By that logic they should also ban succesfull raidleaders. Its clearly unfair for them to be able to manage large groups of players who all profit in a way they could never do solo.
Again, you speak of “educating yourself” all the time. How can you not see the difference in leading a group and controlling all of them by the click of a button? It’s so much difference.
And you thinks that after selling for 15 years straight to their customer extra accounts, bliz should says : ‘hey, sorry, i’m taking those extra account back, thanks for your support !’ ?
A one player = one account is not a bad rules, but there is no chance in hell that something change. It’s something that need to be on day one.
Probably not.
But banning it on classic should not be too unconsiderable.
Edit: @Malgrok Oh and, you’re fine having several accounts if you want, just don’t play simultaneously on the same server. I’d be fine with making portals for your alt or whatever, through alt-tabbing. But clicking one button and all the 5 characters casts a frostbolt? No, I don’t think that should be allowed.
Name one competitive aspect of the game PVP or PVE where multiboxers are at an advantage against an organized group of the same size.
Go on. Who gets all the world first? Who leads all the PVP ladders? Who does the highest level Mythic+ dungeons? Surely if multiboxing was a blanket auto-win in every aspect of the game, then we’d see multiboxers regular at the top.
Not a single aspect is dominate by boxers. The only context where you get to an advantage is when you compare X amount of multiboxed characters to 1. And the same advantage would be there if the X amount would be non-multiboxers characters.
Now, even if we’re not competitive in any of these areas, it does not mean you ca not have fun seeing how far you can get. I don’t see how this is loston you…
But, my friend, it’s not about the multi-boxer vs the organized group. It’s about the things you do get an advantage of as has been explained now several times. Soloing dungeons, solo pvp in the world. It’s all advantages.
Same arguments.
Im going to solo low level instances for gold. I guess that should be forbidden too. Because on-level i’d need 5 man to do that.
“Maybe you also want to ban…”
Take AoE farming for example, how does this have anything to do with multiboxing? Mages literally have in their spec to AoE farm SOLO. It’s a game mechanic. Multi-boxing is PAY-TO-WIN. See the difference? No? Google up some answers, “get educated” as you say.
It’s not different than to be ganked by 5 separate players… you die anyway. 5 vs 1 = you lose.
This said, as a dual logger myself, I always thought that multiboxing with a system allowing to send commands to multiple characters at once was too much and borderline cheating.
I’m dual logging to that my mage can enchant items of my other characters, so that he can make them portals, and so that I can “boost” my low level alts through dungeons, but I ALWAYS control only ONE character at a time, and I manually swap between the two game sessions with ALT-TAB.
Right. Advantages. Not unfair advantages. They are literally the advantages any group would have.
So if I am willing and able to take on all the responsibilities and work of the whole group, I am doing all the same work that any other group would need to do combined, then why would my group not get the same advantages?
No, unfair advantages. Try looking for a group that’d farm dungeons with you and give all you want for free, nothing in return, and they’d do it for how many days and hours you wanted to.
Yeah, no.
You made the argument of non-fair ingame farming. Not me. Both are legal ways of farming. Ban one, ban the other.
Both are legal game mechanics. And WIN what? If anything, a multiboxer “WINS” the same per account as any single player/account.
You call it “PAY-TO-WIN” because you can’t afford that playstyle or are not skilled enough.
Gear funneling and boosting is a thing that happens in raid guilds all the time. Why is it anymore permissible there?
And you start from the premise that there would be a funneling to begin with. I care about the overall gear of my teams. I give the drops to the character that needs it the most. So there is quo to the quid…
Well, here we go again:
The main reason multiboxing should be bannable is that it is quite litteraly pay to win. It allows you farm obscene amounts of gold that you can then funnel to a main character, either by farming ekos in winterspring, netting you 5x the amount of ekos of any other player.or by solo farming instances and not having to share that loot with 4 other players, allowing to farm way more gold per hour than any current or futur method in the game.
Literally the definition of pay to win btw. If I cannot afford something because of real life money, that’s literally how the rich guys get an advantage with real money. A.k.a pay to win.
I’ve given you examples already of the gold gained from dungeon farming with a multiboxer, clear advantage.
@gnomecapped, Yeah, gear funneling happens all the time, to gear a tank or whatever. But forever? Howwever long you want to do it? Even if they don’t feel like it they have to do it just because you feel like it? I don’t think so. Hence the advantage of not having to depend on other people. You do it on your own terms - ergo you get alot more gold.
Yes, I do it all alone and therefore I get to choose what happens. I do all the work, I get all the benefit. Perfectly fair.
Done. To. DEATH!
And I’m sure there are more in the Archived section too.
If you’d do it solo, with one character. Sure thing, amen!
But not with 5 characters all at once. It’s not fair.
Pay to win is lamego back to mobile games
