Why the level 58 boost is bad for the game #stoptheboost

Nostalgiakeks makes me smile

While i can understand some of the concerns regarding paid lvl boosts, so people who are concerned should understand people who want to buy a lvl boost.

As for me, i am super excited for this feature. I want to skip Azeroth lvling part and jump right into the Outland.

There was also an argument on Us forums regarding lvl boost: " I will lvl my chars and so should You! "

Anyway, i think this is overall a good feature to implement.

That would be fine if just one person would put forth a cohesive, compelling (heck I’d settle for plain logical at this stage) argument in favour of pay-to-win boosts.

So far, nobody has done so. The only ‘arguments’ in favour of pay-to-win boosting are

  1. I don’t like levelling.

  2. Other people do bad stuff and get boosted, so it’s OK for me to do bad stuff and use pay-to-win’.

  3. I don’t have time to play the game properly.

Your reasons are merely a version of number one. You personally don’t like a thing and want to skip it.

But that isn’t how MMOs are supposed to work. MMOs are not supposed to be super-convenient games, filled with instant gratification and quality of life features. They’re supposed to be a journey. Levelling your character is part of that journey.

By the same token:

I will lvl my chars and so should You!

Is not an argument against boosting, it is a non sequitur.

Be glad that they implemented it.Without this boost you are gonna cry about merging servers because nobody will play it

Why do you want to skip the majority of the game?

Without this boost the playerbase wouldn’t be crying

implying you arent minority lol.Actual player base likes the boost and will boost a character they want to reroll on in tbc

I think there’s no argument in favor for lvl boosts.

Honestly, there has to be one? A viable one? What will change then?

But fine, i can give You one. I don’t like lvling in Azeroth anymore. I used to, when game lauched and i was like 16. Now, im twice that age and i find it boring and grindy, thats why i want to skip 58 lvls.

Seems petty for You? Perhaps. But not for me.

I already know it, besides im lazy. Sue me. :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s not an argument against pay-to-win boosts. It’s a personal statement that you don’t like a thing and want to skip it.

By that same logic I don’t like E3M5 in the original Doom, Uholy Cathedral, and so a new game patch needs to be implemented by the developers that inserts a big ‘skip’ button when the level is entered.

Fortunately I understand that my own personal likes and dislikes should not dictate the course and development of an entire video game. Even if I don’t like the level, I still understand that the game would be lessened, and shortened if it were made optional.

I’ve seen fewer players that are for the boost than those that are against it.

The majority prefer how MMORPGS used to be

Guess a mmorpg ain’t for you then

What you’ll actually find is the REAL majority don’t give af either way. They’d play if there is a boost but they’d also play if there wasn’t. It’s only the 2 minorities that either claim they NEED it and won’t play without or claim that they won’t play with the boost in the game. And also, you’re conflating 2 separate things. Just because most people will USE the boost does not mean that most people LIKE the boost. Most people WILL use the boost because it’s the path of least resistance and the most competitive option for having 1 ready-for-outlands toon. But if they designed the game, they maybe would choose to not have it.

beautifully made point. I’ve seen the rest of your replies too, good job on keeping collected against many obvious trolls and people simply not trying to make intelligent arguments. As you could probably notice, I’ve taken a backseat on this thread because I was tiring of all the repetition.

Monkey cant even realise difference between MMO and single player game, sad

exactly, it’s WORSE in an MMO to have the skip because of the social and competitive element of the game.

Its not since there is no competitive element until you capped your lvl. There is no content untill you lvled your lvl and farmed gear, i dont understand why these kids crying so hard

exactly which is what makes faster levelling competitive because it allows you to become competitive sooner and with less time and effort.

the only child I see is you sir in this thread constantly using cheap name calling tactics in an otherwise civil debate.

And again, its not.All content in wow always been timegated so boost to 58 will give you 0 advantages.

Indeed it was about personal reasons.

Perhaps, but i will stay nonetheless.

Sad part for some of You is that Blizz will implement it because its money for them. Its as simple as that.

Forgot to mention the bests pve content.

Tomb hardest raid in history of this game.

M+ where way more fun

PvP was skill based due of gear irrilevance.

Mage Tower best solo challenge in game.

But I guess that you only did LFR and was already to hard for you.
