due to no cross relm name and shame as the player will soon find himself known as a bad egg on the server and have trouble getting a group.
So because you are willing to give away items and gold, everyone who isnt must be a greedy scum?
If you need a BoE dagger you can go and buy it on the AH. And if you dont have enough, then dont pretend like it isnt about gold, because it is. BoE is a bag with gold, and saying someone shouldnt roll on it is silly.
Very true 10 char
You are doing it right m8. Itâs hard to behave ethically sometimes, in game and in life, but it pays off on the long term
BOE epics always need to avoid such cases. Never see greed on boe at pv severs.
Same thing happend in my ZF group, Lock needed on an epic ring that gives shadow spell power. Everyone passed as he was the only person who could use it but near the end of the dungeon i noticed he hadent equipped it. Told him to do so or gtfo the group. He equipped it lol.
Just donât press Need or Greed on the rolled BoE epic first. Wait for the group to communicate & someone to lead by example. It can even be you, but only after you made sure you have some confirmations in chat.
Prevents this issue, in my opinion.
simple rule in rnd grps: everyone just roll need on epic.
It doesnt matter if person A saves 300g from the boe or Person B,C,D or E wins a boe worth 300g to sell.
Everyone should be equal and i think its very rude to think you anyone has more right on it than the others.
Never had any drama with this method because there cant be any drama
I never said I am willing to give away items AND gold. Wtf ? If you believe that if I pass on an item where someone needs it means I am giving away items and gold, then we have very different play style and mentality.
As I said, be my guess and keep this mentality. To each his own. I would rather earn gold the other way then Ninja a item because of my selfish entitle kid attitude because ââŚi need goldâ.
Itâs not ninjaing if itâs a preagreed roll system.
If everyone in the group agrees need boe. Then whoever wins cannot ninja the loot, even if someone else in the group could utilise said item.
Ninjaing is where someone violates the agreed looting rules of the group to take an item for themselves.
What system other groups use to determine their loot distribution is not really any of your business and to label them for doing a system that keeps them and their groups happy isnât a good look. You can convince yourself youâre âbeing ethicalâ but only in a wierd abstract sense. If everyone in a group is happy with boe need, then thatâs that.
The solution is always discuss such before rolling.
Always need on BoEâs.

Itâs not ninjaing if itâs a preagreed roll system.
Never in my conversation between me and others, we talked about this. IF is a preagreed roll system before starting a dungeon, then yes. But you are quoting me on something which has nothing to do with what you are saying.

If everyone in the group agrees need boe. Then whoever wins cannot ninja the loot, even if someone else in the group could utilise said item.
Read above!

Again, you are assuming like we already made rules in our above replyâs, which is not the case.

Yes, thatâs the best solution, but for the 3rd time, quote someone whoâs disagreeing with what you said. I wasnât âŚ
Maybe he went to enchant it and wear it after.
He won it. Whatâs the point of discussion at all?
If he ninja-looted it and left the group or raid, alright. Bad person.
But here everything is obvious. The guy won in a fair roll battle.
Itâs completely up to him what to do with it. He can wear it, disenchant or even sell to get some gold for his own needs.
Its not anyoneâs business anymore.
When it comes to epics, âNeedâ means âI need those 500gâ. You donât need 500g? Feel free to greed.
Need = I need that item for my character âŚ
Greed = I dont need it for my character, but I would like to sell it âŚ
Its not rocket science âŚ
Wrong, an item that is pretty much guaranteed to sell for lets say 300g, means you can quickly convert it from that BOE epic to the BOE epic you NEED via the AH.
If everyone âneedsâ on the BOE AH fodder items, you donât ever get that ninja roll where you feel someone took it and sold it.
Everyone can take 300g and convert it into an item they need etc.
Equally someone on the run could then just buy it from the roll winner.

I never said I am willing to give away items AND gold. Wtf ? If you believe that if I pass on an item where someone needs it means I am giving away items and gold, then we have very different play style and mentality.
I think if you werenât so focused on what a terrible greedy person I am for disagreeing with you, and instead tried to actually get my point, you would eventually agree with my stance.
If you âGreedâ on a BoE youâre giving up your chance to get the item. And BoE items are basically bags of gold, because they are interchangeable. You can trade gold for items and you can sell items for gold.
Now, I donât suppose you would say that someone should have a higher priority than other group members when rolling for gold. BoEs are no different, because you either get the gold by selling the item or you save the same amount gold by not needing to buy it if you win.

I would rather earn gold the other way then Ninja a item because of my selfish entitle kid attitude because ââŚi need goldâ.
But I do need gold. Same as you. If you didnât need the gold in that example, you would already have that item via buying it off the AH. Me needing on a BoE to sell it is not one bit more selfish than you rolling to wear it.

Need = I need that item for my character âŚ
Greed = I dont need it for my character, but I would like to sell it âŚIts not rocket science âŚ
Thing is, you simply stating it doesnât automatically make it true. You are being presented with arguments for why people should âNeedâ on BoEs for more simple and fair loot distribution, and you just reply with âMy way is the correct wayâ. Iâm afraid thatâs not how arguments work.
And yes, you do need gold for your character. What else would you need gold for? Goldshire hookers?

No, that is exactly what Need and Greed means.
Let me type it again for you :
Need = I need that item for my character âŚ
Greed = I dont need it for my character, but I would like to sell it âŚ
There you go!
Edit:
Need Before Greed describes a rule of looting etiquette as well as the loot setting enforcing that etiquitte. While part of a party most players will expect that if they need an item they should get first pick at it before those who want it for Greed. For example, a party consisting of a Rogue, a Mage, and a Warrior walk into a bar and loot some rare cloth armor. All of them can potentially wear that armor, but only the mage really needs it, the rest will likely just sell it or give it to an alt (see Greed). Therefore, it is expected that the warrior and rogue will allow the mage to have it by not rolling on the item.

Let me type it again for you :
I know what âNeed before greedâ means. Iâm not sure why you posted that.

No you donât! See also my Edit.
If you did know, you wouldnât have typed that!
