Probably the only part of your post that should have been left out, imo.
Hard to believe any difference would be made when WOTLK Classic is the least Classic time of the game.

Last night on Firemaw horde had10.3k items on the AH and the Alliance reached 10k for the first time as well!
Also, at 02:45 (lol) in the morning the Alliance still had >50 levelers, absolutely unheard of a few months back.
And on a personal note, I am after one of Naxx’s endgame weapons, and haven’t gotten it yet despite killing a boss for months now. But I am chill… no patches nor expansions getting in the way of that goal!

Which has the better pop at the mo? About to transfer!
I believe Firemaw is the biggest, BUT our fellow PvE cluster players are also very proud of their community and their numbers.
So, first thing I would recomment is to think of what you wanna play - PvE or PvP.
If this does not matter, then create a lvl 1 in both servers and ask in world, check AH numbers. Should take 20 mins max and there you should have a more precise view of how things are…!

Awesome post, Bananoid! The EU PVE cluster (as i’m most active there) has seen some growth in the past few months as well. From 3-4k total characters (that have been seen online in the past 30 days) around November of 2022, we have now surpassed the 6k number. Also, we’re now regularly getting over 300 concurrent players online in the evenings and the AH items number is on the rise (from 2-2.5k) to now close to 4k. Both EU clusters are decently active to have an enjoyable. Oh, let’s not also forget Hydraxian Waterlords which is now an officially Medium population realm

Classic era is amazing because you don’t need to rush anything. I am wondering though if the current (relative) success of classic era will not be a problem: since september, I have a feeling that population on pvp cluster increase x5 (anyone has another estimate?). But if we continue at this rate, combined to the fact that this is a cluster, how would we manage overpopulation if it were to happen? Can you imagine 10 high pop servers clustered into 1 world? Or will this be the return of layering? Let’s hope classic era doesn’t get killed by its own success 
As for me, I am using the “no rush” context of era to do something I would never have had the time to complete 3 years ago: a full BIS lvl 59 twink. I am not alone doing this, I hope we can inspire some other players to do the same and eventually have enough 50-59 population to have Bgs.

The no rush, no stress, play at your own tempo element of Era is what sets it apart from every other WoW version.
Vanilla is such a vast world with so many possibilities and things to do, it really would take forever to accomplish everything. Hence the beauty of having that time to do it.
Lvl 50-59 bgs wold be lit… we got the bracket 10-19 going so its a start!

Bananoid, thank you for the wrap-up! I’m Hydraxian Waterlords native player and I’m most impressed with the action we have there because of lots HC players
We also have some nice spots there for people that want to have some non-HC time and got different Classic experience - there are guilds on both sides that do PVE and sometimes RP content. For Horde it’s and we welcome any player that want to experience nice and helpful community and also want to try some different type of challenging content
We’re crossing fingers for all HC players on our realm! Waiting for your great event, we’ll be there to cheer for you! And also greetings to other Classic Era servers <3

Oh I see. My money is on Azuregos killing the HC players though
Azu can be pretty nasty these days but with these numbers and Ally/Horde cooperation I think can get him down
