Why AV is ruined at the moment! Why alliance can't win!

Noone to blame but your own incompetence.

We care. Maybe it’s one of the reasons (if not THE reason) of Horde dominating this BG.
Maybe Blizzard should give less honor for a lost game. There are games, where we destroy 3 bunkers, kill Balinda and win the game, and Alliance without destroying any towers get 3600 honor bonus (we get 5000). Where is the motivation here?
PS: of course any unfair advantage of the map, should be fixed first.

I was talking about the fight, in between SP and SH GYs. Allies always lose that fight, and I don’t see many of them fighting. Maybe 15 players maximum. That means, that rest of the raid just want to get some honor and get finished. That mentality doesn’t help.
You all think that IW bunker is impossible to pass, but IB passage is easy? If Alliance want to patrol that point, only stealthers are able to pass.

Got my exalted yesterday, here are my thoughts on the AV situation:

Alliance doesn’t care about winning, period. Reputation farmers wants to fight for SH/IGBY get turn in rep items and AFK until horde wins. Honor farmers wants to Kill all the LTs and maybe cap IBT and TP and let the horde win.
I’ve won about 15 games during my rep farm and every time i won ppl were actually interested in winning and playing the game. Yes the map kind of favors horde but it’s not critical disadvantage to guarantee 100% loose rate for the Alliance. Attitude is the main reason IMO. I also don’t think that having non 60 characters and bots is crucial because there are plenty of them on the horde side too.

I’ve seen some hilarious situations where 4-5 horde players would cap the entire alliance base and instead of doing recall and stopping them ppl were supporting them and asking to not defend. Absolutely pathetic. I would actually like to play more AV occasionally because i like the idea of massive battlefield but situations like this completely kills the fun for me. I don’t mind loosing an 40min-1h game when everyone was fighting for the win but game where everyone is willing to loose right from the start is just straight up sad.

You want to win? Get SF Grave … Lose SH Grave for a moment …

Literally that is how I have had a 9x% win rate, Horde fight for SF Grave, the second Horde get it (5min into the game) SH Grave is over whelmed, then both bunkers fall 5min latter.

Some ally push forward, tap a couple of towers/grave or two and lose it to recalls and reinforcements from … wait for it … SF Grave.

It basically is the reason that horde dominate AV.
They get maximum honor out of the AV and basically give up.

All it’s about is basically just grinding the best honor per hour.

most of the time joining an AV as alliance you see like “tactic? ok lets just lose” some kind of that attitude. Then you start the game and atleast 5 people afk either in base or leech kill honor in bunkers and the afk system doesnt do anything and most dont even report them.

I won very often and I am most likely already 4 times exalted. I didnt count the games but after the AV weekend I atleast had a 30-35% winrate as alliance and without these weekends I had like 10% (mostly vs russians). People instantly give up when its not russians and just go the turtle mode, leech honor kills and rep for their own pleasure. Nothing to do with teamplay.

SF is almost useless for the alliance offence. The only thing it accomplishes is that it makes it harder for horde to trap them north since alliance still needs to push the exact same choke to attack. Not to mention how difficult it is to push it if horde is defending it since they’re at the bottom of the ramp on alliance’s side at the same time alliance is. Also “lose SH grave for a moment”? Once SH is soft capped you’re not getting it back 95% of the time since it takes so long for the respawning defence to actually get there (unlike the horde side).

SF gives much better honor for Alliance and worst for Horde, that’s why Horde try so hard to get it back. Whenever Horde doesn’t get SF, they rush all the way, afraid of loosing and knowing they can’t protect their towers and lts anymore.

SH Grave is easily flanked (right side and left side of Belinda) … Once Horde get SF Grave --> SH Grave is overwhelmed and so the onion peeling begins.

As Alliance I would use my SH Grave advantage and have 40 players get SF Grave at all cost which would flip the tables and allow Ally to regain SH Grave and safe guard first 2 Ally Bunkers!

40 players to get SF is a rough job for alliance when there are 4-8 as go questing in cave. 2 -4 afk in cave and a sheer amount of mounted leechers at gy. You re actually lucky if you have 20 participating in the actual battle. When it comes to it, allies are not interested in winning, its to go for a fast loss as rarely happens.

Then its a loss … Horde throw almost 40 players at SF by flanking SH … As soon as SF is capped its pretty much a win.

Again even if Alliance get SF and keep SH it doesn’t do much other than prevent the horde from trapping them north as they will still most likely need to give up SH to get IB because it’s impossible to push the choke at IB or later TP with so many horde south unless the alliance are much stronger than the horde which in a pug doesn’t happen very often. I’ve been in plenty of games where alliance get SF before losing SH but if you have even 20 horde defending the IB choke it’s almost impossible to push to the flag.

Horde will rush after SF is defended for 5 minutes by Alliance, no point in keeping 20 players in IB GY.

alliance could easily just zerg horde down like they get zerged in 99% of AVs.

problem is not map, not racials, not stupid ret paladins, not 60% mounts not anything.

Real problem are the loser rankers who are too bad for ab/Wsg and come with their stupid “rush south kill lt and go afk tactic”

its not worth for their honor/hour to drag and defend for a 1hour win when they could technically get bonus honor and lose in 15min.

Best AV fix and how alliance could easily go back to high winrate is to hold bonus honor back and only grant the winning team any bonus honor and let the losers leave with 0 honor.
i can assure you alliance will win every single game again

The only way, Alliance can win, is a big group attacking IB GY. They need 5-7 healers and good geared Warriors. It is like a wall and because AV is filled with bad players, waves of Hordes, smash on that wall, without being able to kill a single opponent. Then that group should cap both towers and not wait for GY being captured. If the Horde defenders are low in numbers (<10) or power, a group of 5-8 could go south and get the base.
I am exalted with both characters. For the last two weeks, I see a degradation of Alliance in AV. They keep doing the same mistakes. For example riding to IB or SF and being killed 1 by 1 by a small force of Hordes, instead of dismounting and smash them. Or something worse, when 10 people dismount, to kill 1 opponent and losing so much time. I lure them with my Rogue all the time.
Battlegrounds is not a place for duels. People fail to see that. They literally afraid to die. Or blindly attack whatever is in front of them, ignoring healers.
I don’t play WSG or AB if not in a premade anymore. If we were not winning AVs, I wouldn’t play AV either. People’s incompetence, make me sad and angry.
My sympathy to Alliance players, who can PvP and are trying hard to win every time. I feel you.

It’s hard to not be afraid to die if dying means that u will most likely get locked down north for the rest of the game. The main mistake that alliance is doing in my opinion is that they leave literally no defense. I’m not speaking of turtle here but leaving 10-15 people at SH would make sure that either horde won’t send big force to wipe IB group because they will have to focus a lot more on SH or if they send most of thier team to wipe IB then we still have SH to continue playing. Same when 5-man horde party is taking our base, it’s not about holding our GY/bunkers forever but forcing horde to actually commit forces to offense instead of sitting in their base with 30 people while 10 people are killing Van kiting him like a DM tribute boss. Obviously game will take 30 minutes then instead of 7 but with current Horde playstyle u will rarely get better game than 30 minutes anyway if it’s not Russians.
