I cannot transfer my own alt to my server, because its locked. Does that make any sense?
Yes, they don’t want anyone going to the locked realms, and it is an all or nothing thing.
This is what they should be doing. block transfers to the server but still allow people to roll fresh chars.
Yes, I understand the logic in preventing even alt transfers between the lowpop/full servers. Transfers of alts from lowpop to full servers was a huge problem. The alts were used to clean the AH of consumables (much higher value on full servers). This inflated the prices on the low pop servers and kept prices artificially low on full servers. The incentive for players is then to roll/migrate on full servers as prices are much the same, but finding groups for dungeons/raids is far easier on the full server. This is the exact opposite of what blizzard (and much of the playerbase on the full servets) want players to do.
Not convinced. So I am re-creating my alt instead at lvl 1, needing more time, being more frustrated. Why not allowing me to transfer my alt at mid level range instead?
I am actively playing on that locked realm. The alt was just parked on another server for other reasons
Still unable after so many days of waiting to join my friends and play with them. imagine an mmo-rpg that you have to play solo and not being able to play with your actual friends while paying a monthly subscription (therefore expecting a bit better quality of experience than all the games without subscription and surpisingly none of them forbids you to play with your friends)
Completely dissapointing.
To those that will ask why we are not rolling on a low pop realm all together:
Its phase 4. We already are beyond the midle of the game’s lifecycle. After putting almost 9 months of effort on seting up their characters they will not ditch it because of a false decision of Blizzard.
After seeing the company not taking any measures against that matter and find a way that people are able to play with their real life partners without the need of a complete restart on their progress there is nothing left to do. Just wait until they take some action and resub when i’m able to join them.
I had the same problem.
So we joined a server where 3% is Alliance and 97% are Horde.
That server is hardcore. There’re basically no items on AH. You have to get everything by yourself and there are no one but your friends to quest with haha.

what reasons? why would you create an alt on different server, just to transfer him to your main?
They wanted to buy all the lotus on the low pop server for cheap and then transfer to the high pop server.

Locked servers are an issue though, making a new character on a server is entirely different to transferring with loads of valuables. I think most people that want realms unlocked agree that transfers to those realms should remain locked.

You can’t play with your friends and the pepegas just moan ‘tell them to migrate looool’ yes, they have to pay, leave guilds, raids, and all’ anyone would sugest something like that. Is the same lol statement ‘if you don’t want to wait 5h migrate man’.
It’s absurd not to get big whole cross servers per regions to one big pvp and pve server per region. The ‘nochanges’ for this is is absurd, If I don’t need to install from my old CDs or install patches manually downloading the exes from your web I think we shouldn’t have mediocre server systems.
4 phase and still a joke… At least Blizzard please fix the old 16 year server system before TBC comes out. And please don’t mess the raids and balance in TBC too like classic.

I think transfers is a stupid system, it just ends up with people abusing it.
They should remove all types of transfers and simply unlock all servers for fresh players.

The communities on medium pop servers are absolutle garbage.
There are barely any PuG’s, and they always reserve half the loot, some even gold sell.
You can never find groups while leveling, just boosters offering a shortcut for gold.
Thank god i managed to transfer off this hell before the lockdown.

How long will Ashbringer EU be locked?, been way to long in my opinion.
Got plenty of people that want to start playing but they cant even start a character on Ashbringer since its been locked for weeks on end.

Please unlock the servers or balance them, you are just letting wow classic die since no new players want to creat a char. in a server which has only boosters instead of real players or an empty one. It’s not a real wow classic experience.

You expect classic to have the ability to have that many players on a screen at once? xD.
It’s already a pain with 1 realm of 10k, I’d dread all of classic population in one PvP realm / PvE realm.
Heck, you wouldn’t even be able to quest/farm herbs etc without a few dozen other people trying it as well.
You would need dozens of layers and maybe sharding in order to implement this at all.

Yeah it’s really embarrassing how Blizzard’s servers can’t handle this when every other private server could (and with drastically less lag too).
Classic was a Media stun to make us All Play shadow lands they just dont care
