It only does that if you have an ability or buff active that lets you track humanoids.

Scroll up a bit and you will find the strategy another player proposed to legally wallhack with the SPY addon: click on the target, mark them with a skull and you will be able to see them through solid objects. In other words, yes, it does enable you to do exactly what I said.
Its an unfair advantage to people who do not use the addon its fact no point in denying it or defending it its true, people who do not use it has an disadvantage against people with it.
Thats it and i just want blizzard to reply on the matter about this addon.

First i’ve heard of it.
Pretty sure you can do that anyway if you’re looking in the general direction and use tab targeting.
Maybe it is, but following that logic players who use DBM also have an unfair advantage over those who don’t use it.
Same with people who use Questie, Gathermate, Healbot or any of the other countless addons that make certain aspects of the game a little easier.
Like I said, if they break Spy then they should break any other similar addon too.

You certainly can if you are close enough to get a target with tab.
And if indeed you are, you would certainly not be hitting tab out of the blue without the addon’s beep telling you to. It also doesn’t account for target-heavy locations that would further deteriorate the quality of your target acquirement strategy.
Do you see why this addon could be perceived to be an issue?

You have ignored 7/9 classes and the other half of my post. Now, why ever would you do that?
Because stealthers are at biggest disadvantage from the addon?
These addons you talk about i have no idea about tbh questie/healbot im not sure what to say about them other than questie should not be used but tbh google will do the same thing as this addon but will just take more time so nothing you can do about it really.
DBM i have also said this is a cheat and should not be used in classic, it should be a hardcore mode of the game we all enjoy.
You have to remember tho these addons, are individual usage and have no effects on the world for others, this spy addon can be used to alert players in the whole area you are in of coordinates of the opposing faction which effects others not just yourself.
I fail to see how this warrants a response to me? I haven’t adressed close-to-target sealth entering. It certainly seemed like you were saying ‘quick reactions to stealth sounds do the same this addon does’. Which is obviously not the case.
We are if you know we are within your area and u know we have pre buffed, used poisons and for example reset cooldowns as a rogue using preparation, you are fully aware that i am going to engage at that point as the spy addon just told you i have done that.

this post is dumb, in vanilla everyone had VanasKos which did the same … Hell it even targeted people from your own race

Look, anybody defending this addon is purely defending it for selfish reasons because they plan on using it for their Rank 10/14 grind.
It simply doesn’t belong in Classic, and I hope Blizzard ban it.

Which brings us right back to my initial response: You have ignored half of my post. No, in target-rich environments you will not tab and immediately get the rogue who will be gone from your potential tab targets after a second. Nor do you address the vast majority of classes who don’t stealth and whos’ ambushes get halted prematurely by this addon rather than the players’ vigilance.

In a target rich environment, Spy is not needed… you can already see the targets.
When it’s just you and the rogue, tab can work - hear that stealth noise, tab until it’s selected. For non stealthers, open eyes work too.
Ofc, the spy addon helps, and that is the whole point of addons. Either take em all out, or leave spy as is.
