Why the level 58 boost is bad for the game #stoptheboost

It’s your thread, you initiated it! Your demands of blizzard reversing a decision they’ve likely spent a long time and decent research over, is what started all of this discussion.

I’m mostly posting small replies as it’s not easy to link and quote via mobile.

You know that some players boost other players arena ratings for gold? Does that mean Blizzard should make arena-rating-boosts available for real money?

Someone laughing?

I’ll bet for everyone who did that 10 more were excited by it.

Ok so I create thread and initiate discussion. Then someone replies, I counter their points, they counter mine, I counter there’s until someone runs out of ideas. I feel it is then everyone else’s obligation to either continue or simply like points that have already been made rather than address me directly and repeat what others have said, compelling me to respond because if I don’t, it appears that I have forfeited the debate.

They don’t have to but then I don’t have to hold my frustration at them

So you don’t even know who Kevin Jordan is? That’s very telling honestly. It explains a lot.

he wasn’t born while Kevin Jordan was still in blizzard.

No, I dont know them, doesnt mean or say anything other than me not knowing someone.

I’m sure I know people you dont, that also doesnt prove anything.

You know nothing Jon Snow.
You are in the side of newgen zoomers that game publishers milk for some quick cash, that buys every paid service then leaves after a few weeks to hop onto another game.

It will be very amusing when the people whinning on this post realise they can’t boost BE or Drens.

I have made a list of possible outcomes of boosting on another thread but since yesterday Activision is deleting a lot of my posts, and some of these salty nerds keep flagging them  (which has absolutely no bad words/flaming whatsoever) We have literal disgusting creatures down here in the forums.

Anyways, take it as another contribution and let’s hope it doesn’t get deleted this time:

So to summarize briefly, boosting will:

  1. Help bots start profitting earlier and create an influx of new botters.
  2. Devaluate the time and effort that other players put into levelling new characters.
  3. Devaluate profession mats because people can boost alch/tailor alts to make transmute alts.
  4. Skew faction balance more, especially in horde dominated servers, as many guilds can now change factions easier.
  5. Fill the game with more fotm classes and specs, like hunters and warlocks.
  6. Make the community a lot more toxic, since a lot of unexperienced/new players will be in pug groups, causing issues and everyone will start calling others out for being “boosted”.

I am fully aware of this fact, thanks for contributing nothing

yeah this is on mine

yeah this is on mine

kind of on mine

not on mine but is a big true and I’ve said so in replies to others

good point, it promotes flavour of the month rerolls

I think it’s more complex with this but generally I agree.

What are you talking about?
I was stating that there will be additional whinners for boosts when the realise they can’t boost the new races.
RaF is a better solution and should be implemented instead.

Huh? Everyone knows this. If anything, Blood Elves and Draenei starting at level 1 proves our point even more.

TBC starts at level 1. Get this Retail-like endgame rush mindset away from Classic please.

Where in my post did you read I wanted a boost?

But they won’t be whining to remove boosts, just to loosen the restrictions

I agree

It sounded as if the whiners was me + those who agree and that we don’t understand that u can’t boost draenei and belves which would make the boost bad (whereas we know that already and think the boost is bad regardless).

If this is not the case then I apologise but you should phrase your statement more clearly to avoid confusion in the future.

games are designed to attract a specific audience in order to sell these products.

I suggest to study the basic of desgn like: player tipe or a framework analysis before talking about game design.

Please say you’re baiting

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bartle_taxonomy_of_player_types

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MDA_framework

if you want to talk about design learn the terminology first.

Ok? Boosts still aren’t in line with Classic’s design philosophy lmao.

If you want a game that consistently panders to the lowest common denominator then retail is right that way ---->>>>

Do you have their GDD?

Do you have the MDA analysis (or MTDA+N, SSM or any other framework) they did for it?

Do you have the data that shows the % of TA than wants it and the ones that dont want it?
