I certainly agree that gear isn’t the only issue. You can push to 1800 with ~200 gear. But the effort and skill needed to compensate for the huge gear disparity is disproportionate to the rating in my opinion. You shouldn’t have to play like a gladiator in order to reach 1800 rating.

Triller is a multi-Gladiator/r1, plays multiple classes and plays with geared people. I don’t think he’s a good indicator of how easy or how hard it is to push rating for the average Joe.

Hopefully 9.1 will bring back the WoD gearing system. That should reduce this ridiculous gear gap and hopefully drasticallly reduce the number of boosters on lower ratings.

Do you see anyone laughing about your constant abuse and insulting others and calling it banter and a meme ? Just give it a rest about peoples levels ,logs, post count, item level and focus on what they say .
Attack there views not the person its getting really on harrassment levels by you now .

Towelliee is the biggest joke.

The issue with boosting isn’t that it exists, it always has in this and many other games in various ways. The actual issue is that boosting has become so normalized that some players have opted into the notion that they should either buy or consider buying a boost (or more) for progressing with gear/score etc. It defeats the purpose of what an MMORPG should feel like imo.

Its incredibly sad that there is often a monetary value (whether that be real money or in game gold) to playing with or helping others these days.

He must have read my topic: The current state of WoW's PvP Matchmaking System, by TheScepticOne - #6 by Droodprophet-aggramar

I mean, same could be said in regards to PvPers forced to PvE the past couple expansions. Both M+ and Raiding.

There is very popular Polish streamer “Nexos”. He also got boosted in RBG by people from my guild. This guy doesn’t even know how to deal damage properly and then he made a video where he kills undergeared people in random BG calling them trash and shouting like a stupid kid #streamers

You might not understand Polish but from his gameplay and weird sounds he makes you can clearly see what it is about. He is not even casting Lavaburst before Lightning Bolt from Stormkeeper for 20% more Nature Damage. He is also one of the worst examples of Polish community. His nickname literally means “sexual intercourse”.

Yes that’s been my point several times. Nobody likes being forced into other parts of the game, Blizzard are obsessed with it. I preferred the simple times of PvP stats where the two (PvP/PvE) were completely separate and the gear didn’t work in the other.

We fought to get the PvP vendor back, then they messed it all up for PvE.

Sorry, should’ve waited to get through the whole thread before I posted! Was just scrolling and kinda quick-posted.

It is, sort of however for PvP often the case for anything 2k and above. Often also, ‘piloting’ which isn’t allowed either because it’s both a lot faster, and easier that way. Also, PvP effects other players during the boosting process… It’s mentioned in a decent chunk of PvP threads in regards to trying to fight gladiator, multi-r1 players that are ‘smurfing’ or ‘piloting/boosting’ making it harder for regular players to earn rating.

They SAY they don’t get any real money. However, I’ve seen PvPers that do boosts promoting Blazingboost which, their website OFFICIALLY sells in real money too. Same people have been promoting THAT place for SO very long you will see old PvP videos littered with that website name. It’s kind of like when a top rogue player was account sharing with tons of people to boost them up and for him to try out different classes, he would do it with ‘subs’ of his or people that donated.

I do recall you posting about them before in other threads and how bad LFG is with all those boosts in there. Maybe you even made a thread on it? I forget which. How it works is each bnet account gets I think it’s up to 8 licenses and then anymore you have to create a new bnet. Which these people do, since those accounts get a ‘silence’ which doubles every time they do it they tend to cycle through all of those licenses and accounts and when they run out it’s really not expensive to get a new one especially if they want to use tokens instead of money to do so.

I do say that there’s a lot LESS of PvE boosts that are RMT, like a VERY small % but I think most of the RMT boosts/pilots are from PvP, especially arena since it’s very tricky to carry/boost someone above certain rating.

Sort of, in LFG tool and forums(if they don’t play on that server) Yes. In trade chat? It’s kinda unclear, but a possibility. GMs tend to say ‘if enough people report it, clearly it’s effecting their gameplay and we tend to take action on it’ BUT a lot of people opt to leave trade chat because spending all your time reporting the endless boost spam in trade every time you log in? Pretty much an exercise in futility.

I can show you the price lists of several boosting communities that only take gold and don’t RMT. I have never claimed that there aren’t gold sellers and boost sellers websites for real money on the internet.

People have successfully bought pvp boosts for gold via reputable boosting communities. The demand for PvP boosts shot through the roof as it was the best way to gear at the start of the tier and ratings were required to access higher rewards.

We have repeatedly brought up the issue of advertisers in LFG, incidentally they are the ones that are most likely to be the websites selling for real money types and I even got a blue response once about it. Despite short term bans being reported by people advertising, it has done little to deter this practice. It’s a bit like back in the day they couldn’t stop Gold Sellers from spamming, we’d keep reporting but they’d keep reappearing.

You can have eight licenses on a Battle net.

How about the high rated PvP ones that are watched largely because of their sick PvP skills and are often the ones boosting their viewers? Or those from top-tier raid guilds.

There are some very skilled streamers but there are equally some that are just there to entertain

Not sure if I can directly link the website in question or even upload screenshots of the page but Blazing very clearly shows all that and has quite a few.

As for Towellliee my taste was kind of soured on them from years ago when they used to troll RP servers and ‘invade’ them for PvP and other parties. Towelliee used to be sponsored by G2A which is one of those shady websites in general, know they were even in 2019.

I just feel like people attack boosting a lot because of that small minority that DO RMT and other people in those communities know but don’t say anything about it which is a problem in itself.

That one was brought up alot on the web By FatbossTV themselves also by Preach at the time who was in thier guild and Fatboss guides it was not them just someone using their name in game, probably the same with Towelliee and no doubt many other notable WoW content creators.

That’s one of the issues with in game chat you can literally write what you want whether its true or not

Personally I think there are far more doing RMT than just gold sales, its certainly not a minority

Just as a side note, most of the RWF raiders in LIMIT were banned a couple of years ago for RMT sale through Blazing boosts.
Some after that were further banned for buying existing accounts and using those too

Ah, I see. Apologies, I don’t watch either. For streams I tend to be more PvP oriented.

At no point have I denied that dodgy websites exist offering boosts for real money. I’m not sure how many other ways I can say that.

I don’t really have an opinion on Towelliee, he’s a successful streamer but I am not really someone who watches streams. I’d rather play myself than watch someone else play a game. I know it’s a very popular medium for many, they will put them on in the background while doing things.

I have several friends who boost, none of them get any real money it’s all done in gold. They are all part of boosting communities which are run via discords. Some even have policies where if a potential customer starts asking about paying in real money they will refuse to deal with them.

Blizzard will probably never be able to completely remove RMT, all it can do is harshly punish those that are caught. Like with Gallywix. They suspended the guilty parties, the boosters all went elsewhere and the suspended accounts took billions of gold out of circulation.

I remember that, they did an announcement to distance themselves from it.

sorry for the off topic question but
does someone else have a issue with the forum displaying your char mog?
