Unfortunate dark side of WoW Classic

Some people are incapable of logical reasoning. So what Elaniela said is best.

I never once said anything about stealing anything, don’t try to spin the discussion into portraying me as some evil dude who steals stuff.

Dat entertainment value though!

Yea I agree on that, I guess words change their meanings in some people’s eyes.

That’s basically what it is though, you took an item away from someone that needed it because you were greedy

Which item did I take, from whom and when? What are you on about, lol.

It’s a hypothetical…

Well why don’t you wait with the accusations until you got something more than ā€œhypotheticalā€, otherwise you sounds like a complete tool.

I agree with TotalHunter…
If your character can equip the item and its better than currently in slot then NEED
If its an BOE and you cannot equip and/or not better than currently in slot then GREED.

If everyone Need’s BOE items how is that fair for someone who wants to use the item for their character compared to someone who is GREEDY for gold by selling it on the AH, surely this is the entire point of the Need before Greed system?

Did I miss 20 minutes or something - how hard is this to understand?

I think its another ploy for people to get more items for their gold count

I have seen players actually downgrade their equipped item. In order to ā€œneedā€ on BoE items for later resale via AH alt.

If you aren’t in a trusted group. Just need on BoE unless something else has been discussed, if any person ā€œneedsā€ a BoE item, why haven’t or won’t they just grind the money to buy it.

My current toon is covered in BoE blue/epics, only one dropped for me.

What you said would be fair if there was no way to buy BoEs for gold.
But there is.
So yeah, you’re pretty much completely wrong.

That’s bs.

Try explaining this situation to any person and they would agree that the person that needs the item for an upgrade should get it. Just because your morals are so low that you want to take it for gold says a lot about you.

What about the reverse situation when a a BoE epic gun drops and I let everyone roll on it instead of demanding for myself? What does that say to you about me?
You constantly trying to take moral highground in this discussion is frankly quite pathetic.

Then nothing? It’s weird but that’s it.

Because I have the moral high ground on this, and you thinking that you are on equal grounds is pathetic to me.

I don’t get how you can argue your thirst for gold is of equal value of a BiS item for someone who actually needs it

What makes you think I have a thirst for gold?

because you try to defend needing on an item just for it’s gold value while someone needs it

And what does that have to do with my thirst of gold?

See above, not much to say really.

If you defend needing an item just for it’s gold value against someone who needs it you must have a thirst for gold

Ok. Doesn’t make sense at all, but whatever makes you feel better, I suppose…

Why doesn’t the person already have the BiS item equipped before the dungeon even starts?

Watch out, it can be a rabbit hole.

I’m not confused about it. It’s just a very alien mindset to me that I’ll never fully grasp, and I don’t mind that.

I’ve never been very lucky with epics and rolls and in that sense it’s not even about me not wanting resistance on an epic item that might drop for me. It’s simply about the joy of someone else for who an appropriate item drops and they get the chance to use it. That’s just 10 million times awesomer than everyone needing with the intent to sell.

I know we’ll not agree on this so in that sense you can pick apart what I said but it’s pointless. I won’t change my mind on this and I prefer to play with others who experience this the same way. To allow others joy and satisfaction at that moment is joy and satisfaction to me.
