Please merge Classic Era Servers into their respective kind

why should they keep something that you think is fun but everyone else is dissatisfied with
you are being very obnoxious

Yes, you are correct. It’s French servers.

Anyway, this is looking grim. As someone mentioned earlier, I forgot who, Blizzard seems only interested in TBC at this point. Maintaining Classic servers only costs them, no profit to be made. I would like to be proven wrong.

Funny how this gets still used but has no validity, considering how much players and revenue classic brought blizzard. And people did play it for 2 years. Not only that but they also overran the servers and blizzard was forcing to add more because of it at the start. Impressive for a 15 year old game version. I doubt this would be the case for BFA for example if it were to be rereleased 5-10 years from now.

And i am sure if blizzard didn’t fukckd up as much as they did with their lack of servers, layering and the bots they don’t seem to care about, it would’ve been even better.

In literally every expansion, after 1-2 years and inbetween content releases, player numbers go down significantly. The only reason why retail works is because they continously release new content/expansions. I think classic, tbc and wotlk would be the kind of expansions that would “live” the longest if we would put them to a test compared to other expansions.

How hard it can be to push one freaking button and connect these servers?

They slacking for almost a month already. This is too much even for small indie company. Im sure now they doing it for purpose. They just don’t want era to live.

Hey Chief can you press a few butons back there to merge the servers? thank you in advance, much apreciated. Long Live to Classic era.

I know that some are already connected but the fact is, they should connect all servers in EU, together with German, French, Spanish - (possibly with Russian).
So that it is:
1 PvP
1 Normal
1 RP*
1 RPPVP?**

*There are only two RP(normal) servers, English and German, of which the first is of course about twice as big. Still the amount of players is negligible, but the little bit from the German one is better than nothing if someone wants to play on such a RP server.
**Here comes the problem, and it’s a big one. The only existing RPPVP server is Zandalar Tribe and… looks like after the world apocalypse. On weekends there are max 10-15 people online and on weekdays even less. In my opinion they should provide the players there with a free transfer to any other PVP or RP server.

Only in this form would Classic WoW still be playable - at least for now. I tried to play on the most populous group of connected servers so far, i.e. [PyrewoodVillage - NethergerdeKeep - Mirage Raceway] and still very little happens, no BG for lower lvl and so on. And this is after all the biggest EU group, so what to talk about smaller ones. I don’t mind smaller groups of players, but there are limits and it is an MMO game after all and other players are needed to enjoy the gameplay options. I played a bit but I don’t know if I will continue to do so… and I bet that most of the rest of the players who are left have a similar attitude.

And you really think Gereman RPs want to play with English ones? Why didn’t they choose that English server initially? There is a clear reason why they’ve chosen that server and this is to communicate in German and not in English, thus this already invalidates your suggestion.

This also ties in to normal PvE or PvP servers. Plenty of people either don’t speak English (well enough) or simply don’t want to speak in English.

Why not mingle all players onto the same virtual server then? People who want to participate in Open-World PvP can flag themselves for PvP and fear the danger of being attacked. So, by your explanation, we don’t need PvP Servers at all. RP can also be done on PvE servers so we end up with one single server were all of the players can play (and ignore most of the others on the server)

They can roleplay as english speakers like the rest of us. If they cant, well great opportunity to learn.
You wont get the numbers to maintain a local dialect guild on any type of server.

You assume everyone who playas is in their 20s or 30s, where learning is not that difficult. Buth there are people playing in their retirement for a couple hours per week. If they did not lear English thus far, they probably wont even if you force them onto English speaking servers.

ESO i.e. also host all kind of players on the same server. They offer dedicated language channels where people should write in that particular language i.e. German in the DE channel, English in the EN channel and so forth. Though the English channel is regularly spammed by cyrilic symbols, by Spanish questions and so forth as this is the channel where most people are located in, thus it gets cumbersome over time and I have seen many people either just ignore the chat or not participate in group activites at all because of constantly being flooded by different languages they can’t make any sense of.

And even though you have dedicated language channels you can’t avoid different languages at all. I.e. if you enter a random dungeon group you might end up with a Russian, with a Frenchmen, a Spaniard or a German in a group. If either of them can’t talk in English or at least translate between different languages, what happens are usually kicks from the group as people don’t want to interact with people they can’t communicate with. That is a relative normal behavior.

Don’t confuse the type of server with the language on which the server is set up. Nobody is forcing anyone to use English - it has nothing to do with anything.
I’m a Polish player and my English is pretty average, so I’m not crying that I don’t have a Polish server. And if the situation is like this, it requires concrete actions, convenience is over.

I just gotta remind you that before blizz released classic there is no reservations for different language speakers on private servers, everyone was playing on the same realm, even koreans and chinese lol. No PvE realms neither. And everyone was okay with that.
So you saying that ppl would rather play on dead server than learn just 10 words in english to do basic communication? There is no much talk needed while doing dungeons n stuff.
Im russian, but ive chosen to play on europe because most of russians are retards sadly. My english is still bad but im progressing very well. Anyway. There still many players from other countries, like polish, scandinavian, balkan, etc. And they are forced to play with english speaking people. Blizz just didn’t give them any options. Why? I can see some kind of discrimination here.

Ehm, you know that there were dedicated German classic p-servers out there? I bet there were also for other languages than German.

For people who want to rush through the content, maybe. In the past few weeks, at least in the dungeons I was able to run, which was unfortunately not that many as I’m still playing on a unconnected server, we were communicating more than we actually played the dungeon. Not RPing (I’m on a PvE server)! We had just fun and the dungeon run was more of a side-thing we did then. Sure, we were also discussing how we could improve the situation on the server and how other servers, even connected ones, currently sturggle. As mentioned, we talked and wrote more than we probably played the dungeon.

We don’t need to rush the content any more. Some of us, I included, have already cleared Naxxramas on one or multiple toons and thus don’t need to proof anything further. We just play for the excitement and the people. So communication is an integral part of our player experience. And as mentioned, not everyone I’m playing with is fine in consuming English or even able to produce meaningful English sentences.

Don’t worry, I know the differences. And based on my experience in ESO I can already state that either some German players will quit, when forced with non-German speakers onto the same server, or they wont participate in the content with those players at all. So, what is the benefit to the server in that case?

Well, what is preventing you, in case if servers will be connected (big IF), to create a guild with your fellows? You will still be able to play with them as you usually do, but with some benefits as functioning AH for example. Im kinda tired of this “ghost town” situation, its depressing af.

Even without guild, you will always see a server name before their names. I mean, all of this is not a problem. The real issue is 15 ppl online at the prime time. You now actually have to accept the lesser of two evils. This problem will not solve itself, unless ppl will come back after TBC hype, which i highly doubt.

If you want our auction house bots feel free to buy their stuff. A stack of nightfin soup >300g, a stack runecloth >60g, want more examples? ^^ Sure some folks, like the army of toons we have, might want a bit more of selection in the AH, but we grown-up players usually can provide all the needs low-chars have and a simple “Has anybody item X” or the like in chat is usually enough. Most of the time we don’t even charge for services or offer them way undercut as gold is just such an unimportant thing on a low pop server.

And people that don’t want to interact with you as they don’t speak the same language does make you feel hyped or enthusiastic?

Okay dad, no more questions. You got me.
