I like how you completely made this up, it was in vanilla, its in classic. Leave the game please. I had a nearly IDENTICAL addon in Vanilla. Deal with it or leave classic.
He is 100% lying about what it does. So why believe anything he says. Infact here is a post in 2011.

Take out the extra “/” and it was 100% around even earlier.
Here is a link to Vanas KoS from 2008

that last part about it detecting stealth is really on the cheat side of the spectrum as the addon is apparently able to scan the combat log from distances way further than render distance meaning you will almost always know when there’s a rogue stealthed near you which does kind of put a massive downer on rogues and druids stealthing around expecting them to be hidden. I’ve seen streamers level with it and instantly know from 40+ yards away when a rogue’s around and when to just run away cause there’s a 60 rogue stealthing around. Anyone not using this addon would not have known about the rogue. So I agree it’s definitely on the cheaty side
No.
The render distance is at least 60y, if I remember correctly.
Not true, all the info used by the addon is available to players anyway.

If the addon gets disabled we will just read information from combat logs and filter out anything irrelevant using chat filters and use special fonts and colors for important stuff like stealth. The only way to truly break this type of addons would be to break the combat log which is not a good idea
I vote for this addon to be banned.
Blizz don’t ban addons.
If an addon does something that is unacceptable, they remove the functionality that makes it possible.
In this case, it would be making addons unable to parse the combat logs, which would also break every other addon that does it, meaning goodbye all dmg and threat meters, and most likely all DBM type mods.
Oh again this topic… Guys there WAS the exactlysame addon in vanilla called Paranoia.
It is a basic combat log parser, make a new chat window, make enemy player actions red and 18 punto. Bam magic! You got spy addon.
Don’t be the pathetic guy defending something with such poor arguments. The info you talk about would literally be unreadable and unusable by a human being, the combat log is either divided in tabs where you check what sources to show and what not (meaning you can not look at more than 1 tab at once) or all concentrated in 1 tab, which means the amount of categories of messages shown would be so huge you could not literally read and compute them quick enough, especially in more populated areas.
It once happened to me that I retrieved my corpse hidden behing a huge tree in Un’goro, there is no way my camper would have seen me on the screen, yet they just targeted me through that addon and attacked me through the tree (trees don’t LoS). So if you claim this addon does not give relevant extra help you are either a fool, or a pathetic liar.
…you do know that you can unlock the combat log window, separate it from the main chat window, customize font size and colours, specify that you only want to see actions taken by enemy players (or units, for that matter), and even set different colours for different events…?
Right?
I mean, you’re not just assuming what you can do with the standard interface based on ignorance or anything…?
This is literally what I said. But you skipped the part “good luck doing it manually, reading and evaluating EACH line while also playing the game”, 3/10 for the poor effort.
Has spy ruined classic wpvp yet? Or are you guys worrying about nothing.
The only part of of a Spy that could be broken would be making of extra clickable enemy frames, that way the add on could read the chat log and send a message “enemy x spotted” but you would have to manually look around yourself and click on him/her

you can’t keybind to target a specific unit, you can just cycle the previous ones or the nearest one, in neither way equal to targeting a specific player directly.
No, that’s literally not what you said.
You also didn’t say “ good luck doing it manually, reading and evaluating EACH line while also playing the game ”, so skipping that part was pretty easy.
You said it was impossible for anyone to use the combat log in the way Spy does.
Which is wrong, precisely for the reasons I listed.
But apparently you’re more concerned about sticking to your narrative and complaining rather than details and knowing how Spy works.

Is there a Blizzard stance on this addon, it literally negates a core mechanic of the Rogue class.
It is absolutely ridiculous if Blizzard don’t ban it… but then again ridiculous is Blizzard’s middle name!
Considering it and addons like it have been around for more than a decade, without the functionality being removed or any comments about it being made, I’d say their stance is quite clear.
And no, it doesn’t. You can’t target someone in stealth, or even know where they are. It simply tells you that someone has gone into stealth.
That does give you the advantage of knowing there’s someone in stealth somewhere nearby, but nothing more. You won’t know if they’re coming, going, or just chilling while they afk. But the advantage is no more than you get from the majority of addons.
And yes, I do have a rogue, which I’m specifically leveling for PvP, so people will be getting notified about me aswell.

I never said it doesnt help. Guess what, thats what addons are for - they all help with something that is inconvenient yet possible to do manually, thats what addons do, lol.
Talking about poor arguments, why dont you check your own post first…
