In another thread where they mentioned that all their time and energy is being funneled into TBC atm.
They were asking for a fix for pool boosting and server merges to avoid dead servers.

they are merged - just nobody plays 
only solution would be to merge every single server into 1 mega server - and just let pvers toggle off pvp.

Not sure what this thread is about since realms have already been merged, with the exception of the PvP realms where you have two instead of one.
Are we requesting the merge of the those two PvP realms or are we wanting to merge realms of different languages and/or realm types?
merge of ALL PvP realms - if that is not enough connect all realms besides RP realms.
Auction houses, major cities and such are a wasteland and do not even remotely resemble the population of a true vanilla server (not even the smallest ones).
would be nice to fill raids, dungeon- and battleground groups again.
There are zero consumesbles avaible on the auction house for instance.
Raids besides MC and BWL are hard to fill because u can‘t really 30 man naxxramas.
A steady increase would also be more appealing for those who do not fancy TBC and have cancelled their subscription due to not being able to fill groups or just idle and shoot the sh*t in the major cities.

The German server Razorfen I am playing on is not connected at all, which is strange as two other PvE servers of perviously similar population size got connected. While these guys can form groups and raid, on our server there are more dungon-bots and “hardcore” players, that don’t want to group up at all, than anything else.
I recently linked an interview some game-related newspage did with the lead designers and long story short, we have to wait once TBC rush has settled before we may even hope to see a difference. On multiple requests to give a reason why this server was not connected at all, we either didn’t receive an answer at all or just the typical marketing BS to keep us patient. The problem now is, plenty of people already took a break or quit Classic because of low population as we can’t even form 5 men dungeon groups at the moment which hurts us even more than those connected realms and once we get connected we are facing more or less established structures. So, beliefe me, the current situation is anything but fun to us and the sane thing to do would probably be to quit my 5 accounts alltogether though I still have the hope that things are changing for the better.

Two weeks later ! still no news or post from blizzard about the different problems of classic era 
Now that the TBC launch is over, please take care of us too! We only want a merge

It has already happened. All PvE servers are merged, all PvP servers are merged into just 2 servers. RP-PvP and RP-PvE are not merged, as there is only one of each.
Afaik, that’s not true. There are still German, Spanish and Russian PvE servers that could be merged with the English PvE servers. I can understand that some on those servers don’t want to be forced to speak English or merge, but it’s better than nothing I’d say.
Spanish PVE realms does not exits in Classic. The single Spanish realm is a PVP one.
Yes, I did not think of this. There’s a large minority not wanting language groups to be merged – both Enlish speakers and not. I don’t particularly mind – it was even so in Vanilla 
Nope, there are still some server unconnected, i.e. Razorfen. Eventhough we’ve asked multiple times through different chanels, we still have no answer yet

Oh, I see. I’m not into PvP, but you surely deserve to be merged too!
Blizzard/Activision has been silent on this topic for 3 weeks now. I’m going to cancel my subscription. I’ll come back when they merge all classic era servers. I suggest other people do the same.
Why should I stop doing something I think is fun, because you’re not satisfied?
Well i’m gonna try to put a few naxramas groups together when i’ve gotton some gear to be able to do it better
