I re-levelled and re-geared my main, so it no longer applies to me, but it makes sense to me that you guys, who have missed the time window, can keep your characters in Classic Era.

Yea, you donât deserve to play your character in classic era when you take a break for more than a year for ANY reason anyone might have. 
You do realize that characters are gone even if youâve paid for the clone service but didnt finalize the cloning due to not playing era? There is no excuse for that.
What costs are you talking about? Cloud storage in NA costs roughly 1000$/month for 1 PETABYTE. Not even mentioning recouping costs from clones. 12k/year for a company blizz is nothing, thatâs not even a rounding error for them, even if you just look at it infrastructure costs.
Wrong threat and topic to fanboy. Not sure if you dont want the service to return or if you just seriously have nothing better to do with your life than spending your time here annoying people.

I doubt that. If you paid, then your character should be cloned, regardless of whether you actually logged into the clone afterwards or not.
If you really did pay for the cloning, but your clone is not present to play on era, make a ticket about it.

Reason i doubt it is that when you pay for a service, you are entitled to receive the service, otherwise the subject that sold it to you could be sued (for what is basically theft).
I just donât see blizzard opening itself to such an obvious easy shot. They do have a legal departement after all.

You couldnât actually do that, finalising was automatic and straight after paying. Sounds like you never used it so donât know what the process was.
They use their own back ups, for whatever reason, the data is permanently deleted.
Iâm fanboiing when Iâm just repeating what Blizzard have said? I am not putting words into their mouth, ITâS THEIR WORDS I am repeating.
I have said in the many threads about this subject that I want it back but that it isnât coming back, you and I both know if Blizzard had the data the cloning service would be up and running again as they love money, Scrooge McDuck style.
