Classic : easy, unfair, boring

I agree with most of you’re points .
A very unpolished version of the game , with some lazy devs and a bunch of average individuals screaming on top of their lungs #nochanges .
#makemoney with little less effort
#let’snotcreate and improve let’s create hype

You still need the gear to fight against each other.
Nothing’s changing about that lol.

Two teams of roughly equally geared players? = Whoever can focus the same player down most.
People dying in a few seconds as the damage is insane from the gear?

There’s a reason why PvP sucks after specific tiers(AQ/Naxx) come out, simply due to the fact that you’d eventually just get one shot… lol.
Damage increases, but health does not.

But I’m sure PvP is hard in classic xD.

tonight their is a wsg pvp tournament. i suggest you watch it, you will find out that you are wrong.

I don’t watch streamers, I’d rather play games myself.
I can tell you’re a twitch user though, from all of your twitch emotes that you use on the forums lol.

But muh PvP is very skill based - Insanebolt 2020.
Classic PvP is 90% gear and 10% skill.

so you are making an opinion based on what exactly? you provide no proof. i tell you where to find proof and you refuse to look at it.

Opinion? - It’s a fact that classes can two shot.
What exactly is skill based on that? xD.
That is based on gear, not skill lol.

I can google “Best Classic WoW ONE SHOT Compilation!” and people are getting one shot.
Do you even play classic? xD.

i’ve never been 2 shot in classic

I’ve seen multiple people get two shot, it’s not that hard XD.
Then again, you’re only a level 27… so you probably get one shot.

everysingle class in the game can avoid getting 2 shot by a shaman

I’m sure they can lmao xD.

then if you are getting 2 shot by a shaman, its because you are bad.

You need nature absorption potion to even think about surviving a shaman’s lightning

no you don’t

Just want to mention some points that I don’t see mentioned all that often (although I confess I haven’t read the whole thread):

  • 1.12 are the vanilla classes at their most polished and buffed. When the current raids (MC and BWL) were current in vanilla the classes were a lot less developed.

  • The raids (think particularly Ragnaros) were nerfed by 1.12. In his original form there was no way to survive without stacking mass fire resistance so when people look at his long unkilled streak during vanilla and go ‘bad players derp’ it misses a lot of points.

  • UI development. The current standard UI raid frames are light years ahead of what you could achieve in vanilla even with addons (a lot of players didn’t even have addons). This makes co-ordinating healing and dispelling so much more trivial than it was back then.

  • Keybindings/keyboardturning - people lump this under ‘player skill’ but is it a lack of skill to not use something that you didn’t know existed? Most people clicked because the game never made any effort to show you that the keybindings option even existed. I remember looking at the option on the menu back in vanilla and thinking ‘wtf is that?’

Well, that’s just like… your opinion, man.

I prefer Classic, because it’s an MMORPG. Retail has become a hack-n-slash, single-player action game. Others prefer that, and that’s a-okay.

WoW is not an RPG. It is an MMO, but not an RPG. WoW is just a theme park. And retail is just a collection game of Pokemon. Plus Artifacts have dumbed down the game even further. Itemization is a joke. At least back in the day you could choose between PvP/PvE options. You still couldn’t wear leather as a mage… Or a shield as a mage… So, not an RPG by all means. But at least there were options in itemization. Now it’s just “muh artifacts” (and in BfA “muh level of a necklace”).

And Shadowlands won’t be better. If people think that “artifacts” are cool and they won’t hurt Shadowlands… let them play. To me it is too easy and boring.

what about someone who plays for quest lore? that feels like playing “offline game”

if only we had a feature to remove viewing other players in Town! as some MMO’s, that would be epic!

Well the quests are still linear. You don’t have the option to kill the quest NPC… or even tell them that you did the quest, when you didn’t. (lying). So it is as far from an RPG as possible.
Secondly, the storyline in the current wow is not interesting anymore. To me at least… I did the Zandalari chain, it’s meh. Plus being the savior of the world and the nations… again… is not fun to me.

Some people may enjoy questing them… Hell, some people like Pet Battles and Mission Table. I won’t judge them, I want everybody to have fun in the game. But there is no fun in PvP anymore. Itemization is dead. Everything is timegated.

The worst part of it all for any PvP player, since the different sets were removed, is that you MUST grind the dumb PvE stuff to be able to PvP. Meaning the power of the items. Not the ilvl on Mythic+, no. Like the Necklace. You grind those dumb PvE expeditions to increase a power of an item you don’t really care about. Just because you must keep the power level in PvP.

PvP players just aren’t interested. Because back in the day we killed other players on BG’s and open world to get our BiS PvP Necklace. We didn’t queue for some dumb PvE activity. And the Shadowlands won’t be better.

And to get the BiS PvP Weapons we had to play Arena. Literally no any other way in the entire game. We weren’t fed the Artifact weapons like in Legion, we weren’t handed the items that could be lvled up (like the Necklace again in BfA). We actually had to PvP to get PvP items. Oh, those were the good times.

Bullsh*it. Retail is full of people in every single zone of interest and now in low level zones too especially with the new xp buff. General chat in capitals is alive on big servers also.
Exactly the same as dead and full realms on Classic
