So, just in case you didn’t really think this through. This change ONLY affects legitimate players.
You’ll be affecting the people playing/helping their guild a lot. Parking a char at whatever instance you’ll be running 5 times for a boost/gear farming to help out your guild is extremely common.
Then you go to raid, then you farm a bit of Maraudon/DMe/whatever for plants, since even late at night ever outside resources are depleted.
You’re hurting legitimate players that plays together, not only mage selling boosts and bots.
Well, actually you’re not hurting bots at all. They’ll just reroll on 3 other servers, and in one week or two they’ll be right back at it.
Farming 6h on server 1 --> Switch to server 2 and farm 6h -> Rinse and repeat.
Did you … did you actually put some thoughts into this ? This is bypassed by bots owner so easily that it’s not even funny, they don’t even have to buy another account to do that, just spread their bot amongst the servers.

Also wanted to chime in.
There’s a few other things, that make this a bad solution:
- Remember the Jed/rend runs? People may use quick resets for various reasons.
- Being locked out of a raid due to too many dungeons, would be extremely annoying…
- This doesn’t solve the problem at all. Botters can use multiple realms to avoid the solution entirely.
- This does not affect botters outside of instances at all.
The issue here is that the focus is on the wrong thing. Bot detection is a far better direction to use development time on. 30 instances per day may be a decent method to flag players for “suspicious” behaviour. In order to determine if a player is using botting software, you can do other checks (perhaps automated as well) to see if it is actually the case. Other good detection methods could include movement patterns, chat interaction patterns, etc.
Finally, you can make players verify that they are not a bot, using something like a captcha. This system would obviously have to evolve as the bots get smarter, but this would be a decent starting point.
Downright limiting the amount of instances a player can do is just not a good solution.

Don’t implement this. DM East farm, Blade of eternal darkness farm and many other farms will be severely hit. I for one have repeatedly farmed significantly more than 6 hours with 5 instances per hour during free Saturdays and Sundays. This will be semi game breaking for a large portion of the player base.

This is like trying to put a bandaid on a gushing wound and not even taking the bandaid out of the package.
Focus on the matter at hand here aka BOTS. You (temp)ban people for minor infractions but these bots that ruin the game for all the legitimate players are left alone.
Now you’ve come up with this 30 limit bullcrap, that’s not gonna do a damn thing other then upset legitimate players.
Incase you missed it but these programs have been at it since the start of classic. I think it’s clear that we’ve reached our limit here and you’ve had more then enough time to do something about this.
Clean this mess up now.
Embarrassing for a game you need a subscription for to play.

dear Blizzard what about weekends ? i have been doing Maraudon princess Theraras runs ( 834 kills atm ) trying to get my hands on that amazing blade " blade of eternal darkness "some weekends i end up spending the whole day farming maybe up to 50 or 70 kills in the same day and now you are limiting the kills per 24 hours to 30 ? why i am even paying money to play this game ? how im supposed to spend my time in classic after i reach the limit ? go ahead explain this to someone whos online at least 7-10 hours on working days and over 16-18 hours on weekends

The charm of classic is kinda that you can do your thing whenever you want. If I’m busy during the weeks and can barely play, it is not uncommon that you swap an overpriced headset on and do some powerfarming with some friends during the weekends.

Blizzard actually forcing people to buy a second account yet the high pop servers are already locked so thats right out the window. The only ones that are still benifit from this is bots thats because there “Still here” and not banned. Tbh its abit of a piss take from blizzard and shocking choice of way to go. I agree with one person suggesting bringing back GM’s to deal with this situation or get a bloody good anti cheat system with the money that you lot are making from this game.

As many others have said, they can just swap servers to get around the 30 limit and maintain the same efficiency. They don’t CARE which server they are making the gold on at any given time; there will be people to buy it.
The issue is this hurts genuine players way more than the bots, you just wait until all those mages that are farming lashers or boosting go out into the open world to farm instead. Good luck farming anything to get your consumables.

I actually cancelled the subscription for my second account tonight since it will be less beneficial to have one after this change.

As absolutely bad as this change currently is, if this is truely the route blizzard want to take with this, then they should change it to 45-60 instances per day (9-12hrs) and make it reset with the daily lockout and not just 24hrs from the first instance.
The whole world, Stay home stay safe, meanwhile blizzard go out you hit the instance limit.

ah well, i wont be hitting the limit if im playing a different game "path of exile Harvest " will just log for raids I assume.
oh could you please let me know if u change the limit to 5 instances per week, i will have to chose my raids then .
