There are no addon rules, there are rules that Blizzard makes, there is nothing about this addon that anyone with normal sense would say is acceptable, idk why you gave me list of some old games you played am I supposed to be impressed, or does it somehow make gibberish about addons right?

All you said is just opinion. I gave some facts about what the addon can really make. My opinion about it is that I don’t care if it stays or it is removed.

i use this addon as a priest. i was wondering nobody mentioned the great synergy with ‘mind vision’. use mind vision on ppl flying above you and let spy add the people to your list.
the range of the addon is insane. if i land in felwood i can detect ppl in jadenar under me that i would only reach after killing 50+ mobs.
this is just insanely game breaking. i feel like the raven guy from games of thrones seeing through the zones.
approaching a cave you already know how many enemy players are in there and which class + level they are. and on top of it, i can check via mind vision which equip they have and if they are low health and in combat with a boss.
i do love the addon, but i also agree that this is not an authentic experience and the events leading to the addon being able to display this information should be hidden.
You must be very old, not so smart though, but not everything comes with age.
??? ??? what are you talking about? Having enemy castbars is waaay more impactful than being able to detect enemies around you. LOL
of course there are addons that can do that. ClassicAuraDurations and neatPlates does it.

Maybe Blizzard hate rogues
How is this using hunter like abilitiues - or track humanoids as druids have - you don’t see anyone on the minimap, it just annoucnes people are near or someone stealthed - nothing more. if you had your combat log dispalyed it should show on there anyway.

Every thread about Spy is full of overdramatizing. It’s not like the addon wins fights for you…
I also see no way of banning the addon without drastically changing how the combat log works.

You sure ? I’m talking about enemies buffs on them, not debuffs.

Yeah it detects people near you, so what? Track Humanoids and that one potion that tracks humanoids does it better and last I checked people weren’t throwing hissy fits about them and insisting that they ruin WPvP.
You still have to win the fight, likewise with playing a Rogue, who cares if someone knows i’m nearby? They still don’t know where I am exactly and if they stick an AoE or a trap down, chug a potion or pop a CD all I have to do is stand by and watch them waste time and resources waiting for a fight that I decide when to start.

Tracking humenoids does not do it better, try to track something when you have mobs around you who are humenoids, not only that , it tracks your faction and shows it as red just as enemy, also tracking humenoids have way shorter range.
Also for smartasses who say it is same as having open console be my guest, try to play game and check your console constantly and descript information you get from there, you have some crazy processing abilities guys, not gonna lie.

Same thing goes for literally any other addon that uses difficult to track information and makes it more visible.
You gonna ask them to ban Omen? DBM? Questie? GatherMate? WeakAuras?
Because it sounds to me like you have a problem with all addons rather than just Spy.
Actually I do think that they all are cancer that does not belong to game, but there are bad addons and not that bad, like questie ,gathermate are not big deal, rest you named are cheats.
But GatherMate gives you a massive advantage other people who don’t have it, hell it even gives you information that is also extremely difficult to track.
Same with Questie, normally you’d have to look up the quests yourself or depend on vague quest logs for clues.
At the end of the day it’s Blizzard who decides what’s bad and what isn’t, they’ve been okay with DBM, Omen and addons like Spy since Vanilla and unfortunately they can’t rightfully ban Spy without also banning all the other thousands and thousands of addons that access the same information that Spy accesses and alienating a vast, vast majority of their playerbase.
You’re welcome to believe that it’s cheating, that’s fine, but just remember that these addons have been a part of the game for the majority of the game’s life, if they were okay with it then then it’s likely not going anywhere.
I know it is Blizzards decision at the end of the day, did I say that I am the one who decides?
As I know GatherMate only lets you see nodes you mined,herbs you picked on map , so not sure what you mean by some information that is also extremely difficult to track.
