The situation in Hidraxian Waterlords is definitely something to be super happy about. I have logged in the server and talked to a few of your OG players and there is a very positive vibe about the present and future.
Also, I am aware of your guild b/c of good old Vanillataur giving you props in the past in this forum.
Hydraxian Waterlords is definitely the to-go HC server for Era and it is great you guys are working towards creating a different, although super cool endgame experience!
Thank you so much for this and all your posts around the forums. Your passion for the Vanilla/Era version of the game is definetly transmissive, and the information you provide really helps show to people that Era is growing once more. I mean, there is a reason that this version of the game has been bringing people back all these years.
My wife and I are back recently, after playing WOTLK (which we have always loved and still do, but this time around we could not help but noticing the early transformation signs of the game towards its current/retail form).
We are on the Firemaw cluster, and although we are Horde at heart, we rolled on Alliance side in order to boost the numbers and activity there. As we are Roleplayers and PvPers (was on Zandalar Tribe here and on Defias Brotherhood on retail), we hope in the future to create an RP-PvP guild as a cozy little corner for players like us who migrated here from Zandalar, as the server was never merged.

Firemaw PvP horde side has the biggest of the populations on Era as far as I can see.
Pyrewood-Village PvE horde side is small but this has also advantages, as it is less meta focused, more room for farming, and it shares the PvP bgs with all Era with more manageable brackets.
All in all, I would suggest making a lvl 1 char in both (or the one of your liking) and checking out the main city & asking some questions in /world.

We are small but thriving in a big way.
Only two main guilds but we work together and enjoy what we do!
Our other main guild German speaking is Trinity and are now at 14 / 15 Naxx so big props to them!
We are 10 / 15 (Warriors of Sunlight) and all having a blast!
The community for me is our strong point and both guilds accept levellers and all dungeons / raids are run!
Higher brackets (11+) are organized similar to what they were during Classic. You got discord, honor caps and all. Poolboosting events are also held weekly by rankers.
Not only is it possible, you will see a lot of former Era R14s. As for the PvP, as I have mentioned in the OP there are PvP specific guilds you can join tat are growing by the day. Also, we do have a dedicated PvP discord where bgs alternative to wsg are coordinated, people discuss all things PvP, etc.
To give you an example - formerly, we only saw bgs on Friday. It eventually grew to wsg every day (evenings) and dedicated bonus week bg on Friday. Now is wsg every evening, dedicated bonus weekend bg all weekend (last AV weekend it popped Friday-Sunday) and a newly organized weekly Wednesday AB, which has been popping consistently since organization began.
Also, a twink 10-19 bracket scene is being set up and the first bg happenned last weekend⌠So yeah, if PvP is your thing, you will find PvP.
The whole problem with era servers is that 1.12 patch was like a âgoodbyeâ patch for that content. 1.11 was Naxx and that was it. No content currently in game is tuned for 1.12 patch. So considering it as a long-term project without at least retuning(which shouldnât be hard, just maybe change the code - "increase dps and hp of every mob in game by 20%) content feels unrealistic.
Yes, we have speedruns, but if I wanted mythic key levels for such challenge, I would have played retail and actually get better gear. For me always, getting relevant gear+actually killing the boss was the ultimate glory. Speedrunning feels cheap and waste of time.
The raiding is not even fun. I am expected to get all consumables, world buffs and addons. The content is tuned for earlier, weaker talents and instead of giving people a break, you want speedrun to make their life miserable.
I guess leveling is OK on these era servers, but I would never dare to enter BG-s, I would get one-shotted by naxx-geared no-lifers. There should be rated bg-s for geared peopleâŚ
Nobody is forcing you to speedrun with ACTIVE and this is something the majority of Era players do not do. If it is indeed making your life miserable then I would suggest looking for other options.
Now in terms of PvP, your post tells me you do not PvP. A good amount of top pvpers have a mix between R10 blues and some ZG/MC/BWL gear + all engineering gadgets + spend a bunch of gold on consumes. Something that can be achieved by anybody w/o ever stepping into Naxx nor even AQ40 for that matter.
In any case, there is now a twink 10-19 scene forming as we speak in case you would rather even out the field for pvp, and there are also plans for future higher brackets. Maybe this would suit you better mateâŚ!
Free transfers are still not working EU wise, only NA are.
You can re-open the ticket and point that the issue has already been reported to the devs and they are working on it, and no matter what the GM says to you, it should be available on EU as well.

They should connect all clusters, also regional ones. If specific language players want to play with their fellow countryman they would still be able to do that while enjoying the bigger population density and the thriving AH of the formers.
On Nostalrious we were all together, and there were still no language barriers.

But now too many doing the HC challenge. At least they need server for them. And we need PvP and PvE separate.
For most people wotlk is most remembered, hyped and loved wow expansion. People literally hoped for wotlk classic since classic release.

This sounds great! Really makes me happy seeing that Classic Era is thriving, and kudos to the Era community for keeping it going! I sometimes logged onto the servers now and again out of curiosity, and every single time it seemed more lively than the last.
Iâm enjoying Wrath Classic in its own way and playing with some friends there, but Iâm so tempted now to play my cloned Era character and/or start new ones!
If nothing else, itâs just great to know that Era will be waiting once I and potentially many others decide to return home
