So they start to ban legit customers. Seems like a great idea.
So you are telling me that you or others you know are farming gold for personal use more than 6h/day every day?
I’ve become a walking meme on Gehennas. The Moonkin with Rag hammer who has done nearly 5000 runs with no dagger.
Cursed. It’s complete insanity to continue. But also would completely ruin me to quit.
Youre not right bro, bots don’t have to realm transfer to keep farmign gold, they just have to make 4 mages on 4 different realms and boom they can bot farm dungeons whole day without stoping, and legit players that dont earn money like bots do from botting in wow well they get punished instead…
Blizzard should fix this by hiering gms and people who can make something about people that are using third party programs to wall jump and run in the air… Those are problematic bots and limiting numper of entrances wont help solve this at all…
Hey please can you remove the 30 unique instances fro Gnomeregan, I play druid and 30 lock outs isn’t enough for getting Manual Crowd Pummeler’s
I see a lot of mages complaining in this thread.
I welcome this change personally. Honestly the amount of gold some of you probably have is absurd. The economy is broken, regardless of bots, farming dungeons as a mage shows you can make hundreds if not thousands in a day. You are not meant to have this much gold in classic wow guys, put your pitchforks down.
@Dummythicc: Please do not lie on a public forum…
If that post contains no work at all, I will eat my hat. It is not even the only one…
How can you fail this much? From once best gaming company ever to this nonsense fiesta?
This does not solve bots at all, they will simply:
1.) Log on a different account as they have dozen of accounts
2.) Bot on a different server once they hit instance limit on a certain server
This is beyond stupid change!
fully agree, we need to be more constructive and patient. But most of these responses come from pure frustration over the banwave system and it’s apparent lack of effectiveness.
This does not effect me at all, but I do feel mostly for keen Mage players -as this directly hits their main strategy and edge over all the other classes.
Well hello dear WoW Community,
My Name is Breesty, I am playing this game since original Vanilla, quit out of obvious reasons when MoP/Draenor was around, and found my way into this wonderful game with Classic.
I am a speedrunner who recently (last monday) had a speedrun attempt where i went 1-60 in 44 hours, next to that i probably invested 1400 hours in aoe farming. I love farming, i love boosting. Mage is my true love, and the work with the mechanics, the “Money-making” with people, the investments, the growth, the leverage in the auction house - all that is WoW for me.
I already spiked high in PvE content in addons before - having a guild where we clear bwl in a bit over 30 minutes now is fine and fun. But only once a week. PvP is a grind - it can be fun, but i prefer arena.
So to make this argument work: why do alot of us wanted classic back? In the first place because its more of a sandbox game than any other expansion. I can do what i want, without hunting for achievements or any other kind of “show-off-reward”. Gold is such an important ressource (as we all know) - but it only enables some parts of the game (Raiding/parsing high/ranking in PvP/…) - if you are fine with playing the game casually, you don’t really need too much gold. And most of it gets in your hands by playing the game naturally.
So we already can agree that most of us have different aims in this Game - and for alot of players Gold is quite important. So - i am used to hate against mages and their money making ability - but its almost one year into classic, for me this argument can’t hold true anymore. At this stage there are plenty of ways to make lots of gold - you either don’t see them, or you don’t wanna do them -either is fine for me.
But what does every player who is in need gold rely on? The prices of mats in auction house in order to have a good outcome of gold for the time/effort you put in.
We all know that a rightous orb and greater eternal essences are needed - we either made that experience back in the day or on private realms - nevertheless the Botting community knew this beforehand, found a way to script their way through numerous dungeons/herbing routes and farmed so much, that they over-supply the auction house. The prices are garbage, everything is so cheap, that the amount of time you put in is almost never worth - especially not compared to certain classes.
But how can we solve this Problem? How can our Big-Brother-Blizzard solve this problem? So yeah, there would be the option of tracking down the software, of using manpower to analyze the reports, they could use some people to scan the dungeons, and look for similairities in playerbase of the course of time - there are probably dozens of other solutions out there - but what did you do?
You limit the Dungeon-Reset-Cap to 30 a day.
While on one hand you could always say “but yea 30 dungeons is already alot, that is like 8 hours a day” - okay well, but i want to do more than that - why can’t i? I never botted.
I wanted to do more and more speedruns, as well as other people wanted to participate. We were about to form a community of like-minded people who would love to do such runs. We hurt no one, we just compete in a niche-discipline. We can do no speedruns anymore like we used to do before.
We chose this game because of freedom and sandboxy style, and while our BBB is simply to >>>>LAZY<<<< to work through solutions that actual takes work i can’t have the fun i wanted anymore in this game.
Yea i already farmed my gold. I am 6 digits heavy in this game, i don’t give two shids about me not being able to do heavy farming. Me and alot other people were frustrated to hell because of your ignorance towards the topic of Botting - but this solution is so “not-thought-through” that it makes me question the reason to play the game.
I simply wanted to speedrun every now and then. Find my own way, find my own game. You can’t do your job on banning botters? Oh well, thats not good, but hey, in the end it was kinda fine for me. Now you already banned a handful of people that aren’t botting because of your 8th grade banning software, and on top of that you do a fix that fixes exactly nothing, but hurts those who have fun in specific dungeon-grinding niches.
You are a joke. And i know alot people in your team knows whats up, probably suffering under the “what-ever” pressure you have to deal with. Little manpower, no help, w/e - we all saw your 4 game server getting listed, then you being overthrown with the amount of people that wanted to play your game.
Shouldn’t this amount of people playing the game not be a reason to fill up your roster? To go against booting and other stuff that is against ToS? Not putting up mindlessly fix? Probably getting a bit confidence boost because you followed asmongolds video and implemented a Black Lotus “fix” (Prices on my server almost dropped by 20%, very good BBB)
So much hate right now for you boys, its unbearable.
Just let people play their game, and do what you are supposed to do. Not implementing a fix that hurts as many people as it “helps”.
I just lost all the respect you worked for so hard in the past year.
Unsubscribed my 3 accounts.
So unless we offer solutions, we shouldn’t post at all? To be honest i don’t like this change and a lot of people agree since the people who are going to be hitting that cap atleast 2-3 times a week are voicing their opinion/concerns that this Fix won’t hurt the Bots but the legit players who spend hours grinding. Instead of making big decisions they should have done a Survey to see what the playerbase thinks. Instead of Limiting Dungeons a day … they should try to come up with a program that Analyses player behaviour trough the coarse of the play sessions to create a digital identity for each account and then look for any lack of deviation in performance. Humans won’t always hit the same performance over the course of a week. There will be Deviations even across couple of hours which when Botting wouldn’t happen. There will always be a loop
The new changes in effect limit in dungeon gold farming, or in dungeon loot farming to 6 hours per day. A cap that almost all semi active raiders will occasionally hit, and a cap that active players will end up hitting every day. We have mage streamers on twitch, who are 100% legitimate players selling boosts for longer than 6 hours a day. The current leveling records involve well over 100 instances per day.
I want to see bots gone, but the current limit does not distinguish between very active players, and bots.
I now will feel like i can’t help guildies when they ask for help with angerforge, or arena runs in BRD, as it will cost me to many instances. Same for helping our second tank farm arcane crystals in DM east.
Overall i love the spirit of the idea to attack botters. In practice though it’s going to hurt a lot of players, as lets be honest 6 hours is not that long for a wow player to play in a day. Especially on a weekend.
Edit. I think it would be great if there was a way for really active players to be able to apply to have the cap removed, if a GM can go through there history as see they are not bots, but just very active
What if the change wasn’t only intended to hit bots but also degenerative gameplay (depending how you look at it)?
You don’t have to dump 30 instances per day. You can farm crystals in EPL too, while soon you will be in Silithus for most of the time.
Farming crystals out in the world would become even harder if for our second tank. Luckily for him it’s only an issue on weekends, as he works during the week, and he would only rarely hit the cap on week days. It just stops me joining him.
As for degenerative gameplay, i’m probably one of the few people who can say wow classic has seriously improved my health. Before this game released i was in bed all day, and found sitting up for more than an hour or 2 extremely exhausting. My hook on classic seriously helped me push through the exhaustion, and at least starting sitting up, it also massively helped me in terms of socializing with people.
But do you play classic because leveling “requires” mass dungeon runs and you would not play if it would require more questing and less dungeon zerg? IMHO there is some line there as well as addiction warning.
I do not think bots are farming like 30 dungeons per night/full day. Even if more than 30, This only limits the problem of farm bots to 6 hours per day a bit not solving. 6 hours in case if they are farming one unique dungeon for 12 mins, I am pretty sure it isn’t, I think they can farm 20-50 mins minimum per one dungeon so it is 10-25 hours per day of farm lol. They now allowed to farm 6-25 Maximum ^-^ hours per day instead of as it was 8-24? Maybe the ban is better as described in rules? This only make limits for real players : /
P.S. Correct my calculations if im wrong. Or if i get it wrong totally)
it contains work… but not on the instance limit front costing lots of legitimate players in the middle of a lockdown loads of time and money.
Again not to sound rude but i find your reply kind of patronising, people are mad at THIS change, You’ve implied there is more to come on the botting/instance front? i assume you don’t mean the changes that are going to calm us all down right now is the 4 extra bag slots? or the AV changes?
i don’t get paid the big blizzard bucks so doing their job for them is a ridiculous thing to imply, i can constructively tell them i hate this change though which is what most of us are doing.
I get you have green text and wanted to wade in here but atleast keep it constructive yourself and don’t try and siderail the thread with irrelevant changes to the topic at hand.
I promise you this is just blizzards solutation to earn more $$$, they always do the same s***… With this now all it’s gonna mean is.
- The botters will get more accounts that fund themselves, blizzard gets more $$$.
- The regular joe player making their goldincome from dungeons are punished and some even pushed towards paying for multiple accounts to be able to farm efficiently which means, again, blizzard earning more $$$.
Thanks a lot for your s***ty effort towards punishing botters but instead punishing the players that love the game instead, monkeys.
Apart from hardcore grinders for Hoj Sgc and stuff like this that are playing more than 5-6 hours/day for this alone are gold sellers complaining.
Pssst Blizzard… Announce that this change is made, and will be implemented for a month only. In that month, you will track ALL accounts that consistently hit 30 dungeons per day / instance lockout. After 1 month, all those account will be permanently banned and the restriction removed for us genuine players…
Do that, and we will forget this situation ever happened. Deal? xD
It seems that during COVID-19 lockdown, WoW Retail get 100% boost to experience, and WoW Classic players simply get a kick in the teeth… And what ever happened to that #NoChanges thing I saw knocking about a few months back?
