One problem with dual spec

I mostly play PvP.

If you believe you statement, you surely don’t.

We still don’t know how it will work and I doubt it ruins anything. I will be a huge help for hybrid specs becoming more playable at 60 without being locked to one raid spec or constant re-specs. And then TBC when trees get deeper.

And is a 20+ year successful game, even after horrendous expansions. You can change spec at will in a rested area but to play a spec at an acceptable level you will need way more experience and practice than ever before (and incomparable to Classic). Some say the game is way too complex and I would agree.

It was rushed, with cut content and lots of unfinished aspects of the game. It took them subsequent years and 1-2 expansions to iron things out. Also hardware limitations at that time.

After many years we got Classic which quickly turned into raidlogging, premade BGs, mages solo-pulling Mara, and leveling through boosts - like for the second part of Classic it was uncommon to see anyone leveling an alt through quests. Then players started moving to specific servers turning them into mega-servers even when Blizzard tried locking some of them, not to mention making PvP realms mono-factions. And don’t forget the economy where an average 60 had thousands of gold, which was not a thing in vanilla (and people getting angry when bots got banned and AH prices went up).

The general philosophy of classic made it one of the best games of all time.

This does not mean any concrete patch was the best version and anything else is unacceptable.

And yes, mages were gods of world pvp. They could even run(after polymorphing you) if they thought they were losing.

My old friend, who was mage fan, left wow after other classes got buffed.

I was raised on world pvp videos, they weren’t fair fights, just one guy(mage or rogue mostly) killing 55-59 levels trying to level up. This was romanticized later.

1.12 were the one they got rid of the high warlord/grand marshal system and let us buy the parts freely without the rank required?

I don’t consider you arrogant or smarter, I just see you as egocentric.

Now if you, as you said, "I know what’s best for an old-school mmorpg type game, I understand the pillars and philosophies it was built on, and on which it should continue to be expanded upon. The ramifications, short term and long term ; and their effect on gameplay and player psyche. YOU DON’T. " you can always go out there and create your own mmorpg, please let us see how it will compete against the rest and how better it will be.

Hey people “Private servers are the future” just not the ones you have now… LMAO

Of course, some of you love to lick private servers asses but then many of them are run by incompetent people, to me that’s a bigger issue compared to some changes that don’t float your boat in a 2004 game.

And you, are you even people as well?

It’s funny that almost all dual spec opponents play pure DDs. A bit hypocritical, don’t you think?

I was under the impression that everyone always asked for Dual Spec with the restriction that you have to talk to a class trainer to change to the other spec.
This would be my preferred implementation as it adds convenience without impacting balance.

Yes the opinion of people coming in and wanting to change the game all of a sudden, is invalid. Stick to Retail.

In addition… the arguments put forth, the lack of understanding of deeper game design principles and their long-term effects, as well as the reasoning behind them; are what shows me the level of intellect is simply: very low.

In reality, there is nothing wrong with hybrid classes. So asking for dual spec is inherently wrong. It’s just elitists trying to ruin fun of people.

I remember from original vanilla, movie called “Zal Pala PVP 3”. He was a raider and was having fun. Today he would be kicked out of the guild for not speccing right way.

MC at 1.12 patch is doable with 25 men. So why ruin the fun of 40 people? Just to do something faster?

A lot of people posted about those changes on forums, social media and surprisingly Blizzard noticed, added them and everyone is happy, Anniversary hype went up. So are those all people “elitists”?

And the changes arent on Era so you can choose. It’s not forced on you.

I will play anyway, but in general, attack on hybrid classes is just bad.

So why should a feral druid do same dps as a warrior? Warrior is already useless apart from its main specialization, while druids can stealth, buff, heal and do everything. So if feral druids do same dps, I will stack feral druids to innervate and help healing sometimes.

I am still going to play, but the elitist mentality of today has often destroyed communities.

These people lack the necessary brainpower to understand game design and basic math. Talking to them is a waste of time.

Pretty sure it’s always been like that, you can steamroll anything with half a raid full of warriors, don’t even need every class buff

If ya want a casual guild, they come in just as much abundance as the sweaty elitist guilds, just join those instead

Feral DPS in vanilla part is garbage, decent if you nolife pummelers and powershift. In TBC all hybrid DPS arent on top but they get desired utility. Feral upkeeps maim or whatever it’s called, while shadow priest becomes a mana battery. Dual spec does not change it DPS.

And I rolled druid instead frost mage due to dual spec. At 60 and TBC I intend to dual spec bear and healer and do a lot of open world and dungeons - and even now there is a lack of tanks, so if you want that tank for your group you better pray more palas, shamans or druids play the game

I knew a guy who was a cat main in TBC, beat everyone on the meters except ret, it’s just hard to play it proper

Logs sayed otherwise. Arcane Mage T5, Hunter and Warlock T6,5.

Not saying it’s S tier, just talking from personal experience, it was better than people think
