New Instance Limit in WoW Classic

so I guess we can all just start botting now? it’s crystal clear that blizzard has absolutely no interest in ever fixing the botting issue and since bots never get banned why shouldn’t normal people start botting as well?

I mean this is literally a 5Head move from Blizzard tbh. Bots are now 75% less effective - this means that bots need to buy 4x as many accounts to make the same money. Bots on EU/NA are making 7-8x what they were making on CN after token was added so it’s still worth buying 4x as many accounts. Thats 4x more profit for Blizzard and also pisses off the player base enough to make them more open to implementing WoW tokens into Classic. Absolute 5Head play

And simple as that Blizzard makes more money out of the problem

It’s not anything unheard of. It’s a limit per 24 hours, so it will affect you if you do a 3h farming session in the evening and then another 3h one in the afternoon the next day.

The issue with the bots (especially those automating zg/maraudon) is that because of the gross automation and oftentimes malicious code, they can manipulate the world (e.g. jump over the terrain and traverse ZG without being hit by any mobs), and as such do not have the gear requirement that any mage who legitimately farms needs.

This means that these botters can have any lvl 60 mage with lvl 40 greens and basically farm those instances across 100s of accounts by simply running a script.
For them paying for the subscription over hundreds of such accounts is far outweighed by the amount they make by grinding gold over all those accounts.

They are botting on a much greater scale and this limitation feels like it more greatly affects legitimate solo farmers rather than people who anyway abuse the game and will continue to do so by employing bots/scripts and destroying the legitimate experience the rest of us aim to have.

As a mage who regularly uses instance boosting to farm gold for my consumables and equipping my alts, this is a change that will definitely hurt the amount of work a mage can output in a free day, and potentially inflate the gold value of boosting services in general.

I hope this is either overturned or increased, and I believe there are far more effective ways of eliminating bots. This is merely a slap on the wrist and a call for them to get more accounts. It only hurts legitimate players.

I implore you to reconsider this change since it will do 2 things:
Botters will just get more accounts and bot on as usual.
Real players that do somehow hit this limit will have 2 choises, either get more accounts or stop for the day.

Second, will we be able to see this limit in-game or do we have to make up excuses to our raid leaders why we’re locked out for the day?

My guildy had a great idea!
How about excluding 40man raids from this?
And for 20man raids how about excluding them if you’re 15+ in raid, in instance?
Somehow you have to exclude the big raids at the very least. Please consider this.

You could also just /who strat and start the banning.
But I guess there is more money in making botters pay for 4x as many accounts

How incompetent are you, honestly? All you’re doing is dipping into their revenue stream without actually fixing the problem.

All this will achieve is the botters creating additional accounts to make up for the 30-a-day limit. Given the current maximum of 96 instances per day, that means for every $15 they currently spend, they’ll spend $45 or $60.

Have you considered actually banning the bots?

Looks like Blizzard have figured out the way to make even more money by forcing botters to purchase additional accounts. :joy: Oh man that’s fascinating.

Did you guys seriously not consider that it’s possible for players to legitimately hit this cap, severely diminishing player experience?
Could you not instead find a better way to punish botters, instead of punishing your own paying playerbase?
This whole “solution” feels lazy through and through.
hope you reconsider this.

So if some one goes to farm SGC arena on Saturday night they now can’t raid on Sunday evening?

Good god…

What an absolute crock of sh*t this change is.

Are you actually kidding?!

You have literally solved nothing here.
All you have achieved is generating anger in 90% of your legitimate player base, and of course, huge amounts of extra profit when those Bots use RaF to open up triple the amount of accounts to combat this dumb solution…

Well done Blizzard, you absolute bunch of tools… /facepalm /golfclap

Someones gonna come with the “if you dont have SGC yet you dont deserve to raid” comment KEKW

Stupid … really stupid … i hope you realise this feedback by the Community and regret your decision …

How about this.
Permaban every account that has bots running. I can show you 3 bots in Silithus (Lucifron EU) right ducking now. How about you ban those 3 players instantly?

This is so true, while gold sellers will just dodge this and hop to another realm after they are locked out, the actual players have to sit out a raid
