Anybody that believes in the philosophy of a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game will believe that friends should be able to play with friends.
However, Classic is a different beast. The amount of premades today and min-maxing gaming culture does not resemble how it was back then. That’s why Classic feels so unnatural.
I agree it’s a problem. But you shouldn’t be punished for wanting to play with your friends. They have to find a solution for this which wouldn’t completely destroy playing as a group, but at the same time allow the casual gamer to stand a chance in a BG.
Nobody enjoys premade vs PUG. The premade may enjoy the juicy honor they are receiving, but nobody can argue that it is fulfilling gameplay. For either side.
Not my experience this weekend. Played a mix of WSG and AB, around 30 games I had 3 premades. Perhaps I was lucky.
Where do you get punished? It will be the same for good premades and bad premades have a reason to improve instead of dodging orher premades to farm pugs on the graveyeard. Its a win-win for everybody. Pug players will still make much less honor than any decent premade but atleast they would be able to play the game.
I did a lot of thinking on this and finally I am there: I think premading should be entirely forbidden. Yes, I know this is a change from ‘true vanilla’, but so is X-bg. And tbh, everything else about classic.
A real ranker could still distern himself by just… contributing more to the BG. And most importantly, investing a lot of time (which tbh is ALL which vanilla was about).

Premades are toxic af and so are the honor cap rackets, this game is Soooo far removed from being a recreation of vanilla wow it’s ridiculous how toxic this community is.
You’re talking nonsense, Cross realm didn’t even exist until the late stages of vanilla. You would never see 10 premades right after one another in vanilla. And rackets and collusion, probably was a bit of this going on on certain realms but now it’s way out of hand thanks to the addon Honorspy and the toxic PVP community.
No you wouldnt, not on the server i played on, and i did play all the bg’s often back in vanilla, got to rank 11 before i said enough is enough, and i always solo queued.

Premading wasn’t as wide spread and common as back in the day, but it still existed. Everything that players do now, people did back in the day.
What’s really changed about Vanilla and now is simply how people play. The top 10% from back then are probably on par with around 60-70% of today’s players. Made up statistics of course, but you get the point.
You can’t alter the game and all of it’s features to try and mimic the inefficient way the people of old played.
