Why is it so hard to find a group for dungeons?

Yet according to the forums, classic is really easy, everyone knows everything about it and are all expert gamers who have been practicing for the past 15 years, if not more. :joy:

I personally enjoy playing with people who are new and learning, but I’m a healer and can make up for mistakes a bit.

If I were tanking, it would be more difficult. The only people I don’t get on with though, are those who rant about it. They’re usually people who don’t play that well themselves, but haven’t realised they’d been carried. I don’t think I’ve met any in classic yet.

My hubby is the worse player of wow bar none, so I can get used to pretty much anything and I like helping and discovering new stuff myself. :grinning:

This comes from the ~10-15% of the players who have raided on private servers all the time until Classic came. Then you have ~70% of players who have some knowledge of the game but either that knowledge is limited or it has faded over time. And then you have the last 15-20% of players who are either completely new to WoW or have never played vanilla or done any vanilla content in their life ('cause currently on retail you can get 1-60 in one evening through RFD).

As a holy priest I don’t have trouble getting invites to any dungeon I want, any time of the day.

Then you have people like my hubby, the reason levelling in current wow is dumbed down.

I didn’t know what ‘keyboard turner’ meant until I went to point something out on his screen for him. “There’s a dirt pile next to the stump over… Whoa, where am I?”

He’d be the one rending skeletons, if he could find rend.

OP is right, its pretty silly. I sit in shazzrah and i’m a mage looking for BRD aoe dungeons. Yet, despite the server having queue’s up and all, i can literally spam all night and not get a group out of it while there should be thousands of people willing to do it.

Something strange is going on.

If you are healer or tank it isn’t a problem but if you are dps , well so many people already said this. You can’t find a grp easly when you just spam “DPS LFG”

That won’t work. You need wishper to who LFM but since there are so many dps this will be take time.

Best way is making a grp and search others.

Don’t be lazy

Druid tanking isnt that bad tbh

Start a group, show initiative, add to your friends list the people you’ve successfully grouped with in the past.

Be upfront about the goals for the run, whether you’re going for quest run or a fast run for exp.

They absolutely should though before they get windfury at lvl 30.

No. Rockbiter generates extra threat and is used for tanking. The DPS alternative is Flametongue, which does approximately the same damage (lower on low-armor targets, higher on high-armor targets).

Spent 40 minutes spamming general and lfg chat looking for a tank and nothing. I gave up and went and grinded mobs instead.

What is the lfg group? The world group is very annoying, constantly spamming messages.

Rockbiter does more damage, one shouldn’t even learn flametongue. The threat does not matter one bit in those low level dungeons, people should just aim maximizing their damage.

Say that in my group and I’ll just kick you.

I’m not gonna risk wipes just so you can deal 10 more damage per auto. Yes, the difference is 10 damage, at best. And not always in favor of Rockbiter.

Totally agreed.
Made my own groups to get all the hard-aquired items and got all 17 slots best in slot+1 epic and this is EXACTLY how you make it work.
It’s not toxic to be smart my friend :v:

Not true, i have had a dedicated enhance tank in zf mara brd lbrs. its not much difference, i have healed them.

best tanks i have had are druid tanks btw. Thats while leveling tho so no bis geared players.

In 2005 I could tank with shaman up to RFK without any issue, SM was a big no because it was way more harder (delicate pull, lots of Crowd Control : sap + polymorph ) than what we have right now. I think if you follow a guide about shaman tanking you could even go up to LBRS without any issue.

Shaman has a taunt too : Earthsock max rank and it’s really efficient / Annoying.

On Zandalari Tribe, Horde side. I have no issues finding groups. I can go as both healer and dps. Healed Uldaman at 41 this weekend. Did it as dps too. And I don’t use community channels like LFG or World Chat. I didn’t back then, won’t now.

I don’t know why you’re having problems.

Could work, can see mana problems. Bit hard to gear for though and very tiresome to explain every time if you try to pug.

Not for me though, I don’t see auto-attacking with rockbiter with occasionally earth shock very fun. Not much mana pool for else, unless you want tank to drink all the time.
Only way to counter shamans mana problem is to go heavy int/spi, which mostly are cloths and propose problem for tanking. (CL FN spam is fun but go oom each pack)

Problem starts to come at raiding. Threat is not problem but damage you take.
No shield block, no last stand and no shield wall hurts. Crushing blow says hi to non-warriors.

Although not as much as pre 1.12 but first few runs are harder on healers compared to warrior.
Druid has no spell mitigation, paladin has no taunt and neither has interrupt (Stun only viable with dungeon trash pretty much) and people say dps should interrrupt… I wish it was so.
