BOOMTEC Recruitment: OPEN FOR ALL ROLES.
Waves bobbing peacefully were interrupted by a great seafaring vessel that commanded the waves, its many mechanical propellers churning the brine beneath it. A marvel of engineering, the great barge had what looked like an entire town mounted on its back, the likes of which had not been seen beyond Fizzle and Pozzik’s Speedbarge and a few other great seafaring craft brought in by the Kul Tirans, Zandalari or Iron Horde designs. Such a feat could have only been achieved by Goblins and Gnomes working together, and it had. Populating this vessel were people of both races, and many others of the Horde and Alliance, all sharing the same goal of living free upon the waves, making coin for their employers and making as many scientific and technological discoveries as possible while doing so. Of course they Goblins and Gnomes didn’t always get along. Friendly rivalry was always going to flare up, but it was a worthy price to pay for the sake of being able to do research away from the prying eyes of the Alliance and Horde with mercenaries and security to do the dirty work.
BOOMTEC Incorporated and Sparkforge Industries take the same approaches to their business practices, and with the help of their floating headquarters there is money and there are scientific to discoveries to be made no matter where you look!
Hey all,
After seven years in which we’ve been both a Bilgewater Battalion guild and then a Bilgewater Company, BOOMTEC is now in the business of neutrality in the name of progress and profit! The BOOMTEC Union is a conglomerate of smaller subsidiary companies that chiefly works as a research and development company that uses our discoveries to offer war technological innovations, security, enforcement, entertainment and a whole host of products. Operating out of a floating barge, we not only make coin from sales of our services and goods but are also funded by the Bilgewater Cartel, Explorers League, Gnomeregan and just about anyone who either wants dibs on our research and weaponry or wants to keep us on the straight and narrow.
Whether you’re a mercenary who wants to make coin plying your free spirited services, a trader who wants to sell BOOMTEC products or open a storefront of our company somewhere, a more hardened security professional assigned by a major faction and especially a researcher, alchemist or engineer of any kind, BOOMTEC wants YOU!
The BOOMTEC Neutrality Clause
BOOMTEC follows a neutrality clause that is important to understand for both members of the company, allies of the union and those who purchase the inventions or services of the union and those who work for it:
- BOOMTEC sells inventions and technology to individuals and groups of any faction as long as they are not ‘evil’ (e.g. a void or Legion cult, criminal gang)
- If BOOMTEC products are used by one faction in a conflict, BOOMTEC is not liable for how they have been used and if the other faction wishes to field such technology themselves, they should buy from BOOMTEC as well.
- BOOMTEC employees are allowed to offer their services individually to the Alliance and Horde and even fight for them. Trucebreaking actions taken by members of the company are considered entirely their own and separate from the company.
- While on company business, all BOOMTEC employees are to be considered fully neutral regardless of their previous actions against other factions and will be protected by the company in event of assault.
- If a member of the company is seen to be using their neutral status as a member of the company to harm a neutral faction or the Alliance and Horde through espionage or incendiary actions, they will be fired and left at the mercy of the affected faction.
- The company will take research and development jobs from the major factions of Azeroth so long as they do not involve aggressive or harmful actions towards other factions.
BOOMTEC currently has trade relations with the Alliance, Horde, Argent Crusade, Kirin Tor, Bilgewater Cartel and Steamwheedle Cartel. As a company we sell our products to and do jobs for these factions but we would never, as a company, actively harm any of these factions ourselves.
What is B.O.O.M.T.E.C.?
B.O.O.M.T.E.C. stands for the Bilgewater Organization of Operations, Military, Technology, Explosions and Craftsmanship, a Goblin company that is focused on the mass production, research and development of munitions and war machines for the purpose of sale as well as offering the services of a group of Bilgewater Battalion trained soldiers and mercenaries equipped with these blasting edge munitions. This means that not only do we focus on building up and protecting our resource operations in Stranglethorn, Azshara, the Barrens and Ashenvale in order to make these war machines, but we also often deploy our Battalion on missions and campaigns or see our research team doing experiments. The company is also often set to work on projects or missions assigned by members of the board that works with the Mogul, and our various allies across the Horde and beyond. This means that we do all sorts of events from something laid back and casual or something absolutely wild and crazy, meeting all sorts of interesting characters from across all factions as we go.
On the lowdown, B.O.O.M.T.E.C. is also a company that hires outside help that can get to places that members of the Horde cannot from our subsidary company, staffed by characters that are our own alts.
Ranks:
New Hire: New hires are those who have recently joined the company and want to join our research and development team or security forces and haven’t proven themselves yet. Often we prefer that new recruits RP with us semi-regularly for at least a month before they become a fully fledged researcher or security officer for us.
Mercenary: Mercenaries come from all walks of life, but for the most part your mercenary has decided that they want to join the BOOMTEC Union and take advantage of our lucrative contracts, contacts and discounts on our cutting edge technology. BOOMTEC does not require that our mercenaries constantly stick around us even though they can if they want, and they’re paid on a mission by mission business whether they’re guarding our researchers or enforcing our will.
Sales Representative: Sales representatives of BOOMTEC are merchants, traders and opportunists of all kinds. As a sales representative of our company we’ll trust you to sell our goods at markets and storefronts in various towns and cities or approach and make deals with other guilds or individuals across Azeroth. Akin to mercenaries, we don’t require our sales representatives to stick around us all the time, so as long as your sales rep is loyal to the company, consider our goods at your disposal to sell!
R&D: Our research and development team are made up of researchers from all walks of life even though it’s mainly populated by Goblins and Gnomes. They’re trusted to push the boundaries of technology, alchemy and magic to create new innovations that we can sell for a profit or donate to the name of progress or find intricate solutions to problems that face us. Even though you’re free to be a more non combative researcher who needs their fellow researchers, security and mercenaries to further their own experiments, our R&D often join us on expeditions to use their dangerous magic and technology to aid us in battle!
Security: As a security officer working for the BOOMTEC Union, you have more officiality than the average mercenary and you’re dedicated to ensuring that BOOMTEC’s assets remain safe and that our researchers, sales representatives and ESPECIALLY the Board and Mogul don’t end up dead. Whether you were assigned to the company by the Bilgewater Battalion, Gnomeregan Army or any faction of your choosing or you just seek to be a loyal security officer for BOOMTEC, you’ll be at the forefront of our security and enforcement operations!
Officer: The officers of BOOMTEC are one step below the Underbosses, and are often put in charge on individual missions or when the bosses and underbosses aren’t about. They are the Lieutenants of our Security Captains and the left and right hands of our research heads, playing their own integral role in keeping the company running smoothly.
Underboss: Every Mogul has a team of loyal Underbosses who keep everything running smoothly. These include our head researchers, security captains, head sales representatives and all manner of other tertiary roles that oversee the day to day of the company.
The Board: The Board are a group of rich and powerful individuals of the races that are most interested in the company. They have the biggest investments and in return they get a cut of our profits and are able to use BOOMTEC resources and personnel to further their own goals. Some board members are more actively invested in managing the company than others, but all of them are important, and all of them advise the Mogul. The board is currently made up of our original core of OOC officers.
The Mogul: The Mogul, once Betti Boomcrank and now Prizilla Boomfizzle is the one in charge of it all. Every single sales rep, mercenary, security officer, researcher, officer and underboss ultimately answer to them and it’s their job to rake in the profits, act as a figurehead and occasionally come up with the odd groundbreaking scheme that solves all of our problems! Or make more problems…
Event Schedule:
Our event schedule is quite random as we like to mix in social days with event days and ensure that people with any sort of schedule get to attend events. However, we do commit to having at least three events a week and at maximum five unless we’re on campaign which we’ll warn you of in advance. However, our is to make sure there is a welcoming environment for all members to run their own events prioritised over official guild events and casual RP in the places we go to as well.
Rules:
Getting down to the more administrative side of the guild, the rules of our guild are simple:
- Do not OOC in spatial channels eg. say, yell or emote- this applies even to clarifying things happening in RP, it’s best to just use whispers or guild and raid chat!
- We have zero tolerance towards ERP within the guild. If we catch you ERPing it will result in immediate removal from the guild as we don’t want erotic acts where children can find them. We also don’t condone erotic descriptions in RP profiles nor lust bars in TRPs.
- Please respect other Roleplayers and don’t run around on mounts/disrupt RP.
We don’t like drama in the guild and will act upon it when it arises, so please try to keep up a friendly atmosphere within the guild and our discord. - We also request that people be respectful towards peoples opinions. Therefore please only use TRP’s pronoun indicators as intended and understand that we have zero tolerance towards homophobic, transphobic or racist views.
Attendance Rules:
We run by a month based attendance system. If you don’t show up for fifteen days, we demote to citizen rank. If you don’t show up for thirty days, we will unfortunately have to remove you from the guild.
These rules mean showing up for RP, not logging in and out. Furthermore, if you log in for one day it will only stop your attendance timer temporarily. You’ll have to log on relatively regularly for at least a week before we remove the attendance timer. This way we can keep our numbers as a true reflection of the guilds actual size.
Recruitment and Accepted Races:
As stated on the rank list, some ranks in the guild are only for the core races of the original guild, Goblins, Orcs, Forsaken and Vulpera with extra emphasis on wanting mainly Goblins being a Bilgewater company and all, but our personnel and mercenary ranks are open to all races who have good reason and are of the right power level/lore friendliness. Please note that we are strict on attendance at first and unless forewarned will remove people who join never to log on again after a week or two. Our current recruitment officers are Bettiboom, Hexietta, Hexfeltech, Viira and Letzy.
