TBC / Wotlk things you hate

Bloodlust in tbc doesn’t work the same way it does in wotlk and later, so even if mages were to get time warp to compensate, you’d still have to roll horde to be able to compete.

TBC

  • Raids and attunements
  • Neutral city

WOTLK

  • Death knights, and im not only talking about their role in wotlk
  • Zones, their lores and specially the lack of connection between them
  • Quests
  • Neutral city
  • Class homogenization
  • Daily quests
  • LFG
  • Dual specialization
  • Dungeons, (incomparable better in tbc and classic)
  • Phasing
  • Vehicles
  • Mounts collections

In conclusion, TBC was probably the best xpac and wotlk on pair with cata and draenor, one of the worst. Had more fun playing BFA than wotlk.

I didn’t really “hate” anything in either expansions, however I didn’t like the addition of resilience in TBC and in WotLK I didn’t like LFD ToC or all the phasing.

It only affects your own group and sated debuff doesn’t exist, so you needed A LOT of shamans. Pair that with mages being basically the exact same as warlocks except worse in every way, so you can’t bring a lot of them, and you have to play horde to compete.

Negative player attitude.
Instead of focusing on whatever you like about an expansion, let’s try and formalize the subject of your hatred, so you can (a) be miserable or (b) stay away for good or © convince others that it sucks.

The last few months have shown that Classic isn’t fantastic either. In fact, much of the playerbase was quite miserable, apparently - looking at the past with rose tinted glasses and then being hit by reality twice as hard. Most of my friend list quit, too.

… Not sure I dislike much about these iterations. I’m somewhat worried about realm population causing troubles with leveling and daily quests. The rest I like.

No, melee classes definitely don’t have same tools aka utility. Maybe try to learn these classes before you tell this

Just some unique utility tools dungeon wise (not talking about dmg, just utility tools).

WW monks have aoe stun + paralise + ring of peace which allows some skips which would be impossible without it + they have mystic touch which increases physical dmg taken on their target by 5%.

Rogues have shroud which is probably the best utility spell in the game. They also got high amount of ways how to interrupt mobs and have one of the best aoe dmg. They also have a sap.

DHs got AoE stun, darkness for party which is extremely usable, they also increase magical dmg taken on their targets by 5%. They have high amount of leech so they are very durable and don’t need much healing while in metamorphosis.

DKs can enslave undead mobs which is extremely usable and they got grip which is again very good against noninterruptable mobs which cast very dangerous spells for the party.

Warriors have battle shout for the party, 10% attack power is huge buff. They also got HP shout and instant ranged stun.

So can you tell me how are these classes all the same? Rotations are completely different too.

It really seems to me that only people who play a lot of characters on a noob level say this “all classes play the same” crap. In order to see differences and niches of every class you simply have to invest some time to play it in depth. If you smash 5 buttons on your 10 characters doing world quests ofc it feels like it is the same.

TBC

Flying
Reduced Raid Numbers
Resilience
Paladins on Horde
Shamans on Alliance
Black Temple Attunement

Things I liked…
Classes got allot of fixes, making them more viable in different roles
Gear got allot of fixes again helping classes and roles be more viable

Those are actually the only two things I can think of I like, but they are quite major ones which make me torn between whether or not I want TBC.

I quit midway through WotLK, but one thin I hate about both expansions, how they always make old content redundant. I rather have content that adds rather than gives with one hand and takes away with the other.

I dunno, but it makes me giggle to see somebody criticizing how Rets were in TBC and/or WotLK, considering the horrible state they were in Vanilla.

Not sure you seem to understand how braindead ret was in WotlK.
I really don’t think you’re aware.

I did play WotLK Ret, as well as TBC Ret. And yes, it was quite a straightforward class which didn’t require, say, the same level of skill of something like Affliction warlock or Enhancement shaman to do its highest DPS potential. But it was still a significant improvement over its Classic counterpart. And I frankly prefer it to the Holy Power rogue-esque abomination we have today.

Ofc you’re entitled to hate it if you don’t like it. I just would find it odd if you didn’t at least see it as an improvement over how things were in Vanilla.

I love how people judge classic on the achievements of others and the first raid that was done in one week. Have not seen or step foot in BWL, AQ40 or Naxx even ZG but classic is a face roll. Not taking into account that we have the 1,12 patch and nerfed raids. Or that most people can not clear MC in 1h or 3-4 man Onyxia and the people that usually use that as an example can not do it themselves. Funny really.
