Loot Leavers

I know that, I’ve been invited into groups where the tank has left as they’ve not got their trinket or whatever from the first boss.

I’m just saying that I just don’t feel comfortable doing that kind of thing, as it’s just bad manners. Also, I prefer to value the valorstones more :stuck_out_tongue:

But as the thread itself is aimed at, I can understand the frustration from both sides of group.

When a tank or healer leave. The dungeon is over and everyone else leaves. Ofc there’s harm in leaving.

I don’t see this happening in RDF runs. I’m usually the healer, but half the tanks have been leaving after the first boss in City of Echoes (been running it a lot for the gloves and cape, already have the trinket for ele spec). It typically takes 30 seconds for a tank to backfill and people always stay around.

I feel that if someone can’t wait 30 seconds and would rather re-queue (especially as dps), it’s self-inflicted harm.

If only 1 leaves the ln yes, it’s generally fine but a lot of the time when 1 leaves. The other does too and then you’ve just got DPS left. I’ve only had it happen once personally but I’m sure others have seen it more if they’ve done a lot more dungeons.

We’re currently working on a hotfix that will implement the Deserter debuff for players who leave a Group Finder dungeon early.

This penalty will apply to early leavers in all Group Finder dungeons.

I thought there was already a debuff for leaving the group early, and has been for years?

Or is this a new one that will apply if they leave before killing the last boss or last two bosses? With all the random vote kicks that happen these days that addition will cause more issue, unless it doesn’t apply from being kicked.

Are you going to add this to LFR also? Because getting into an already running LFR wing is worse than getting into a dungeon with 1-2 bosses left.

Interesting that the debuff was overlooked. But it will be nice to get it added back to avoid the nonstop leavers on first boss killed, when people do not get their items. As long as it’s ready and active by the time M0 arrives, I’ll be happy.

Not if there’s a boss down, which is being made particularly an issue at the moment.

My thought would be make it significant - like, hours/a day, not minutes, and it reduces depending on dungeon progress. Ie, 4 boss dungeon, leave after 2? The penalty then is half it’s ‘leave immediately’ duration.

I have seen it a bunch of times between today and yesterday and usually are tanks that leave.
Today alone I had multiple tanks leaving the dungeon even after the first boss.

Nice! What about mythic+? Remove deserter for votekick coz players abuse it! Your team missunderstood for ages. Leave and votekick arent the same thing in normal/heroic! You have to change it! Thanks!

3 dungeons doing 40% of the damage and no drops… Then I started to target my loot it just happened to be first two bosses and leave… Blame Blizzard and its loot drop %

Leaving early when bosses are dead won’t do much as the system is already in place…

Is it going to apply to people who are kicked?

Odds for that are zero since those are premade groups.

Imagine, farming in a mmorpg… :dracthyr_shrug:

Farming or pointless low drop for that MAU number… ppl are dropping for a reason… If loot had more of a % do you think ppl would leave?

Its not a mount but has the same % drop rate 20 runs to get 1 weapon whoo hooo soo fun.

rewarding players time shocking innovation it seems lol.

True at this stage it makes no sense for people to be quitting in this manner. I’ve been lucky with the drops I’ve got over the heroics I’ve done. I’ve farmed the same 2 heroic today for maybe 2 hours and finally got lucky with players who didn’t need the item, which dropped.

But I at least still go through and complete the dungeon, hense why I’m ilvl 586
