and people who have always been there when called upon and needed. To be part of the Battle-kin is one of the highest honorary rankings in the group.

Companion - Beloved friends and fighters, people who are fondly looked upon as the main core of the Ashen and the people who make the Ashen what it is.

Unblooded - Someone who has just recently joined to the warband and signed up, the starting ranking of the group people who’re considered “Unblooded” don’t stay clean for long!

The sea churned with relentless fury. Standing at the helm of the Ashen’s warship, the Zandalari witch-doctor clutched his staff tightly, golden tusks gleaming under the flash of storm-light. The Isle of Dorn was out there, just beyond the horizon, hidden beneath the swirling tempest. He could feel it in his bones, the dark magic pulsing from the isle, calling to him like a haunting whisper carried on the winds.
But for a year now, the storm had kept him at bay.

“Still nothin’, friend?” came a familiar voice, soft but edged with an old warrior’s steel. Rafu didn’t need to turn to recognize Felentrick’s presence. The Blood Elf General moved with an effortless grace that was second nature to him after years of battle. His ebon-and-gold armor shimmered faintly even under the oppressive storm clouds.

Felentrick leaned against the ship’s railing, green eyes narrowing as he studied Rafu’s face. His long, crimson hair was tied back neatly, his usually calm expression clouded with concern.

Rafu shook his head, rain mixing with the beads in his braided hair. “De spirits still be silent, Fel. Every time I try ta reach out to dem, da storm shuts me out. Da same as before.”

Felentrick sighed, his sharp features tightening. “We’ve lingered too long, Rafu. High Command’s orders are clear. Orgrimmar is mustering troops. This storm… it’s beyond our strength for now. We must regroup. The Ashen has longed for our return…”

A year ago, they had tried to breach the Isle of Dorn, seeking to break the curse that clung to its shores. What had awaited them instead was a nightmare—dark magic unleashed, a malevolent force neither of them had been prepared to face. They had barely escaped with their lives, leaving comrades behind. Rafu had lived with the weight of that failure every day since.

He lowered his head. “Aye, but it still calls to me, Fel. Da spirits, dey be restless, cryin’ out from dat cursed isle. We ain’t finished here.”

Felentrick placed a hand on his friend’s shoulder, his grip firm yet filled with understanding. “We will return. But the Horde needs us now, and the Ashen is not strong enough to face this storm, not yet.” His voice softened. “You know I believe in you, Rafu. When the time comes, we will face Dorn again. Together.”

Rafu closed his eyes briefly, the weight of Felentrick’s words steadying him. The Blood Elf had been by his side through countless battles, from the jungles of Zandalar to the burning sands of Tanaris. His loyalty was unwavering, and though their people had walked different paths, in the Ashen guild, they had become brothers.

“Aye,” Rafu said finally, opening his eyes to meet Felentrick’s gaze. “We go back to Orgrimmar. But da storm, it waits for us. And we’ll be ready.”

Felentrick smiled, a usual sight on the battle-hardened elf. “Then let’s make sure we’re ready when the time comes.”

As they turned to head below deck, the storm roared behind them, as though furious that its prey was slipping away once more. Rafu cast one last glance over his shoulder at the swirling clouds, the sense of foreboding still lingering in his chest.

Whatever darkness awaited on the Isle of Dorn, it had not seen the last of him or the Ashen.

The road home to Orgrimmar stretched before them, but Rafu knew their path would lead back to Dorn. The spirits would see to it. And when the time came, he would be prepared to face the storm again. This time with all the strength of the Horde at his back.

You know how long we’ve been waiting for this?

The Ashen are back from hiatus early as we begin to approach the new Campaign coming up and the Kosh’harg season, we wanted to let people know we was fully back and if people are interested in joining that our focus to RP is more clear and straightforward!

A lot of people and friends alike have been asking when we’d be IC so we thought! Heck! Why not do it now!

For the upcoming campaign we’re gonna make a new name for ourselves there!

If these are the people I think they are, and the previous posts linked does give me some sense of recollection with character names, then this should be a good guild for Horde RPers.
Should be interesting to see if my memory is serving me correct here.

We probably are the people you might be thinking off or maybe we aren’t :eyes:

You’ll never know…!

Lovely guild, lovely people. All around one of the best communities to be a part of.

If their handsome zandalari shaman offers you to smoke from his pipe you should accept it always.

Shout out to this guild, true Horde player will know how to appreciate Ashen being back!!

Felen is a great dude, and his team is even better.

Haven’t had a chance to meet this reborn Ashen, and I’d pay to see their first interaction with Kemuro’s Grimtusk Offensive.

Cheers to both upper mentioned guilds and keep up the good work!!!

A wonderful first day at the Kosh’harg where the Ashen have partook in the ceremonies and the Wolf-riding competition!

The General himself even managed to make it all the way through and claim victory as the ONLY contestant to Survive as well as taking FIRST PLACE!!
Even with a lot of disadvantages such as Hodari and Khe’wehs wonderous Zandalari mushrooms!

Drohka fought valiantly and managed to last three rounds against the buckling beasts!

A wonderous Kosh’harg so far and if you’re interested in joining or even just meeting the Ashen be sure to pop along and say hello!

Ya aint Ashen if ya aint loud !!!

Truly an Ashen night to forget at the Kosh’harg!

Here’s to Day #3 !

The last night of the Kosh’harg is upon us and the Ashen have enjoyed their time thoroughly!

A great big thanks to the many people who showed up to the Kosh’harg and a round of applause for the Banner of Winter Sun for once again holding a great initative and gathering. :dracthyr_nod:

So as the Ashen begin packing up and returning back to Orgrimmar we look to the brighter futures and the fights ahead for our merry band of warriors and allies alike!

After tonight the Ashen can be found back in the Valley of Honor again! Where we have been coking up a lil’ somethin’ somethin’…

We plan to bring this around for the Ashen primarily as something for us to do but we are hoping that people will get involved and enjoy themselves as well.

Please do look below;

With the Ashen resettled back in Orgrimmar no sooner could news come for the upcoming mission that they have been briefed on.

There is news of a troop of voidsworn and humans alike enroaching upon the Overgrowth that has assaulted the Peons and Grunts that was working on repairing that damned bridge of the Chasm!

Most of the peons didn’t make it unfortunately however those who did make it back identified a rather large tendrily looking Void-Knight and Commander.

This man is called “General Kromund” and with it his voidsworn allies seek to sweep into the chasm and corrupt the elements within! Without a doubt if they succeed in this the Northern Barrens and potentially Durotar can be affected massively!

The Ashen begin their operation tonight on the Orders of Warlord Rekmash to and we quote;
“Kindly wipe these cretins off this side of Azeroth’s map and bring the head of General Kromund and his lieutenants!”

Since then the Ashen have deployed and came across multiple void threats in the area.

Attacking and assaulting the enemy lines they have managed to find themselves upon the old Tauren graveyard in the overgrowth where upon they encountered a faceless one trying to raise and reanimate the tauren corpses as void puppets aswell as use the shamans resting there to become the Void’s alternative dark shamans.

The Ashen dispatched their foe and set fire to the graveyard allowing the Tauren’s spirits to return to An’she and their ancestors!

Today and through the night they march on towards Desolation Hold where they have heard that the enemy; General Kromund has sent his lieutenants to assault with his cultist and other voidly users!

After the Ashen faced the enemies on the road to Desolation Hold they had found that the area was already raided and ransacked. Very few remained from the initial assault.
Having realised the enemy was more prepared and had the Ashen surrounded a brutal battle begun where most of the Ashen almost ended up losing their own minds and even lives!

On their way there they found themselves surrounded by a thick fog created by a corrupted Tidesage relic brought along with the K’thir forces that was aiding the Kul’tiran we know as General Kromund.

Once the Ashen had managed to penetrate through into Desolation Hold it was there they had found Kromund was reaping souls to be devoured and fuelled as his own corruptive magic.

Having arrived Kromund began his monologue but the Ashen didn’t give him even more than three seconds before Honorsworn Rafu dived in to assault the General only to be nearly cleaved asunder in one strike. The enemy fully fuelled was not going to be easy but something pulled him into an escape…A void portal opened and Kromund was dragged through by strange void tendrils and out emerged two of his Lieutenants instead.

During the battle with the Lieutenants the Ashen General was locked in combat keeping them at bay whilst the rest of the Ashen had to deal with a lot of the other problems. Namely the K’thir who was bombarding from all around the settlement. With the General locked in combat and unable to act he took a fair few strikes before Centurion Khe’weh and Honorsworn Rafu was able to jump in and aid in the battle of attrition.

It had become an arms race of who could inflict the most damage and fortunately it seems the Ashen’s gods or deities was on their sides as they managed to clean up the K’thir casters quickly and drop the veil of the fog.

Having defeated the K’thir it was a joint effort of the Ashen to kill one of the Lieutenants but it was Hodari’s arrow that stuck true to it’s course on the second Lieutenant who was about to give dire information that the Ashen needed for where the General’s forces was located.

Though, we did not get this information from the Lieutenant we did find reports and maps of troop movement left behind around Desolation Hold and it was there that we found out our enemy was located in Theramore’s ruins which made sense with the amount of magical power that can be found there.

Later the next day a scouting party was sent out and it is there that the Ashen have found out there enemy is fully entrenched and reinforced via void portals around the ruins which have garnered new strength for the enemy General’s forces.

Now in a situation where tactics should be considered carefully the General sent out a missive and aid to Orgrimmar to which they’ve been told that more reinforcements are en route to assist the Ashen in it’s mounted assault on Theramore’s Ruins.

Whilst the Ashen wait and recuperate for it’s forces we can only imagine the horror of what our enemy is continuing to do tonight amongst the Marshes…

Just an update on where we’re at in our story!

[ Last night in regards to the finalé. ]

The Ashen prepared thoroughly for their offensive strategies upon the ruined keep of Theramore and rode out to aid the Grunt division that was aiding alongside them.

Once they arrived upon the Field of Conflict which in this case was the many broken bridges leading up to the ruins of Theramore, the Grunts took the Eastern Front and the Ashen was tasked with driving the main entry down through the South.

A brutal battle took place and the enemy came in waves. First it was K’thir and vile sorcery then it was Void-touched and Ren’dorei then lastly upon the breaking of the walls was a larger foe to hew.

Though for the Eastern Front the Grunts managed to carve through their enemies they was held back by the closed and repaired gates to which they first brought a battering ram to try and break entry. Finding most of their people suddenly ripped apart by the Sorcerers on the High Wall they brought the only Warsong Demolisher that High Command tasked them with.

Once the Demolisher got to work it made light work of bringing down the doors and walls of the Keep but at a price of the enemy General’s ire who managed to effectively wipe out the Grunts.

Without any remaining back up or support from their once newfound allies on the Eastern Front the Ashen was in for it. Put through the ringer as the enemy’s main forces was able to focus solely on them.

Though, as the Ashen had finished their battle with the second reinforcements, the Ren’dorei brought forth a void portal and a large void orb that slammed down and consumed the remainder of the bridge. To Kromund’s ire and delight he realised what it was they actually did after he cut them down for foolishly breaking apart more of their secure land.

The Ashen broken, battered and bruised against the ground had to find the last embers of their strength and effectively “Rise from the Ashes” of their battle as the Kromund’s beast appeared. A large squid-like creature garbed in a void marbelling to the Flesh and aura.

A long battle took place and if it weren’t for the Ashen’s new found Companions; Drohka and Gorchak they would’ve surely perished. But Drohka and Gorchak managed to establish a connection back to the Elements to aid and mend the major wounds of the Ashen’s forces.

With that Viziosa claimed the main kill against the large ‘Kraken’. Allowing the Ashen to push into the main keep where their last battle took place.

Kromund was desperate at this point and he had summoned Faceless Ones to his side which tormented the Ashen through and through and tested them to their absolute mental peaks. Though the Ashen managed to settle the score between the Faceless, Kromund absorbed the essences and paid a price too high that his mortal shell could not take.

His body broken, writhed and contorted as it was trying to absorb and accept the Faceless’ essences but it was only tearing him apart even more. The Ashen had to be quick in their kill before the simulacrum of the faceless was complete…

It was the joint efforts that disabled their opponent but it was Battle-Kin Hodari who claimed the kill upon the Enemy General and before the Ashen got a chance to rest from their long-extended battle they was drawn into a void portal and forced to surf amongst the cosmos before landing straight into a pool of water in Durotar…

The battle was done and the Ashen was discombobulated thinking it was void trickery and sorcery at play as they walked through Orgrimmar again. Many of the passer-byers in the City may of thought them strange and weird but, after what they had just gone through…Nothing could be weirder than being placed back into safety.

So that rounds up what was meant to actually just be a single event! Instead it seems that we ended up making a whole little mini-campaign out of it! But it was fun and I hope that the Ashen enjoyed themselves whilst partaking in the mini-campaign.

We also garnered a new member throughout this Campaign an ally who heard the General’s call and wished to aid alongside the Ashen in battle.

To which the Ashen now welcome, Baohu the Disgraced Shado-Pan who seeks to reclaim his honor and be welcomed back to his homeland eventually and it is alongside the Ashen that the General has vowed will return him there.

The Ashen now find themselves back in Orgrimmar for a while to rest and recuperate though with 2 weeks until the Echoes of the Abyss campaign begins and a week to burn we might get involved in a little something-something whilst we’re waiting!

Thanks for reading if you made it this far and we hope to see you all IC and around!

If you are interested in joining the Ashen or just chatting and conversing with our diverse roster just drop on by the Valley and you’ll be able to find us!
