New account restrictions must be removed in anniversary classic

Last I played wow was back in 2005 (tier 2 gear mage) figured would be fun to start again with fresh and all. Got surprised by the limit when I was going to trade for some bags I had linen for.

Very frustrating when I later found out can’t buy in AH either and have to basically beg for someone to give a crafted wand to me? I can receive stuff but not give anything back. And no explanation what so ever in game for what’s going on.

This is really annoying to be fair and just motivates me to put the game down. Played every blizzard game since Warcraft 1 minus the mobile and fps ones. Got plenty of games on battle.net app too as well as some consoles linked with the account. But for some reason I’m treated like a potential cheater?

This rule makes no sense in its current form. Can’t believe they let it pass knowingly, or they really expect just regular wow players jumping in to play?

I think its no longer about attracting new players for them… instead they wanna keep milking the people that sub to a game run by bots and for bots

I started playing on a new server in honor of the anniversary of the game, until that moment I had not played WoW, my friends and I decided to try to play together, we have no experience of the game because we had not played before. What was my surprise when playing the magician, I was unable to share food with my friends. And I also can't use the auction to buy suitable equipment for myself, as well as all my professions, they don't make practical sense, because I can't use mail, exchange, and AH. Why didn't blizzard warn me in advance, then I wouldn't buy myself a subscription, and spend time on it, can I get compensation for the time spent, as well as for buying a subscription. I am very sorry at the moment when blizzard makes concessions to such LGBT communities, but at the same time infringes on my rights as an ordinary player. Why can't I use the functionality I paid for while playing the game?

Every time I think it can’t get any stupider, Blizz comes around the corner and shows me that it can be done.

20 years… and they work like interns on their first day.

I just feel so dumb recommending Official WoW servers to my friends. They all are really dissapointed in the game and will never come back at this point and I dont blame them. This could all be solved by a simple phone verification or any other civilized method.

Hopefully a lot of people will cancel their subscriptions due to this because that is the only way Blizzard will notice something is wrong. They dont care about feedback or forum complaints.

Absolutely stupid move. Got my teenage son to join me on the Classic servers for the anniversary and we’re having a great time, just to find he can’t even trade me cloth or purchase a bag from the AH? This is stupid and 28 days is far far too long.

It’s getting even more ridiculous. You can’t even send items to your bank alt.

Are they fixing this for the anniversary server? its unplayable and exactly how does this stop bots from selling gold if they can use AH but cant trade, all they have to do is farm for 30days then sell it? Blizzard simply scamming new players on money and earning double on bots…

I am seriously irritated and upset my friend who i now convinced to come back to world of warcraft to play and level with me has these restrictions and hes not a new player hes account have several times bought playtime in the past a couple of years ago and even bought the legion expansion we submitted a ticket. and basically got the answer that this is not a restriction to he’s account and this effects ‘‘all players’’ on the new classic realm and they wont do anything about it. and this makes people like my friend and probobly alot of people quit wow again insted of playing and it makes me sad!

The problem with that, is that since they already took the money all they get “punished” with is getting “free” money for subscriptions that don´t get used. So players loose anyhow…

Nope, its the same even for the new anniversary server.

“U are willing to pay”?
U ain´t paying anything, thats the issue. As it doesn´t effect u, u don´t care?
So why even post?

I come back to WoW, after more than 10 years, saw the hype around the new fresh servers, and now I’m in a guild, I can’t mail guildmates, can’t use the AH. I can’t trade at all. like what the hell. completely shut out from the in-game economy. absolute insanity. Blizzard wants us “new” returning players to run for the door as soon as we’re in.

Yes, ofc. There is nice players, but is it the players job to fix Blizzard?
Ain´t the nice players also paying customers?
Blizzard is the only “winner” with this approach.
THEY are the ones who´s cashing in from all the subscribers…
THEY ain´t doing this out of pure goodness, they make BIG money on the this games.
The players are not.
That is the whole issue.

And no matter how kind players can be and there willingness to help, witch I really do apprechiate, no questions there at all. Just to make that clear.
But for myself, I don´t want to have to feel like a leech to be able to play and enjoy the game.
I am really thankful for the help I get from time to time, but It degrades my experience that I can´t prove myself on the same terms as everybody else.
And also, when u have to ask for help, u do undeniably get harsh comments about it from thoose who ain´t as thoughtful and kind, witch makes it even less fun.

I´m not playing the game to get “free stuff”, I just want the same experience as thoose who don´t have to endure the restrictions, who are paying the same amount for the game as I am.

Please don´t missunderstand now. <3
Guys and gals like u is what has made this game big.
But it is not ure responsibility to fix Blizzards lack of the same engagement.

It’s my fault i had such high expectations again…
Thank you guys for providing more info. It appears there are even more restrictions than i already encountered. Will push for a refund.

first time ever i saw less bots in classic then i saw in war within

Just so you know, I talk to many people who do RMT, and none of them got affected. They just buy accounts that meet the rules and keep doing RMT without any problems. Meanwhile, regular players like us are the ones getting hurt. It’s so funny in a way. My friend wrote a ticket, and the reply was, “You can request a refund, but we won’t change the decision.” So, because you haven’t been able to deal with bots and RMT for 20 years, you add restrictions that hurt normal players instead of stopping the RMT people. LOL
