Ok this thread has clearly gone to crap. The other thing I don’t get is the people defending it saying that it picks up from combat log when an aura is applied etc, this is complete crap as I pick up people afk with no buffs, or people flying overhead all the time.

Anyway gonna peace out of this nonsense childish argument you’ve got going. Anyone who watches a clip like that and tries to defend it is completely moronic.

Combat log is much more talkative than it was in Vanilla, source of the problem concerning what makes Spy a funhater.

This is why I was asking about:

Does it count the application of an aura even when it isn’t actually applied through a manual activation?
For example, if the game loads the player of the opposite faction, and then with the process of loading the player it then loads things on the player, including the auras which the player already had applied beforehand? (Such as buffs, like if I would have 10 minutes left on a power word: fortitude for example)

Because then it would still scan players without players doing anything, as long as there’s an active aura the combat log can pick up.

I mean when you’re on your mount, a player from the opposite faction gets loaded into my “range” so to speak, and if the addon would react to the player not doing anything at all just by the player having a buff that was applied a long time ago and is soon to expire for example?

No, it won’t as far I know.
BUT, on wear off, when in range, that will be logged. And you will become a target.

So it still seems uncertain I’d say. Since healsofsteel could only testify based on memory, not on having tested it properly. xD

(Not to diss Healsofsteel, he’s one of the more levelheaded people in this thread, but memory isn’t always reliable.)

It seems to be using the same text damage meters (and threat meters) relies on to function, so doubt that’ll happen.
