Roleplay Initiative - Suggestion Index and Wishlist

Secret sethrak hype even if its unlikely…
Though being able to ‘morph’ into whatever form using prisms more easily and being able to use them solo would be just as good, cause you could simply play anything for the purpose of rp without having to wait for an official release of said race (if it would ever make in the first place).

Is it time to sing ‘Holding out for a Hero’ yet?..

may be you can do a RP march and make a video to promote awareness of your suggestion.
i am not RPer but i would walk casually with you on my hunter:)

rp issues require rp solutions!

Appreciate the support really, glad to see it ^^

  1. Transmorpher beacon comes to mind here, but also the Dark Iron or Vrykul Flask.
  2. That leaning against the wall is quite a must-have on humans.

Also, how about being able to assume a combat stance when not in combat and there’s no attackable creatures to trigger it?

I’d also want custom eating/drinking animations, and that you’d be walking around as a real drunk if you are in a drunk state, all over the place, ready to hit the floor any moment. Even a vomitting as in the oldschool Fable if you drink too much, with a debuff preventing you to drink alcohol again if you threw it up shortly beforehand.

I don’t know if this one has been mentioned already, but I thought of it recently and believe it fits the theme of small-effort-big-improvement:

  • Raid-wide party sync! Raid sync?

Phasing is a pain in the peach. In fact, I think it might’ve gotten even worse recently–a while back my guild tried to run an event in Pyrewood (which has never had any phasing and we had events there in the past), and a solid 1/3 of players couldn’t see the rest of the group. Cost us a solid hour to find a replacement location.

Phasing issues can be fixed with party sync, but for guilds with more than 5 active people it’s not helpful at all. Raid-wide sync wouldn’t matter much for non-RPers, but for us it would unlock quite a few locations which are normally unusable due to phasing issues.

Added it to the list, cheers for the feedback ^^

Raid sync seems like a good idea. I still remember getting phased nonstop in zones like twilight highlands which make it really unpleasant to rp there.

Unfortnately the phasing also negatively impacts cross-faction rp cause we had rp events in Tiragarde before where none of the horde players could see our alliance chars and vice versa with no way to solve it.

Unless there was a way to cross-faction party and synch im unsure if you can otherwise even fix phasing differences between the two factions.
Kind of a tricky one to solve, but can confirm it does happen fairly frequently in some areas.

For me the aspect of rp is fairly engaging cause your usual gameplay experience and loop is a fairly solitary one. Outside of mythics perhaps raids or pvp, which can be a bit stressy, there is a distinct lack of just… enjoyable chill interaction with other people?

I forgot who made the point but, a lot of issues stem from the fact we constantly work for bigger numbers to stay competitive against (not with) other people who do the same and that competitiveness kind of becomes a part of how people see and interact with each other.

As there aren’t many activities that promote working together in a more relaxed environment, rp really fills a big gap for many people and should be promoted a bit more whilst looking into offering other alternatives.

Wanted to say this is an awesome initiative, and one I hope will get some attention from the devs.

Before seeing this thread, I made one specifically about adding indicators for when you are typing in /say, /emote and /yell, in order to improve the RP experience just in general: HERE!
I think that would be something to add to the list. Being able to see who is typing with a simple icon above their heads would make roleplaying so much more conventient imo.

This would be great. I, and others I’ve played alongside, have been missing something like this on occasions.

Another thing that I’ve seen players struggle with, just wanting to increase or decrease their size by a little, trying to find the right amount of height modifications to get the desired height or having to break RP on occasion to re-apply the seesaw buff (a certain gnomish criminal… sorry, whiskey seller, comes to mind).

Something I’ve personally had struggles with over the past two years (Jade Forest / Mount Hyjial especially. Also tried roleplaying in Azshara recently but the phasing was horrible). This would be great. Could make everyone enter the raid leader’s phase or so. Also the ability to enter dungeons with a raid group for RP purpouses, or a special “RP” lockout for raids that doesn’t have a player limit and can be switched to at any time.

Will gladly add that one and I agree, that’s a good one.
Could be an option ‘display typing animation’ on/off, which could be as simple as placing a ‘. . .’ next to their name tag or above their head when doing so.

Neat idea, sounds fairly useful honestly.

Fair few suggestions on the list so far…
Been wondering why there aren’t more threads maintained that just list feedback and ideas in a more constructive way.

Thanks for all the replies so far btw, glad this is still going cause I actually expected noone to listen to my rambling over rp friendly features. Glad there’s people that care ^^

Keep it going and something good may come from it, who knows.

May i add a special mentoring role ( plus visual badge as experienced RPer, mentor ) on RP servers for these genuinely new to RP players ( also need a some icon ) who want to start, but need some guidence

i am aware there are ( or at least used to be ) some of these options for TotalRP to pick your experience in this field, but its always better to have that in game for these new new players.
and mentors who are willing to take this role might appreaciate some recognition too.

We need more things for E-rp!

Could help to point people towards others as part of mentoring program you can opt in/out. Both gw2 and ff14 make use of something like it and gw2’s from personal experience has been really helpful.
Such things can be down to the individual players though and ive seen people before use mentor/newcomer chats for trolling.
Still a good idea worth looking into, will add it to the list.

I wholeheartedly disagree as you can privately emote all you want already and there’s plenty skimpy outfits in the game if thats your thing.
E-rp is fairly often done publicly and has rendered some places completely unusable (goldshire).
You do NOT want people to make a new character, walk outside the starting zone and be directly confronted with sexually explicit content.
Big no… remember, this game is played by minors as well as adults and you should know better than to use it for nsfw content.

Shouldn’t be done at all, it’s against the ToS anyway. If you want to do that sort of thing, wow is not the place.

More toys or items made by professions to duplicate the appearance of spells would be nice (like the lenses I already mentioned)

Like being able to use spell effects and casting animations for a purely cosmetic effect?.. Would be neat.
