New Instance Limit in WoW Classic

They are not incapable. They are unwilling.

So hypothetically here… i finish work at 5pm and i do 4 hours of jump runs with my homies before i go to bed but tomorrow is my day off work, i get up all happy and excited in the morning at 9am to continue farming my crystals for my AQ prep… by 11am i get a message telling me that on my day off i have to wait 7 more hours before i can continue doing what i enjoy on my day off because…?

6 hours of instances IN A 24 HOUR PERIOD is just hilarious.

This is the worst change ever. This does not hurt botting at all, this hurts the players who play a lot, who are not casuals leaving after month. This hurts the players who PAY YOUR SALARY.

I strongly oppose this change as someone who resubbed only for classic. I thought that you will do better job than private servers but oh boy I was wrong. People who set up private servers took more care about community than you. They banned the bots and tried to fix the server while all you do is care about money. I love this game, I love classic but I hope that you - Blizzard and Activision will fall down. Remember that we are your clients, we pay you money, without us you are nothing. NOTHING.

Yours sincerely,
day 1 vanilla player.

Great business decision. This effectively forces all botters to buy additional accounts. While limiting legitimate players ability of farming money increasing demand from gold sellers. Ramping up Blizzard Activision revenues massively. :+1:

It forces botters to farm 4 realms per account. So now bots are coming to low-bot realms too!

This makes no sense, all this does is punish us normal players and doesn’t help in boting prevention at all.

Doesn’t this mean that if i do 30 dungeons on my alt, that i cant log in to my main in do Ony, MC, BWL?

When I’m working shifts, lets say i do 30 runs this evening and tomorrow I’m second shift so i cant do anything in the morning because 24 hours haven’t passed.

I’m mage my self and i do boosts, its what i enjoy doing in classic i fail alot in SM or ZG, and after i kill 1/3 or 1/2 of the mobs i do restart, because its just waste of time rounding up mobs again and if i do to many restarts ill be locked out for day and some botter will do it perfectly every time and after he gets locked out he will just swap realm and keep doing it because he makes money out of it and it doesn’t matter if he must have 1 mage on every realm. So I’m punished but he still can keep botting?

Lets say i want to farm out Head from unforgiven in Stratholme, i literally just go in and fokus that single boss with guildies and when it doesn’t drop, go out restart and try again… Now why would people help me farm it out when all it will do is lock them out sooner?

What was wrong with people boosting in RFC and SFK for 1 or 2g per run, and how does stoping them from doing so helps getting rid of bots? I saw this post as i was helping irl friend to lvl up his shaman to through RFC and also taking anyone who /w me free of charge and we were all wandering how does this helps solve any of problems?

Only thing this actually does is help bots by limiting us normal players and giving them more space and more clients that some of us would have…

This makes no sense at all, i don’t know who had this idea and how does it even make sense to him at all, if you would please take 15 minutes of your time and try to explant to us how will this help stop botting and not impact us legit players that are nolifing in this 15y/o game…

I cant believe that you people cant brainstorm this real quick and list pros and cons before you make decision like this… Get 5 to 10 people that actually play this game and make lists before you make decision…

EDIT
Things i wrote in ( ) down below are obviously sarcasm and obviously that’s not the way you guys think, but you literally don’t give us any thought process behind such a decisions and i can say for sure that many people feel same as i do when you hit us with such decisions. Every time i write a ticket or talk to gm they are polite and answer what ever we ask of them even if it doesn’t always conclude the way we want it. I’m by no means some brainiac and there must be more pros and cons there but no matter what angle do i look at it, this here is always bad decision.
So feel free to enlighten me list more pros and cons below i honestly hope we will also get at least one blue post that will give us some sort of reasoning behind this from your side.

Pros:

  • 30 entrances, so bots cant enter more than 30 times = less gold for sale
  • after they get locked out less bots in game
  • potencialy more accounts so it makes you more money (because if we ban them they wont have to buy more accounts which will also earn us more money)
  • people will have to level by questing more than by boosting

Cons:

  • 30 entrances so all that bots have to do is have mage on 4 realms and that will make this change mean nothing
  • gold farming will spread to more realms and it will affect even realms that had been impacted less by gold farmers
  • since they just have to level up more characters they will not actually have to buy more accounts and we will not get more money like that (maybe it was better idea just to focus on finding ways to detect bots and ban them after all, than they would really have to buy more accounts)
  • people that just started the game don’t have enough gold to buy boosts anyways so they will have to level up by questing and players that have max level chars will not have to go through that multiple times
  • farming specific items such as herbs, sgc, hoj, jed runs, arena runs will be affected greatly
  • people that spend a lot of time in game (no lifers) helping their friends and guild mates will have to think about lockouts and will not be able to help others with farming
  • people that work in shifts and still spend descent amount of time in game will be forced not to do anything of the things they usually do (well they can also try to change their shifts and build their lives around classic wow lockouts, they can also quit their jobs, that works too)
  • Practicing aoe pulls will be impossible (unless ofc you don’t go practice them on private servers just don’t get hooked too much, after all we need you to pay your subs)

Boters will just level up a new character in another realm and when they get locked in lets say Faerlina they will just change to another server and keep farming gold.

I love how its All mages complaining. You think making 8k a Day would last forever lmao

This just forces botters to now purchase 4 additional subscriptions as a workaround. I think it only hurts legit players and not cheaters.

Who TF is “legitimately” farming gold for personal use every day for more that 6 hours?
What are you talking about?

This does NOTHING to stop the botters, merely makes them spread across multiple realms, you would be better off outright banning multiboxing instead, making it harder for botters to control multiple accounts simultaneously, which currently they can set their bot up to input commands into the multiboxing software to control the actions of usually multiple mages in zg, strath, scholo etc essentially all of the high end instances and 1 catch up raid.

Putting a limit on the instances merely peanises normal players, in terms of people selling paid boost to people helping friends and guild mates out by giving them free boosts the xyz instance to get abc item they particularly want, like if one of their friends is twinking a alt out to do BGs on.

As said THE best thing you could do right now is to outright ban multiboxing, followed by adding more staff into investigating bot reports and decreasing the amount of time between ban waves, ie weeks instead of months that you currently take, if it costs the botters money to the point their not breaking, even, even, they will go else where to where it is NOT costing them time, essentially you need to get the ban waves in to the point where they haven’t started to break even or make a profit from what they are doing, ie around the sub level 50 mark, once they get to or close to the 60 mark their likely making profit from what they are doing so banning them isn’t going to do much as they can then use the money made to just create new accounts and get back to the profit point.

As stated this change proposed isn’t even a bandaid on the problem nevermind not being even close to a cure for.

This is outrageous! At 5Dungeons/H this means people will only be able to farm 6hours of dungeons on one realm per account? It isn’t going to affect the botters at all! They’ll just figure out a work around . This change is only going to force people to pay for multiple accounts/subs and isn’t going to fix a Botter problem! It’ll however impact the players who actively play wow and interact with people in the community. The Boosters, The Gatherers , The Guild Donators, The Raiders… Any and everyone who farms Dungeons for resources like herbs cloth or other resources.

Dumbest change I’ve ever seen. We still got people farming Savage Gladoator Chain and now they have to choose between that or making gold on an alt. Punishing legitimate players will lose you alot of custom.

Six hours is nothing, and it’s not just gold people farm.

You are a casual, there is nothing wrong with it, Blizzard love casuals like you.
The rest that play the game more this hotfix will hurt our experience.

No-lifers and people from countries where economy is really bad and real money value of virtual game currencies outweighs what they can earn locally so they play as a job… plus bots and alike.
