Is Classic killing BFA?

Classic is “new”, just like any patch / expansion; people flock to it and I always hear "X is better than - insert what we just had before - ".
Then some time passes and it’s “back to normal” (People just Do things instead of comparing…)
Then sometime later we arrive at the “fun” part, where Apparently - insert whatever we had before - was SO great and we wish we had that again.

I have enjoyed Classic.
I have enjoyed BFA.
I have enjoyed all inbetween.
I’ve also had issues with All of them.
Different reasons, different times, different end results.
It’s best to try look at the whole picture - than to zoom in and get lost.

I hope now that we are vindicated they completely remake retail version to resemble wow classic as much as possible.

Classic is driving a car. BFA is being a passenger in a car.

But Classic is not giving directions, it’s the customers.

Haven’t noticed any difference tbh, but there has been a significant increase in these redundant “is classic killing bfa” and “classic vs bfa” threads. Can we just stop with all this doom and gloom crap, and enjoy playing WoW, whatever version that may be?

No people will get bored of classic in a few months when they have nothing to do and go and play something else.

Doubt it, something else is though

Classic and retail will coexist till they shut the servers down when sub numbers hit 0. RS3 still exists 6 years after OSRS was released.

Retail is obsolate game, fame amongst players is “only noobers play retail” , “classic is all what matters”

Retail crushed into bottom, people may love new content but people hate new age WoW gameplay rules, and with burning passion they hate what WoW become, so they seek their refugee in classic far away from new age wow plague. 99% of my friend list play classic thats just refleciton how people love retail

No, and most of my friends are usually on line in BfA.

My small friends list is spread evenly over both games. I have seen friends who have more time to play than me log onto both versions of the game over the last few days.

Classic is “new”, so everybody tries it, then most of them will go back to retail. 8.2.5 will bring back a fair amount of people, and 8.3 will bring back most.

Unless radical changes are made to almost evry aspect of game even new expansion wont help. But its OK to hold hopes for something you love.

Classic is worse in nearly every aspect than retail. Ppl love to bash retail but it’s solid imho. Better balance than Classic, more interactive specs, better itemization, better raids, etc. The only advantage Classic has right now is that it’s new.

It is worse yet people love it much more that they will ever love retail, people just hate what retail become it lost evry fundamental WoW gaming value.

With or without running simulator and with or without hybrid tax and class balance ?

Yes, some people hate it. And yet at the same time there are still more people playing it. Both are nice games, let people enjoy what they want. Just stop it already with the “my game is better than your game” nonsense that’s plagueing the forums.

It’s your opinion, not a fact. Classic was a great game in it’s time, most of us remember it with happy memories. But it’s 90% nostalgia, not love for the actual game.

Given the insane popularity of classic, it’s bound to have a huge effect on BFA.

The problem blizz have is converting all that interest in WoW into interest in retail WoW. Not easy given it is the antithesis of what people like about classic.

Nothing short of a WoW2 will truly halt the sub decline.
