Interesting… Just for the fun of it, wanting to see if I had actually missed that, I did a quick search in the regular forum.

I looked back as far as to december 2018.
I found 1(!) post actually complaining about RDF in retail and the vote kick system.

Is there a new trend for randomly kicking people just before the last boss of dungeons these days?

This should be addressed by the developers. People premade in RDF and kick others because… they think it is funny. I saw people, myself included, getting kicked for nothing, a wrong pull, a death from a boss mechanic, afk for a couple seconds, low dps (everyone was under level 30) or even talking. This is a massive waste of time as you can get the deserter debuff or get kicked at the last boss. I recently started playing wow again after a break of a couple of years. I heard news of the expansion and wanted to check this game out again, probably out of nostalgia.
