I can sense it to my friend, have played since 09 with few breaks lasting over a week and I have been and are playing on both low pop and “full” realms during this time. For me it started in shadowlands where I really felt that yea game isnt going very well at all just looking around and even more so now and I would agree that we are in the end of life stage of wow. Small part of me just want them to end it already and put us all out of our misery
eso has tech problems , design part is amazing in that game and you claimed that lost ark was more successful but you have zero source for that claim.
it’s not that , that’s what you don’t get. having a pre-made group in wow affects your gameplay so much. you have to have a good group to enjoy raids/dungeons and it’s mostly pre-made groups that turn out to be good , that’s the problem, in other mmos you can just pug or even if u have to have a guild group for raids, there are other activities that you can do as solo, wow’s end-game has zero solo content now (mage tower, torghast etc.) it’s not about grouping up, it’s about having to grouping up to enjoy the game.
not fun and takes too long to do without a premade group, meta issues , repetiveness, unbalanced affixes that treats classes differently , i can go on. it’s not that it’s hard, it consumes so much time (not just ksm, if you want to play m+ you usually have higher goals than ksm) and just not fun.
I really can’t imagine how standard eso combat with attached to it ability based style of dps and toned down impact and"feel" of actually hitting enemies in melee can be called “good design” it’s hillarious, this game is supposed to be modern mmo but even morrowind combat feels better.
Yes because encounters requie cooperation, it’s how group content works.
That’s specific and depends on player
And that’s. somehow. bad
You can easily pug normal raids and low keys in wow, i pugged entirety of s1 df. had fun. You can’t pug savage and ultimate raids in ffxiv, well you can, in wow you can pug heroics and mythics too but it’ll be painful.
Well yeah there is not much casual content that gives you character power, not a big deal, mage tower is the only thing i find game lacking, i group up only for raids, pug m+ still enjoy the rest of the game.
Yeah cant play wow without 4 set /s
Who asked again? Byeeeee
Based. Thats because the people playing now didnt leave during SL so theyre more prone to stay. I mean if u still play wow after fiasco BFA and SL, ull prob play DF too. DF is a minor improvement to SL and BFA so having good retention numbers for the people still playing doesnt say anything at all besides prove the point that most people alrdy left.
Because no big company besides Riot is trying, the rest of them are just in for a quick buck and not sustainabillity. Why do u think RIOT is trying now when wow is coming off its lowest? Theres a huge market up for grabs. U only have to be better than Dragonflight lmfao, thats not hard if u invest into it. The Old Republic couldve killed WoW if it take out today and actually keept funding, issue is it came out in a time where people still had faith in Blizzard, none of that exists today. The goodwill of people is long gone, so the “wow killers” couldnt capatilise back then. Theres a reason Blizzard wont show sub numbers for over 10 years. Mark my words if any good MMO comes out in the next years, wow will die and never return. Unless they make WoW 2 for some quick hype and maybe its good maybe its not, but itll make them some money. The way theyve treated this community for decades isnt passing anymore. Most of the WoW playerbase is pushing 30+, people have better things to do, they clearly and attracting new players, so whats the solution to actually “growing”, the goal shouldnt be to stabilise and sit neatly where u are. Im worried that RIOT MMO will be good, because if it is, i have no doubt the majority will move towards that. Its not copium its just facts. WoW has been on a decline never ever seen before, its not comparable to the millions of sub numbers in cata and mop when all the doomsayers said it would die. It doesnt have a strong foundation and community, arguebly only people left that has nothing else on the market being good enough to switch. If the only thing keeping people playing wow is the lack of anything decent, ure in for a hard time when inevitebly it comes.
If you treat current wow as a different mmo and accept that it’s just a different game than before, and that yesteryear cannot be returned, you will have a lot of fun.
How? since early access started i’m doing 16 hours sessions
I didn’t encountered 1 BUG or one error…
What are you gonna do about it? Healers have shorter queues and DPS have longer. Thats how it works with there being lets say 1 healer to a million dps in comparison figurately speaking. Also gets worse the higher the Rating goes (something that applies to every game. Even LoL)
The only way they could change that would be if they remove healers as a whole from the queue system or make a seperate solo shuffle that is 3dps vs 3dps.
that should be their priority to fix , the players arent the scape goat to this issue.
if healers were more fun to play, people would play them
id accept DPS only lobbies or a NPC BoT healer.
but all in all. we are the paying customers, why is it always " ITS THE PLAYERS FAULT "
no
stuff the game if the logic to use the paying customers as the scapegoat to a problem they should and are being paid to fix
I asked you how. You cant fix it unless you create a separate solo shuffle that is dps vs dps only (but that wont change the 4dps/2heal solo queue time for dps). There will ALWAYS be more dps players than Healer players. This is the case in every single game without exception. So if the game wants a 2dps/1heal vs 2dps/1heal then a DPS will always have longer queues than the healer does.
Fun is subjective.
Oh yes an NPC Bot Healer. That will totally work out given how “splendid” WoWs PvP Ai is. In player vs player content. With a rating system. You must be joking.
So what if youre a paying customer? Nobody cares.
DPS will always have higher queues than healer or tanks because they are by far the biggest part of the playerbase.
im sure they care, be a pretty bad business if they didnt
and to answer your question about Bot Healers, most games last 2minutes each round in shuffle
im sure they can make the bot strong enough to last. and with the illegal hacking and auto bots on the market that play and autopilot your character in pvp
thats already a thing, players use bot software in pvp.
anyone that plays PvP like myself can tell you Bots and AI are smarter than you think
ive seen kick bots with 0.1 reaction times scripting kicks and CC
i got my elite set this season, 2nd week into the season, im done for now, ill visist the game again IF they decide to take due care and actually fix the game
no player should wait 40minutes. EVER to play the game in that pillar of the game ( PVP, PVE , openworld are the three pillars to an MMO )
They dont because its an universal problem. This isnt the cast just in WoW but every game that runs the “holy trinity” system.
Joke of the century there mate.
And they dont advance high. Correct.
Which can also be very easily counterplayed if you know that your enemy is a bot utilizing said technology. Something currently not the case in PvP because not everybody is hacking, so you cant assume it from the get go. But if you know the enemy healer is a bot running a specific script then you can hard counter that.
Ye then have fun in the future as it wont change. DPS will always have bigger queue times. They did in the past, they do now and they will do so in the future.
Explain how an mmo should work at endgame and not be repetitive then? Release new raids and dungeons every two months, while being polished, balanced and fun to play? Not realistic.
It’s always like this in every mmo I’ve ever played, and wow offers a lot of content to do at max level besides raiding and m+, which it did not offer at the start of wow’s life.
You might not like the content but it’s there regardless: achievement hunting, pets, mounts, loremaster - some people actually like questing - pet battling, transmog, RP, professions.
appreciate your insight and your views
i just dont agree with them
Maybe the “holy Trinity” should stay in PvE
and PvP should finally be balanced around dps only lobbies instead of this exhausting push to use all 3 roles in PvP ( Arena + RBG )
or they could just say F it and remove PvP and dedicate this game to PVE only, but while the choice is here , players like myself whom play for pvp wont stick around while the system is playing against us, you have Work IRL come home have maybe 2-4 hours game time, and each queue is 40minutes long… thats not sustainable no matter what excuse is set in place, be it Player driven or Blizzard driven
thats my last words on the matter, hope you see my point of view
PvP doesnt have the trinity (even in RBGs this is up for debate). Its a DPS/Healer system. Once again: DPS are way higher in the populace since the average player likes to hit and smash things rather than playing a supportive role.
Arena doesnt have 3 roles. Tanks are either broken temporarily or unplayable. Blizzard also doesnt want tanks in Arena.
In RBGs they fail with it more often than not or even flat out destroy tanks sometimes with certain changes. Only thing that is always happening is that DPS and Healers are the norm in PVP setups.
I see your point. Its just simply put not in line with reality. As long as there is more than one role you will always have higher queue times as the role which there is an abundance of (DPS).
Yeah , because it’s still making it.
You misunderstand the biggest issue with PvP right now.
Toxicity is everywhere, always has been, always will be. It’s not specific to WoW PvP, and it’s not even specific to PvP at all - plenty of M+ folks are quite awful too.
But that’s fine. Most PvP players can stomach it.
The issue we’re facing right now, is that while solo shuffle was a great addition that brought many players back to PvP in season 1, the queue times of 45 minutes for DPS players mean that people are getting tilted and losing interest.
The frustrating bit with all of this is that the playerbase has figured out the “why” and the “how to fix it” a very long time ago:
The queue times are long because there is a healer shortage. There is a healer shortage because healing in PvP currently does not feel rewarding. It does not feel rewarding because dampening is huge, and baseline healing throughput is already kind of low.
This means that:
- When we press our healing spells, nothing happens, and we feel like we have next to no impact, and next to no control over what happens during the fights.
- We can’t use the non-healing spells of our toolkit. Healing throughput is so low that every GCD that we don’t spend spamming heals is a massive gamble, and often a game losing one. So, we’re healboting 24/7, and HP bars are stagnating nonetheless.
And yet, what have Blizzard done in the latest balance patch?
They nerfed Disc & Mistweaver, the only two healers people are still playing.
They’re balancing the game by making OK-tier specs worse, so that they’re in line with the other garbage tier specs. Awful decision making.
In the next few weeks, plenty of Dis & Mistweavers will stop playing, and the already long queue times will increase even more.
This is what’s frustrating in PvP right now.
We have everything we’ve asked for: an alt-friendly expansion, great gearing system, we’re neither forced to play PvE nor to complete the campaign, and we have a solo queue system to play ranked PvP when our friends are offline.
But we can’t enjoy it because queue times are too long, and Blizzard are oblivious to the obvious solution to this issue.
As a side note, the current season also has a deflation issue which means that we are facing gladiators and even literal rank 1 players are 1900 rating.
